Can anyone provide some insight or a mini-review into the romance for this one (i.e. what the dynamic is like,…
In the first handful of episodes (and now that I think of it, might be just over a third of the drama) it's is a bit difficult to watch because it seems like harassment at that point. But this dynamic definitely changes. And the ML's best friend has balanced and thoughtful opinions/ways of thinking, so I think it helps a bit, knowing that not everyone approves of ML's behavior. So I would say there really are red flags, but I think this drama sets up the ML for growth, and that might be the takeaway at the end. Still have 10 eps to go, so I'm excited.
Lol, I don’t think the male lead is that bad. I watched up to Episode 20 and I think a lot of people misunderstood…
On ep 19 now but I definitely agree a lot with what you're saying. On the friend YuHang: it could be the alternative motive to make ML realize he likes FL, but I feel like it could be a truely honest observation that ML has liked the girl for so long that YuHang thinks it really is the only love ML knows. I think actions like YuHang preventing SiTian from bringing FL to the ML and YiMeng shows that YuHang is really a mediator trying to create the best outcome for everyone and trying to prevent anyone from getting hurt. If he had that alternative motive, he would be hurting YiMeng who is depressed, which doesn't match YuHang as a thoughtful character. He's the nice guy/great friend that actually gets a girl ;)
On another note: ML's very obvious flaws now of how he treats people not matching what he really means only means there's room for character growth. I'm glad we watched past the first few eps where we can finally see his inside.
While I like the little bits of humor sprinkled in and the romance in the air, I think my favorite part so far was the obstacles that the FL faces after the first handful of episodes...its this realistic feeling of "that's just life"...not the basic obstacles like someone is out to get her. While she's the main character of the drama were watching, she's not the main character in their world. Also can we talk about what a QUEEENNNN Ms. Shi is??? The theme of female empowerment through mentorship was something I was not expecting. love it.
ahhh rewatched this and one again, it didn't disappoint Very appropriate character growth and pacing for this length of drama (although I have a really hard time believing the real timeline of...what...< a year? you don't realize it unless they talk about time though so it's not a big issue) One thing I really like is that our main characters/love triangles have no sabbatoge
the coach and psychologist went through his room without his permission ? what kind of psychologist is that?
Although the coach did say that normally they can't do this but its a special situation so it was an exception, I still feel like its crossing the line too
I'm also not the biggest fan of the Dr....I was especially concerned when she had a patient visit her at her house (nothing special, but I feel like that in itself is not professional)
didnt wanna write a review but seeing so many bad reviews made me want to justify the drama a little bit. Honestly,…
I definitely agree with you! Although it does seem a bit draggy/slow paced at times, they cover those issues well (not too dramatic but not too quick/lightly). Also, for me, its a good thing that its slowly paced like this; I don't feel like I need to binge everything at once (and I can have a regular sleep schedule), but I always come back (honestly bc there's nothing better to watch rn HAHA) I do have to say, the first couple episodes did feel faster, like a 24 ep watch, so I can see where people are coming from. But if you don't attempt to binge, then its easier to adjust to the new pacing after the beginning episodes.
ahhh why cant current cdramas have audio like this anymore. I'm really not a big fan of unnecessary overly crisp dubbing. (I know dubbing allows other actors with regional accents to just get dubbed over but its just nice to not have an overly crisp voice all the time).
so excited
