I like your perspective on how you should be a good person and not just a good bf. i feel bad for tuli too. But mj teling her about their relationship even out of humanity would still have come across cocky, intrusive and entitled. It's a very tricky situation. If i were tuli and mj would've told me that they've this kind of relationship I'd have thought it's done in bad faith.
Instead they could've shown their bond developing positively in more ways than just that one incident of mj helping her out of the scam. Something that'd have even helped her build confidence without cy. So in that last scene when she confessed to cy and he said sorry there wouldn't have been that heartbreaking scene of her walking out alone.
But I'd say this, im really really really happy how they wrote tuli's character, even if more explorations can be done with it. I hate to see sfls written like evil jealous psychos while smls are always written for everyone to have sympathy for them. This show changed that trope. And like I said, i really love tuli. And chenyi needs to continue therapy for 10 yrs and learn to communicate for things to go right.

First of all, who's talking about saints and sinners here? They're all humans and so they can be flawed and frustrating. Secondly, who owes this clarification of breaking up to tuli? Is it mj? Was she having the relationship with her? Even if she suspected tuli's relationship with cy, was she sure abt it? What should she have told tuli to dispel her anxiety about cy's disinterest towards her? Should she've given her false hope? Moreover, is it her responsibility in anyway to clarify any suspicion or misunderstanding or give assurance?
When she didn't defend tuli when cy thought she was bullying mj, that she did out of jealousy i accept. (It was their second meeting. Before tuli asked her abt if cy was seeing someone.) But again did i say she's flawless. She helped tuli with that scam product refund later.
When tuli first met mj how did she react? If mj didn’t tell her that she was his sister how would you think their relationship have developed? Would she have been this friendly and secure around mj? We didn't see that side.
About her maturity: she's a 25 yo girl who's been repeatedly abandoned by people who she loved and had to build a life in an unknown place among unknown people all by herself. That she's able to love someone so much and not have a wall of china built around her as self preservation is credit in itself. That’s why im saying, she's not perfect and neither is cy. And i have my frustrations towards the situations and what cy has been doing. That’s my perspective.
Im so mad at chenyi. He didn't even go to see where miaojing went after leaving home. He just knew she'll be ok. And then he's constantly showing his jealous annoyance towards chenye whenever face to face while never clarifying to mj his and tuli's relationship.
I feel mj should always have a backup like chenye cos chenyi will again abandon her anytime he feels she's unsafe and he's protecting her. Like repeated trauma awaits her with chenyi. This kind of love hurts. From their childhood till now it's mj who comes to cy. Be it the first time when she brought him the porridge when he was sick (even when he was bullying her at that time) to now when she went back to their home after leaving it. Chenyi is more like a dad and brother material than bf.
Having said all this, this is my favorite swl character from the 1 full and 2 quarter shows I've seen of his.

Why? I mean i understand people have different tastes and bc im loving it doesn't mean everyone is but i thought it's becoming really popular and loved.
While everyone is getting annoyed at chen ye ,im noticing that chenyi started it with being a petty a$$ towards him. Don't get me wrong i love chenyi, but he can be pretty bratty and immature.
Cenyi to maojing: do u have any sense of danger? Me: yes. She lived in an alien city alone surviving by herself for 6 yrs. She's a sense of everything by now.
When miaojing came back chenyi's friend tells him: you have peace for a while... don't get yourself dragged back again. I've heard from him the same before too. Like mj is dragging him down. He has friends and that police officer guy who cares about him in spite of his ptsd and mj was shoved back into loneliness without any reason again where she'd to build everything from the start. So even if she now claws and bites at chenyi, I'll feel it's normal reaction.
I feel so bad for miao jing man like nobody wants her and keeps passing her on to another. She's a lifetime worth trauma of getting abandoned, discarded, unloved and not belonging anywhere. Finally when she started finding home with chenyi, he also didn't stop her to go with her mom. I know he thought she would get a better life with her mom but she felt abandoned again more so after just having heard his friends telling him a girl is pulling him down.
