What was that ending... made no sense? How is she talking to her younger self?
I really feel like I wasted 60hrs watching this drama... literally half the time this drama lost my attention during the talking parts where they just repeat the same dramatic lines over and over again. The last 10 episodes was even worse, it was too melodramatic and overly sentimental. I couldn't care less about their love triangle because i just begged the drama to be faster paced.
First chinese drama ever watched and I think this has set the bar very high for me. I'm trying to find other chinese…
Scarlet Heart, Three Kingdoms, Princess Pearl, Sound of the Desert, Legend of Condor Heroes, Vigilantes in Masks, Legend of Hua Mulan are some of the top historical setting ones
I kind of want to watch this drama but I'm afraid it'll be another melodrama focusing too much on Wallace's 'good…
I watched this drama, it was ok. I think the portrayal of the heroine and her family was done very well, I laughed with them, cried with them, and even hated her brother for a while. Wallace was... not terrible in here. I mean I find his portrayal of a soldier to be a bit fake and looks like a spoiled prince, but that seemed to be the point in this drama; the fact he came from a rich family and goes to war against his father's wishes. I gave this drama a 8/10.
I'm trying really hard to understand this drama, the first few episodes about the young girl was good. But once things entered the court everything flew over my head. Beside the King and his wife/daughter I don't know any of the ranks these nobles and 'people' hold, especially Mishil's role? Why is she so powerful in the court? I'm on episode 12 now and for the past 4 episodes I have no idea what kind of army the twin girl joined, and yea... I'm so lost.
Lol somehow reading a stalker's guide on a child actress automatically leads me to think of pedophile. No don't take it as a criticism, it's just sort of amusing.
is it me, but I am very lost in the first episode!!!
Yea the beginning is extremely confusing with the introduction of so many characters... but it did the job of keeping viewers curious to know what is the point of all these characters. I know that's how it was for me, i paid extra attention to the dialogues and every new character's name to try and make connection between who is related to who.
I kind of want to watch this drama but I'm afraid it'll be another melodrama focusing too much on Wallace's 'good looks'. To be honest I'm not too impressed by him but I'm willing to try this drama if it has a good plot and characters.
The ending came as a sort of surprise (not the pleasant kind). Overall only thing i want to applaud this drama for is good acting aka. well portrayed characters. Divorce is a interesting topic but this drama did a bad job of portraying the social economic situation of divorce and focused too much on making every divorce case personal. That's a very bad example of how lawyers work, I wouldn't trust any of the legal stuff portrayed in this drama as it was very unrealistic. Or myabe this is just how the legal system in China works, but I really hope that's not the case.
Beginning can be a bit overwhelming so maybe they didn't do the best job at introducing everyone but if you are…
I think you should definitely read/watch Three Kingdoms if you haven't already. It's really intricatly plotted and better than Nirvana in Fire in terms of strategy. But where Mei Chang Su has no one who can match his strategic powers, in Three Kingdoms Zu Ge Lian has Cao Cao who can be his equal.
I... don't see the appeal of this drama at all. I find Huo Wallace hot but I still don't enjoy this drama at all and I'm on episode 3 already. Maybe it's because his Taiwanese accent when speaking mandarin is so obvious, so he forces himself to speak slooowly and pronounce every word without accent, but the way he talks is quite annoying for me. Also... Sherlock music?! As a Sherlock TV fan I find myself offended on its behalf, especially considering Wallace's imitation is subpar and boring. He just puts on a blank face and rich-I know it all attitude there's no passion for solving the crime that's iconic of Sherlock. Romance is ehh ok so far... The heorine is acceptable, but Wallace is not.
I noticed that this drama was rated really high, so I decided to watch it. Normally, there is not many historical…
I think you picked one of the best historical drama to attempt. Yea the story is confusing and having to watch this on translation does not help, I notice sometime viki's translation is not interpreted the same way i understand... So I definitely understand the confusion, especially familial relationship between the royalty and the aristocrats/nobles is confusing as heck and took me super long time to know who is related to who xD With the politics aside I think this drama is still super enjoyable because the casts make such a good family, their relationship and bromance is so cute and adorable ^^ Fei Liu is just so cute, and all of the good guys are funny and often comedic.
I really don't like the cloths in this time period... It's like a mix of all the worst fashion sense from historical and from modern and combined to create the worst looking cloths of all time.
I'm on episode 15 of this drama and it feels like I spend a infinity watching Wu Ze Tian's relationship with Emperor Taizong when I know historically she was a none-factor and spend 10 years being the lowest rank of wife <.< God is the story dragging.
I'm at ep 9 now. Is it just me who feels extremely disgusted by Ruo Xi liking her sister's husband? D:
If by disgusted you mean finding the guy bad looking and ugly, then yes. But if you mean morally wrong to fall in love with your sister's husband, then I don't think so. Keep in mind in that time period a prince is allowed to wed several women, and it is very common for sisters to wed the same man. It is better all around, everyone is more familiar with each other.
I just don't know why it's on top, but considering the Plot??.. OK fine, it's good.... But the execution is NOT…
If you don't like noona romance why did you watch it? It's not like you weren't warned by the summery. Lee Jong Suk's face/boyishness fits his role in this case and made the drama more realistic given the age difference between the characters. Have you seen many 19 year olds, they are not very 'manly', perhaps you are better off seeking another drama to watch <.<;;
