Love the article and analysis...I'm very shocked that there aren't more modern K-dramas that are everyone's "classic faves" (Goblin, Descendants of the Sun, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Strong Woman Do BongSu, W, Its Okay to Not Be Okay, etc.). Of this list, I honestly have only watched Secretary Kim and Do BongSu.
I'm wondering if it's because popularity (everyone's comfort rewatches or people's first dramas that they have an emotional attachment to) don't signify story quality? Or was this list skewed by people's bias (fans voting for their fav actor/actress)?

I have no idea...I have not watched most of these dramas because I mostly watch modern C-Dramas

I would agree, that if you didn't understand 70% of the Chinese spoken in the drama, not having subs would definitely damage the experience LOLL

didn't read the book but according to the online synopsis, its bc his sister was injured in a car crash indirectly caused by Fang ZhiJing (I'm only on ep 6 and I don't think I have met him yet...but I think it's someone involved in their business). So ML beat up Fang ZhiJing and got sentenced to prison.

towards the end was a little more cheesy dramatic...not entirely sure how it could've been better, but it wasn't the worst I've ever seen
but I don't think it should be any shorter (just looking at the quality of shorter web dramas like those 5 min or even 10 min one...no. I have never seen a quality 5 or 10 min web drama...30 min with 24 eps is ok in order to get decent execution of the storyline).

honestly underrated!!! the storyline is unique enough and production isn't too bad (ehh maybe a handful of weird voiceovers and awkward greenscreens scattered). But I really loved the characters and the execution and I think production for the most part was not too bad.

perfect length for the storyline (if you really calculate it out, it's like a classic 12 ep k-drama)
