After the fire, only he remembers her and so he does his best to write down and drew everything he can remember of her and her family... including rebuilding the restaurant of theirs and where they live, etc. He built all the things that he remembers before the fire broke out - all the small details including the things he made for her, all the dishes she and her family made, etc. Before his eventual death - when he got old, he revisited everything and recalled all those memories of theirs. He kept all of those things intact, the way he remembers of her, in case like he said one day may be she'll return to where he is and won't get lost finding the place again.
But we all know that they didn't return back to where he was in the so-called history. They are all back in the modern day world - where things have changed for the family unbeknownst to them. The only person who remembers everything that happened in the so-called past/dream was only SSG.

As for the ranking, that's pretty roughly where I would put him too. Cause he has the Sword skills that his father (the Sword God Zhuo Yuluo) passed onto him. Esp when the Patriarch knows who he is too.
Now, finishing ep 7, looks like the Dormant Dragon Sword that everyone is eyeing for - SMY is carrying it behind his back. Nobody knows about it except him and the Patriarch -- as well before he carried it - the Patriarch did asked him who deserves to bear this sword - the Dormant Dragon sword?!? Obviously, we aren't given the direct answer of who will bear it for now (as the drama switches to a different scene where we see SMY carrying the sword on his back in a big black box and head to the Su sect/family.
Interestingly before this part, the Patriarch did say he give SMY freedom after helping him removed the poison life-death blood contract/pact, but SMY stated he doesn't need to because the day he gain his special power/swords skills (when he mastered the 18 Sword Array) it already have been removed from his body - by the sword Qi when it flowed into his body and by chance it dispelled poison from him. SMY only stayed and protect the Patriarch out of loyalty and duty - as his dad (the Sword God Zhuo Yuluo) stated in the past to him - that in order to wield ones sword: "in this world honor bonds and keep your word. Forget either, and you lose the right to wield a sword."
So, now, those in the story may not know the answer - but those who have watched the other series - B.O.Y and D.Y. will know the answer - which is his buddy S.C.H and SMY remains only as as Lord Kui and Su Family head/sect leader/Umbrella Ghost of the Su Sect/Family. But I hope that they will not turn against each other -- as in preview trailer 9 looks like S.C.H turns against SMY - b/c they don't exactly think the same way?!? A bit confused.
Anyways, totally love this drama thus far -- 10/10 for me as it's full of action and love all the fight scenes in this drama! Beautifully done!! Can't wait to watch more of it - really fast pace drama! Definitely worth watching!
Sigh when will the 2 main leads - really get together before it's too late? Basing on the preview of ep 29 - they're splitting ways before the relationship even started - it's obvious he likes/loves her a lot - the two can seem to sit down and talk over things - to clear up the misunderstandings . Instead - we get to see them want to look after each other and care - but other than that -- it's stuck and seems to be going nowhere - even when we see that the main ML gets seriously injured - she gets worried sick and panics, etc. Wants him to get heal/better, etc. But when he's back up and wanting more in the relationship b/w the two - she backs off again - so this matter of ancestor thing is driving me a bit annoyed and crazy. When will they ever get to the stage of being together, getting married, etc? as there's not many episodes left to this drama at all. Just give me the express package...sigh.

I know right?!? I really hope that Shen Shao Guang really learns the real truth about her ancestor background soon - and finds out that Lin Yan has no connection to it at all.
Based on the trailer of ep 25 - when she hears that Lin Yan is going to be married to someone else -- she cries - like girl - you obviously love him - yet b/c of the mistaken ancestorial history identity - which at the current moment she still believes is true - she's doing her hardest to keep her feelings inside of her - even if it hurts her. He can see she likes him but can't openly admit it.
Honestly, I hope that they both stop holding back and really be in a proper relationship for once -- soon and I hope it's not within the last episode of the drama only or last few minutes of it either. I would be pissed off it that was the case. Plus, I also hope that she and her family wouldn't suddenly all disappeared back to the modern world and left behind the ML and everyone there - that would be weird too - but then again - the beginning part of the trailer before the drama starts - shows that she did suddenly disappear into the sky - but will that be temporary or forever - not sure. That will be very heartbreaking if it was permanent - sigh.
But I rather that they just stay where they are now and not go back to where they were originally from - b/c their restaurant is a huge success and looks like they do enjoy their life there too - despite the fact they're from the modern world - as back there - they weren't successful and living very poorly too. Sigh -- whatever the result is - I do hope it's a Happy Ending - but not like a 10 sec happy ending finished - where they all end up back in the modern world - and all the FL see is a guy that looks like the ML - and smile kinda ending - with no results at all. If you do treasure this friendship/future relationship - then open communication needs to be brought forward - honesty is how I perceive in any relationship. Running away doesn't resolve anything at all.

