The drama is good but tbh I find it so similair to Sungkyunkwan Scandal drama . I feel re-watching the whole thing…
This drama is like snippets of various sageuks from the past lol. I too thought the resemblemce to Sungkyunkwan too (my favorite sageuk) was too obvious to ignore . But the acting here puts the lead couple in SKK to shame
Can we talk about Jinyoung please? I know it's hard to notice other great males in this show because Bo Gum single…
You are welcome:) Oh trust me, I was just as surprised as you guys here!! Apparently he's quite the producer, who made a lot of group's own songs. Gotta love a multi talent ! I'm glad to have noticed him as an actor first, before his actual background because some of them really can't act let's face it lol so when you come across the ones who do its like damn, you're the real deal.
Can we talk about Jinyoung please? I know it's hard to notice other great males in this show because Bo Gum single handedly monopolized almost all hearts with his awesomeness...but like, Jinyoung made my heart skip a couple times too. The show owe its success to the strong acting and chemistry of the leads that create such sparks, and imo it isn't limited to just Bo Gum and Yoojung. Jinyoung is a very natural actor, especially for an idol and he even produced one of the OSTs for this show. (The one at end of ep6) So let's show some love for Jinyoung - our fantastic triple threat of a second lead ❤
This drama is incredible! I love everything in it. Although I do not shed a tear yet (23th episode), drama is…
14th is basically a mix of 4th and 8th's good qualities (chivalrous, smart etc) while leaving out their bad lol. He was driven in his own way, but never played dirty nor manipulated anyone, rather he proved himself worthy thru his abilities. I think that's why he was the Emperor's favorite son, as father knows best what each of his son is really like. Even though 8th appears to be virtuous, it wasn't only because of his low status that his father never fully trusted him.

13th prince has the best personality! The only prince who doesn't care about any notion of class/power, forward-thinking and just a loyal, easygoing person that is the best guy friend every girl could ask for. All the things that happen to him later on breaks my heart everytime </3
I only finished ep 1, and quite frankly the interest is just not there. But can anyone tell me if Hae Soo has…
How is 14th in Ryeo, is he anything like the straightforward yet honorable 14th in SH? Has anything developed between him & Hae Soo yet? He is my fav prince. I'm only asking because I'll probably be dropping this.
This drama is etched into my heart and will always hold a very special place. Main reason being the King of Zhou, quite possibly the BEST second lead in drama history ever. He was so well written, and so well developed, that I never stopped rooting for him til the end. Daniel Chan is the best actor here too
Does anyone else love 14th prince as much as I do? Seriously, am I alone in saying he is the best?
Not alone ! I totally shipped him with Ruo Xi. He went from being that little brother who had a love/hate relationship with her at first, then grew into a reliable man who was able to keep her safe from the battles in the palace when she needed it most. He was the dark horse in this drama.

I had a feeling this would happen, that the plot/character complexity of SH would be exchanged for more romance and fanservice to suit the likes of Kdrama tastes. Not that I mind it, because the original can be heavy content.
I was totally a 14th shipper too, even if I did like her with 4th.

I barely started this show, but based on what I'm hearing about the changes/differences in Ryeo from the original, it does sound like they're building up to a favorable ending for 4th and Hae Soo ? Plus like rainruma said, 4th is made to be a lot more humane/less ruthless here, which in the original was what drove the main couple's relationship apart, even if they did love each other.

That's too bad. I really enjoyed her relationship with each prince, and was one of the things I would've looked forward to, if I do continue past the first few episodes. Also thumbs down to them watering down 4th's ruthlessness and complexity. I liked that she fell in love with him despite all these flaws, yet it strained their love.
You know how 13th was her confidante, 10th was her first friend, 14th was the lil brother who had a love/hate obsession with her lol .. not that I am expecting the same thing here, but ya know what I mean lol
I only finished ep 1, and quite frankly the interest is just not there. But can anyone tell me if Hae Soo has a unique relationship with each prince, like in the original? That was one of the highlights in the Chinese version, being that no two are the same. Even if most of them have no shipping potential, you enjoy the friendships.
I was dying over ep7 ending. Then episode 8 killed me at the start, and again in the end. I am LOVING all this cuteness, because you know an emotional roller coaster is bout to go down thanks to a bunch of assholes who just wants to make life harder for our Crown Price and Ra On.
It's actually a cliche drama, but it's quite interesting, the writer did a good job. Cinematography is also good.…
All I gotta say is be careful about how you express yourself before you end up offending others with the last statement there. There is a fine line between being uncomfortable about 'gay' love and coming across as homophobic.
Even though many elements of the story seem to be a mesh of recycled plot pieces here and there taken from past popular historical K-dramas I gotta say the solid cast, particularly the three main leads, is what makes this drama what it is. Park Bo Geum and his fantastic microexpressions and charisma steals every scene, aside from his killer smile that goes with all that oooozing handsomeness. Couldn't have found a better actor for Crown Prince. And Kim Yoo Jung is probably the best young actress in Korea right now.
The wonderful OST written+produced by Jinyoung: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUVGd2MhMEk&feature=youtu.be

And LOL @ 8th being whitewashed here
So he stopped playing around, and did not hold back.
