Can someone please enlighten why in world of Chinese dramaland it is always spelt "Nv" instead of "Nu" when it's pronounced Nu? It's everywhere and it's crazy
I remember thinking he was quite charismatic and expressive as Bai Zhen in Eternal Love of Dream...to dropping Dr. Cutie because his acting was as comparable to a piece of constipated log. If it wasn't for ELoD and seeing what he was capable of, judging by the latter alone he should've been banned from acting. Some just dont shine in the pressures of limelight and main lead roles. From sounds of how he turned out during all that, taking a hiatus can be a good thing for professional or personal growth.
Had to do a double take on Xu Kai. This is the same actor who gave us the emotionless, dull Fu Heng ?!..characterization aside. Never planned to follow his acting from what I saw of him from Yanxi, and his popularity always struck me as an idol flowery type who managed to hit it home with the right productions..but his acting chops, microexpressions and charisma here impressed me. Either he has grown as an actor, or he does better with this type of character.
Anyone more familiar with his work over the years comment on this?
This variety is a lot of fun to watch, and the lot of girls all come with different talents! The mentors, especially Liu Tao and Yan Kuan, are supportive and insightful. Joe Cheng is a pleasant surprise for me considering he is no powerhouse of an actor (never was nor will be) but knows how to work well with others - which is key in performance arts. Aarif is an intelligent guy, but not sure if he's getting through to his trainees in his role as a mentor.
Nice review. I was afraid the drama would turn out like this. I think I'll drop it. Any dramas you recommend with…
Sound of Desert has a brave and smart FL who doesnt lose her brain cells yet is very human in the mistakes she makes. Wei Ying Luo from Yanxi Palace probably takes the cake as the strongest FL I've seen to date.
Can anyone tell me why is Wei Wu Xian & Lan Wang Ji are called by so many different names like Mo Xuan Yu & Han…
Mo Xuan Yu is the name of the person who sacrificed his body to bring WWX back to life. As for Lan Wang Ji, Han Guang Jun is his sect title (his title means Lord of Bearing Light) while Lan Zhan is sort of a shortened version of his full name Lan Wang Ji. Much like Wei Ying is WWX's other name. The Chinese often have shortened "informal" names used intermittently in place of full names.
Same actor but portrayed his two separate roles in Yin Yang Master so convincingly distinct from the other with their own set of mannerisms etc one almost couldn't tell is the same actor. That's good acting.
Unless his pic changed I don't understand the previous comments? He looks really fine. Anyway he's got this alluring maturity to his appeal rather than the typical beautiful flowerboy look popular among Asian actors nowadays, and I dig that...a lot
can you recommend me some awesome chinese drama with a lot of episode like eternal love (2017) , eternal love…
Some personal favorite classics: Sound of Desert and Prince of Lan Ling Recent classics: Joy of Life, Go Ahead, The Wolf (this one is a hit/miss for many but I loved it lol)
This is what I saw in the drama:... In the beginning he only saw her as his masters wife.. however when he was…
Right, however that whole saga was more of a catalyst to setting forth his admiration and his feelings as acknowledged by the audience. The wedding hairpin WX had given General Song for XQ seemed to be very irrelevant towards the show or completely overlooked - only for it to appear again at a climatic point of the show as if it existed to show the extent of HE's feelings go WAY back. I mean, for all we know he could have not given it to Xiao Qi imaginably cause he never knew what to do with it all along. But looking at other comments online, seems to suggest those feelings as underlying until it wasn't
Did Huai En always had feelings towards Wang Xuan? Or was it developed over time? It became clear as the show went on he was in love with her, but the hairpin flashback scene in the last ep made it seem otherwise.. thoughts? What was the novel take on this?