It was nice that when the FL was confronted by the other restaurant's family/guy wedding proposal - on the spot she purposely took the "so-called proposal cake" to make the ML jealous but at the same time, later that evening - when the ML came back just in time to actually hear her reject the other guy pretty quickly - it made the ML happy - and make the ML more concern about her too - in his heart he too love her - and wants to propose to her - but he too has to wait as well - as he's dealing with his investigation as to who actually killed his whole family and why. Until that case is resolved and his family's name is clear of guilty that was implored onto them - can he even consider about marriage - as he doesn't want to hurt the FL's family in the process too.

Having finally caught up to the most current episode of this drama that has been released - I'd say that - he (the ML) - may or may not be the actual ancestor of the FL's family - because at the beginning scene - we see the FL chasing after the cute guy (ML) who was walking very quickly down a pathway - which eventually lead her to where she is now - including her family too - so in many ways - I feel like there may be some connection to the past and present of the two worlds?!? Like throughout the drama - many things in the ML's world - has a lot of modern things in it too - at the same time -
Anyways - in terms of who is behind the ML's family massacrer - it's still remains a mystery - who I think I don't trust in the story are as follow: Prince Zhao doesn't exactly seem to be trustworthy despite the fact he rescue the ML - the Emperor - Yuan Feng, and some others. As well not sure if I can trust to Mr. Cao too.
As for the Shen family - honesty the brother and father always causes trouble and overly talkative -- like grow up more and be more mature - don't just blurt out things that can cause humongous problems for the family.
As for the 2 main leads - they really need to be honest with their feelings towards each other - clear up misunderstandings and move on in their courting/relationship with one another.

I forgot to mention - all the actors and actresses in this drama did well! Esp the chemistry between the 2 leads - William Chan and Zhao Lusi. But coming 2nd is the Xu Yan's sister (acted by Wan Peng) and her relationship with the doctor - Yu Yi Ming (acted by Tang Xiao Tian) - their relationship are quite sweet too and willing to communicate things with one another too. Plus I love the kid - Hao Chen - he's so adorable and sweet too - plus the HaoMing's family - after they open up to one another - again communication is key here - they are all the best too.
Finally finished watching it - the whole drama was definitely a slice of life kinda story. It's learning from mistakes one made (in terms of lying) and how to overcome + fix them, plus the most important key point in a relationship, is honesty, trust, open communication, understanding and care. We definitely take others for granted and we must learn to love bravely even though our past hurts have hurt us a lot. Learning to grow from these pains, moving on and holding our heads up high.
Lying doesn't get us far, as we know, it will eventually become our downfalls - including greediness, revenge, selfishness, etc.
But with unconditional love, honesty, trust, open communication and a clear conscience in any relationship will get you further than lying. Supporting one another, not judging others, not being overly self-centered/ego-centered, believe in each other will bring together a strong foundation for both parties involved - whether that be family dynamics, relationship dynamics, friendship dynamics or coworkers too - its the same thing. Without proper, real understanding - without talking over one another or assuming things - things will be more clear in any relationships out there.
Overall, I really love this drama - there were painful moments, but also joyful moments too - the life as it is - in real life - like a rollercoaster - taking challenges thrown our ways and change them into lemonades. It's okay to cry, it's okay to mistakes - it's not okay to lie - but to really be honest with one another is really important. Otherwise it'll cause a lot of misunderstandings between both parties involved.
I totally love the OST of this drama - beautifully written and matches the drama a lot completely.
I'm glad it was a happy ending - although I do wished to have seen Hao Chen together in the family picture too - alongside with both HaoMing's family and Xu Yan's family too! Would've loved to see Hao Chen make dumplings together with Xu Yan's grandma too! That would've been a cherry on top.
So, in my opinion after watching all of this is definitely 10/10 highly recommended.
