Out of curiosity where did you watch this, Viki or not? There is a version floating around out there with some music that had to be altered, probably due to licensing (for example if you watch it on onetouchtv.co, episode 8 they've replaced an emotional song with some goofy track)

lol a lot is sooo retro/outdated about this drama, music, cinematography, wardrobe..but that's part of its charm (for a lot of people)

You know nothing, what you're talking about as being a "repetitive storyline" is an entire trope. They repeat them intentionally with changes because it's something that people love and is successful. This is unique enough to be new while still checking the boxes of the lovers of this genre's expectations.

Everyone likes different things so you'll have to try it for yourself. But no I thought the first two episodes were slow and not in a good way. Boring.

Can’t say I agree, I’m not gen Z and I love this and I also found it much better/deeper than just a typical youth plot.

Same it was so boring and I know the ML is super popular (might have something to do with this drama's popularity I'm sure) but imo he's not a good actor he was incredibly stiff. I kept giving this drama a try but had to drop it and not only because of that.

I'm sure it had to do with the YAI scandal somehow, the writing is so messed up almost like they had to go back and rewrite & reedit too, to the point that it's convoluted.

He is a pretty featured main character.
