I just binge watched the first three episodes and I already regret it. I shouldβve waited for the whole series to drop and then binged it properly. In my defense, I really did not expect it to be THIS good! That confession scene absolutely destroyed meβ¦ it was so intense!
Just finished first episode. My first impression is that Xia Liuyi is very puppy like. Is he supposed to be a…
It's always fascinating to see what stands out to different people after the first episode. I'm glad the story has already hooked you. That's exactly how I felt after episode one.
I'm watching 1st episode on YouTube. Did they do voiceover in different dialect ?? Where can I watch it in their…
There isn't an original version you can watch. The actors performed their lines in Mandarin, but the series was intentionally dubbed into Cantonese because the story is set in Hong Kong. That's why the lip movements don't match the audio. It can be a little distracting at first, but the story is sooo good that once you get into it, you stop paying attention to it.
Thank you so much for replying to my review! When I got the notification for this, it honestly made me light up.…
Thank you, that's so sweet of you to say! But I think you're giving me way too much credit π I tend to ramble far more than I should whenever I'm talking about something I love too π₯Ή
The reason I replied in the first place is because reading your review genuinely felt like reading my own thoughts and feelings about the series. There were so many moments where I found myself nodding along and thinking, "Yes, exactly this." It's actually pretty rare for me to come across a review that captures so much of what I felt while watching.
I always enjoy hearing how different people experienced the same story, especially when it's one that left such a strong impression on me. Also, if I'm being completely honest, I never need much encouragement to talk about SCD π So between finding your review incredibly relatable and seeing that invitation for discussion, there was no way I wasn't going to leave a comment. I'm really glad my reply made you happy π
I got the same impression too. It never really felt like he had those kinds of feelings for Qing Long in the drama.…
I see, kind of like Gold Class Fighter, which I am reading right now. Although, as I said, I am still fairly early into it. Well, actually, I am getting close to the middle of the novel now, and I am not exactly blown away by it. I think it is mostly the writing. It feels a bit shallow, for lack of a better word. The plot and the characters are genuinely interesting, though, which is why I have kept reading.

Right now it is not so much a matter of whether I have the time, but how much motivation I have to invest in another series. I am already watching a few, and I cannot even fully invest in those or enjoy them as much as I probably would under different circumstances. So I think it is better not to start this one yet. I saw that it has quite a lot of episodes, and I am worried I would not give it the attention it seems to deserve.
And of course I will watch the AvenueX videos you mentioned! Honestly, they are one more reason why I want to watch the series now π
Wait, you saw my comments too? I really cannot hide anywhere. π€£ But seriously, I really appreciated how quickly they uploaded the chapters and that they did not keep us waiting, especially since the translation quality was actually quite decent.
And yes, I already know they are translating Ant's Cry. They actually told me themselves in one of the comments. π I am waiting for them to finish it, or at least get close to the end, before I start reading it. I hope it is, if not as good as Sammy's, at least a pretty good read. I like this author's writing style a lot. Also, you probably already know this since you seem to be a regular there as well π , but they are also translating two other novels by Su Erliang, the author of Four Faced Buddha. One of them was actually my suggestion π I have not started either of those yet, though. I am waiting for them to make more progress before I dive in.
Imagine if we had 5 more eps at this point in addition to the 9 we got...yes I am being delulu
It was! In fact, up until the day the very first episode dropped, MDL was still listing it as having 12 episodes, and then suddenly it was changed to 9...
Well, anyway, who can blame them? π€£
