from what I've watched in the first episode - they seems to have met in the actual real world - before she ended up in the book that she was reading/discussing about on her livestream. So, my guess is that they could possibly still end up together after the fact. Whether it's via memory connection to each person/character in the story - like how "A Dream Within A Dream" plot or better yet - like Love Game In Eastern Fantasy" - storyline maybe. - Not sure. My guess based on what I saw so far of the episodes released (ep 1-4).
thanks for the heads up - I too instantly went back to watch the part - so she becomes the main npc of the VR storyline - with a very cool and beautiful look - got him by surprised and the other two too - hehe -- but maybe Gong Huai Cong knows about it - but pretends not to know - haha... :P Either way - nice extra special ending to it - though would be a cherry ontop if they both get married to one another - and the other two are officially together as well -- their best friends.
Omg!! I hope that the 2 main lead's can clear up this messy background of theirs -- He Xiu's dad thinks it's Xiao Zhi Yu's dad that killed their friend/family member? and others - when technically it's not. His dad was framed for the collapse of the building (stadium) - I bet you a million bucks it's Mr. Pei's dad who is behind it all - him stealing the company's money - him cheating on the building materials, etc - everything that he points directly to him!
Plus Mr. Pei's dad is a violent, abusive father who should be locked away in jail! He continuously manipulates/controls him - violently hurts him physically with a golf cub! That's pure insanity/psycho!! Why is even Xiao's mom getting dragged into this relationship with him is sicko - toxic!! Adopt Xiao Zhi Yu was just to cover up his disgusting/scumbag mess!! He's pure self-centered/ego-centered/power hungry/thief/murderer/liar and so much more! If I were Mr. Pei, I get him to take action and put his so-called dad into a mental hospital jail forever without any chances of parole and he should pay a humongous fine money to all that he killed indirectly! Justice for Xiao Zhi Yu's dad! He's innocent and should not be framed/become a scapegoat to this murderer-thief Senior Pei (Mr. Pei's father). All this horrible person can do is hide behind others to cause damage and everything! He's not bloody architect! He's no designer/engineer/CEO/shareholder either - he doesn't deserve it one bit! Loser/sicko/mentally challenge jerk!
As for He Xiu and Xiao Zhi Yu - I really hope that they can clear the misunderstandings b/w the two of them and their families too. I want to see more of their romantic time together - not the loser/scumbag Senior Pei - troublemaker/murderer/thief/stalker too. I want them both with the help maybe with Mr. Pei to put his dad into jail immediately! As for Mr. Pei, I hope that he can heal properly from all the abuse he gotten from his so-called father and find someone else to love and not ruin the 2 lead's relationship too. No more trouble from him needed, thanks!

that would've been a super ideal way to end the drama - an epilogue of their lives in the modern world - living together - happily with her family and working in the restaurant occasionally - as in the modern world I think he'll be suitable to be a police officer/detective/prosecutor or can change jobs and become a CEO of a company too. If not then working together in her family restaurant together and expanding it across the nation.

They will not betray each other - as the ML (SMY) stated that their relationship is based on loyalty and at the same time - they made the promise to never let the other die - they mentioned it many times to the other people who fights them both - they also stated they'll protect each other - hence why we get SCH as now the Blood River - Patriarch and SMY ends up being the Su Family Head. SMY also promised him before SCH announcing himself as the Patriarch, that he will stand by him always - supporting him no matter what.

Ya, if only we could get a longer part of it in the modern world of them both. But then again, it's still not a too bad of an ending - at least it was a happy one, just not satisfying enough for everyone... would've love to see more of it - may be just even one more episode or a special episode would've been nice too.
Since it's a time-traveling story - we typically can't get too much of it - since it's a drama that could've not passed censorship if it wasn't done this way. sigh.
