love me some Esther but boi is this character annoying....like Stand up lady...plus i'm searching for the logic…
I think it has to do with how she grew up (when she was young she was bullied for being "ugly" despite her name meaning "beautiful person" and she was always top of the class. now she wants to build her persona around being pretty rather than ugly and smart. So even so once in a while her "nerdy" side comes out, she's putting high effort in being pretty and cute...and cute is classically associated with ditsy) it's a really basic character/personality layout so I don't blame you for thinking it's dumb. I'm just watching for the lightness. but also I think it's part of her "revenge" bc she recalled him standing her up in college, calling her stupid, and saying he doesn't like stupid people. So she's trying to get him while acting stupid
The title of this drama is literaly on point this girl is « So Young »!!!! She is 14, Why are all the leads…
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvqyLyQEHtE does seem like there's some youth romance/crushes going on ngl she looks 17 though but I'm deaddddd they are going to make Shi An (40 yo) act as a student? and Ross Chen (30 yo) is a student too LOLLL. They don't look too old in the pics and it doesn't look too obvious in that 720p trailer...but it's probably going to be obvious somewhere in the drama
she also talks like that in other dramas too...Moonlight is one of my fave dramas so I've just gotten used to…
yah the way her character is written I guess makes her act "cutesy" on purpose (and show that she is by over-dosing it and having those slow shots) which is definitely more annoying than having a cute and happy-go-lucky personality not on purpose
Esther's voice is really getting on my nerves. I would recommend no one binge this one. I just watched 1-9 and…
she also talks like that in other dramas too...Moonlight is one of my fave dramas so I've just gotten used to it but yah, its kindof her real voice (like preferred voice? not everyone has just one voice/way they hold themselves)
Recognize 2 cast mates from "Boss & Me" here, guess Zhang Han must really have good friendship with 'em after…
yahh seems like a lot of the cast had at least one other drama with ZhangHan I really like ZhangHan as an actor (I've only seen Boss & Me and Sunshine of My Life...he's acting as boss/CEO in both). Not sure what it is...something about his line delivery or something...very clear/crisp, assertive, but natural
hmmm I think its also the filter/color correction they use (seems to make it more serious...and music makes it more slice of life) in addition to the florescent lighting of the hospital 2010-2012 dramas were way worse than this LOLLL this just seems like a typical iQiyi low-mid-budget drama (there are definitely lower budget dramas worse than this created in 2021). They announced this drama in Aug 2021 according to Baidu I feel like good quality productions/cinematography weren't a norm until 2017 or 2019 tbh
main characters are male so most of the storyline and narration is from a male perspective (mainly the ML) but…
ep 12 there was one scene with the boys and four girls (girls were mostly were meeting for the first time) and the girls' convo started off SOOOOO catty. The snarky comments came out of nowhere. And then the convo ended up with them all friendly. The narration commentary was that it was so awkward but somehow women can be enemies one second and then best girlfriends the next second. I think it's definitely happens (the commentary is valid) but the unnecessary jabs that happened in the first part of the scene just really rubbed me the wrong way (there's usually a legit reason for a snarky comment).
main characters are male so most of the storyline and narration is from a male perspective (mainly the ML) but I don't see particular approval/encouragement of misogyny and mistreatment of women. We see different types of men and many different types of women as well. I think so far, it's a good slice-of-life with good characters and great acting the only scene that was iffy was (see spoiler below)
1/3 of the way through the movie rnthe comedy and production/post-production is GOLDDD
oh that was so good I didn't mind the ending at all...it was a classic bittersweet ending and the ending cut-scene was also good to lighten it up a bit (an imaginary scenario that would be unfortunately impossible to be reality but is still grounded in the spirit of the rest of the movie)

like it just makes his character so 2D
