Recognize 2 cast mates from "Boss & Me" here, guess Zhang Han must really have good friendship with 'em after…
yahh seems like a lot of the cast had at least one other drama with ZhangHan I really like ZhangHan as an actor (I've only seen Boss & Me and Sunshine of My Life...he's acting as boss/CEO in both). Not sure what it is...something about his line delivery or something...very clear/crisp, assertive, but natural
hmmm I think its also the filter/color correction they use (seems to make it more serious...and music makes it more slice of life) in addition to the florescent lighting of the hospital 2010-2012 dramas were way worse than this LOLLL this just seems like a typical iQiyi low-mid-budget drama (there are definitely lower budget dramas worse than this created in 2021). They announced this drama in Aug 2021 according to Baidu I feel like good quality productions/cinematography weren't a norm until 2017 or 2019 tbh
main characters are male so most of the storyline and narration is from a male perspective (mainly the ML) but…
ep 12 there was one scene with the boys and four girls (girls were mostly were meeting for the first time) and the girls' convo started off SOOOOO catty. The snarky comments came out of nowhere. And then the convo ended up with them all friendly. The narration commentary was that it was so awkward but somehow women can be enemies one second and then best girlfriends the next second. I think it's definitely happens (the commentary is valid) but the unnecessary jabs that happened in the first part of the scene just really rubbed me the wrong way (there's usually a legit reason for a snarky comment).
main characters are male so most of the storyline and narration is from a male perspective (mainly the ML) but I don't see particular approval/encouragement of misogyny and mistreatment of women. We see different types of men and many different types of women as well. I think so far, it's a good slice-of-life with good characters and great acting the only scene that was iffy was (see spoiler below)
1/3 of the way through the movie rnthe comedy and production/post-production is GOLDDD
oh that was so good I didn't mind the ending at all...it was a classic bittersweet ending and the ending cut-scene was also good to lighten it up a bit (an imaginary scenario that would be unfortunately impossible to be reality but is still grounded in the spirit of the rest of the movie)
awww I LIKE THISSSS had this on my list since the trailer came out but never got in the mood to watch it until now. these 8 episodes alone are pulling up the standard of the C-drama industry. think sundance quality (wouldn't be as bold to say a winner, but I feel like it could enter) but its chinese. the story is predictable and has been told before but what isn't nowadays? execution makes all the difference and they executed it perfectly. I also think 8 eps was the perfect length idk how to explain it!! when has any drama ever been the perfect length?? you could've squeezed the storyline into a movie but it wouldn't an enjoyable, chill pace.
A+++ acting, production (for a modern chinese drama), editing, story pacing, song choices, etc.
I've always wondered why I liked Go Go Squid so much (I've rewatched like 3 times LOLL) I don't like the flashback scenes (I skip over) and I skip most gaming scenes but I still really love this drama. This time that I rewatched I finally figured it out. The acting/chemistry of the leads *and* all the side characters and the OST. There was also no backstabing or major angst in that way...but the storyline was still substantial enough It's just an overall feel-good drama. Romance is cute, bromance is hillarious, winning is exhilarating, backstory is nostalgic. It's a good combo
haha just wrote a reviewno angst! romance feels a bit slow at times (given context) but there's no doubt they'll…
no breakups and there was a love triangle but it's not as angsty/backstabbing as some other dramas. I would say its the typical "FL treats SML is a brother even though SML likes FL" storyline that ends with them still being friends

video quality and editing reminds me of 2013
