iirc it's a law that dramas can be only 40 episodes. i guess that applies even for web dramas...i hope we will…
i guess the negotiation with regulators was more annoying than cutting the drama shorter haha! anyways, i wasnt aware of that! hopefully that means there is a higher chance that we will get some bonus footage in the future :))
how is this show related to legend of yun xi? which one am i supposed to watch first? ^^'
its not related, people just keep adding the drama to that section because it has almost identical cast. watch first the drama you find more interesting :))
imo it's hard to say whitch drama is better but i like Ruyi Pavilion more because it has more sweet moments between main leads :3c there are few Yun Xi easter eggs in Ruyi Pavilion, though so probably its better to start with yun xi? but you dont have to watch one to understand the other :))
If this drama had been cut down from 48 to 40 then that would explain why some episodes seem jarring and rushed.…

are only chinese subscribers counted? or can we as international fans also help to reach 3 milion?
haha okay, i hope we will figure it out :) just in case it mattered i went to chinese iqiyi and gave a heart to every accessible episode of the show :D
I agree it was rather cruel...especially when Mr Ge (do we know his full name? I can't remember) told her the…
i can definitely understand why she didnt fully trust Furong but they definitely could have come up with something similarly dangerous to test her but still a bit less... fatal. imagine if mr Ge wasnt fast enough or something haha
okay but am i the only one who thought that the "test" Xu Jin's mother made for Fu Rong was kinda... cruel? Fu Rong literally almost sacrificed herself?????? on the other hand, i find it incredibly funny they compressed almost the whole Yun Xi main storyline/idea into like 20 minutes hahhahha
DUDEEEE DONT MAKE ME AGREE 10/10 nooo ?? honestly i hate fu rong after her master’s death.
i mean... i get it, she's super confused and duke Su did seem suspicious but still... i cant believe she decided to attack him like that during the wedding :///
(episode 19) Duke Su insisting on Fu Rong being his only wife :') ♥ ... he loves her so much i'm---- ZZH's face expressions in these two episodes are so good :O
(episode 20) AAAAAHHHH what is all that miscomunication??? am i watching korean romcom??????? they've been so damn good together before a marriage and now they arent even looking at each other D: They've been married for like a day or what and Fu Rong wants to split up? she thinks this is some Britney Spears/Jason Alexander marriage or what? also... wow Duke An is so. damn. pathetic as a villain. what the heck
I'm keen to know your thoughts about this trend to translate "wang" here as "duke".
"If I had to guess, the translator is just trying to make the point that the emperor has not designated an heir."
i dont speak mandarin so i cant speak on that account but as a profesional translator, my guess is that translator went for "Duke" instead of "Prince" because the word duke is shorter. it's only 2 characters but it makes immense difference in subtitles, especially if you have to use that title literally all the time and there are many technical rules to abide by while subtitling. as a viewer, i wish they used "Prince" cause it took me embarassingly long time and the character map we have here to realize he's king's son/prince hahha
Question for the Yun Xi viewers (I didn't watch it):
as much as i would dont mind that to be a thing, i think it's the safest to say that what user jvinhpham0912 said in their comment is what probably happened. Yun Xi was popular and they probably wanted to replicate it and double down on all good things the drama gave us
I wonder where to watch... I didn't find it on dramacool
If you are willing to wait a few months, all KBS drama specials are eventually uploaded oficially on KBS world official youtube channel with engsub and in best possible quality
