He's a man who got curious about a forbidden magic, practiced it, performed it, faced heavy consequences, ruined his life. Jang kang story in a nutshell. The character I hate, the telling of his story is a different case.

It was a bit offputting in the whole amazing drama. They treated it as just a plot device.

Why's this btard saying his wife had an affair when clearly he screwed up and the poor wife was raped, abandoned after giving birth (dude didn't even sit beside her bed and kept making that disgusted expression) and died without knowing what was happening to her and then to top it of the rascal abandoned the kid and left people to gossip about his wife's character and Uk's birth. WTF a$$hole behaves like he's the victim. No, acknowledging the fact that Do hwa was the biggest victim won't make any difference. Peace of sh!t.
