for me liu yuning was the best part of the long ballad. i agree his journey is incredible. i loved his singing with zhao lusi from many years ago. he is one of the singers i like the most.

Zhang RuoYun doesn't do that many dramas, I think he is recording season 2 of Sword Snow Stride? He is a terrific actor.

Haha i'll tell that to my mum. Yeah look I completely get why you didnt like a dream of splendor. I also didn't love him in the ingenious one. I am totally looking forward to legend of the magnate though! lets see if it lets me down like all the other dramas ive waited for over the past two years ahaha

But yes society has changed a lot, and too with it, the nature of story-telling. It's funny because whenever you see a great actor these days, you notice it instantly, because it is so NOT NORMAL for someone to be mesmerizing on screen.

Minglan is one of my mom's favourites. I will check out 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' because I'm interested how that is based on you mentioning it. Have you watched Flourished Peony? I feel like it was a bit of a mix of A Dream of Splendor and Minglan. It had some good moments (the 2nd season wasn't that great - for me I could have stopped after the 1st part).

haha well i think qianyu picks tianlu instead of shou for the game partner next week so at least we get them talking about him upset that she picked someone else. hopefully she can actually tell him she came back to the island for him.

yeah tell me about it - i remember the feeling of not being able to put down a drama and watching at 4am! i haven't had that for 2 years. everything now is mediocre and only passes as entertaining but not enthralling unfortunately!

oh yeah i completely forgot about those things! the dance from qianyu impressed shou i think! im curious how it will turn out when she reveals her feelings to him.

haha i think youd be happy if they replaced the hour with only haosu moments 😂

only watching one other series atm, 'why he is still single' on wetv. its somewhat entertaining but not something id recommend as of such 🙂

Episode 18 spoilers:

Jerry makes the funniest moment of the episode when he takes XiaXia to dance and does some thrusting motions. all the islanders laughed so hard.

Vinson gave a full drama-style "i like you, I like you a lot" to XiaXia. I don't recall anyone else on the show saying that so far (may be wrong). Xiaxia seemed to like him saying that, but moreso out of flattery rather than her reciprocating. I doubt she will like him more than a friend.

Ma and SuSu levelling up their relationship yet again. SuSu genuinely smiling happy when being interviewed about their time together. She has caught feelings big time haha

Tao actively trying to express his feelings for Autumn (through writing) and said he regretted not being more forward earlier.

i honestly didn't notice YanYan getting jealous of HaoSu but she was doing her usual thing to get attention. She was way more upset about Kevin not getting the off-island trip and then it carried through to wanting Kevin to drop everything for her which made half the episode about them.

When Autumn started talking seriously to TianLu i was thinking "even though she is rejecting him she has never once been this serious and honest with Tao!" so at the time i thought "clearly Tao and Autumn aren't meant to be because she can't be open with Tao". But then she went to Tao directly after and actually had a honest discussion with him (despite being drained from talking to TianLu). I liked how she made herself clear to Tao that she's not interested in dating on the show, but would like to get to know him after the show when the cameras aren't there. That showed she is not at all comfortable with showing her full self on camera but would like to see if they are compatible in the future.

Oh and I loved that Autumn hinted to Jerry that both him and Vinson are likely not XiaXias type haha

HaoSu was funny and entertaining as usual. So undeniable chemistry now. They just love spending time together and showing their affection through small gestures. Very very sweet. <3

yeah this series has something for everyone. definitely worth it.

Have watched the latest two episodes now. Truth be told I skip the Puwang and Panhui scenes (i know i know im an outsider on this matter but both those couples have 0 appeal to me).

Loved MaSu steping on the one brick together - was a significant gesture.

Vinson showed as a pretty cool guy. I still think he has 0% chance of XiaXia actually liking him though

My main ship of Tao x Autumn looking not great. Autumn really making as many road blocks as she can for my man. Hate to see it.

MaSu so unexpected and yet somewhat so genuine. It's a really nice thing to see them support each other every step of the way. <3

Qianyu is honestly the girl I like the most. I myself would pursue her if i was on the show. She is reserved and graceful. Shou said he is not interested yet has given her a few mixed signals, and then saying he doesn't care for her (indirectly) was like "yikes!" really like him trying to make a clear line he is not into her. I don't have much hope for them. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah Tutu and Xiyao were a great couple to watch.

It will be very interesting to see if Ma comes out of his shell now he has feelings for SuSu. :)

I honestly had to skip Jerry's singing haha i couldn't handle it. He's a character all right but imagine having that chaotic energy in your face. I've met people like that, it's a lot! WHY KONGKONG she's done nothing wrong to merit having someone yapping so much haha

also looking forward to seeing if there will be any water in the dry desert between vinson and xiaxia (i highly doubt it).

Autumn has more defenses than a military base. She 100% likes him but won't let herself get hurt so she diverts from any time it gets serious.

i dont think its possible Autumn will be interested in TianLu.

KongKong is nice but Tao you can tell was never into her even when she confessed to him.

we finally got our SuSu x Ma paring in the latest episode (14). SuSu said things changed when he put the cream on her feet. kind of cute! love how their relationship has developed over the episodes.

Autumn still on the fence with Tao. Maybe with TianLu after her next week, Tao will express his feelings more clearly but its super challenging to be vunerable to do that when Autumn isn't willing to engage in a serious talk with Tao ah my poor heart can't handle it

side notes: Yanyan can sing well and HuiHui was a good dancer. Xiao Pan dancing impromtu with HuiHui shows he didn't care to embarass himself, being with HuiHui was the most important factor which was a huge green flag.
