ok, just watching this for the first time, and even though I am of Chinese origin, I know sadly not a lot about the lore and the myth of the country of my ancestors. (well apart from all the HongKong dramas in the 80/90s when I was a kid and teanger)

so some lore in this, I recognize, but lots I do not, and I probably need to rewatch and read lots of background information , to fully understand this.
but waoh, this cinematography is amazing, and even though I don't recognize most of the actors (they don't look like the current typical idols ones) the king! WOW the kings physicality and his well, all the "real" bodies sort of , male actors, when they ware dancing in the beginning.
that doesn't look fake or using AI at all. so they probably didn't fake and photoshopped their way, right?
even the faces , sure enough, makeup, but no filters like all the s-class dramas with idols in all those fantasy wuxia to xianxia c-dramas!
its just... i am so used to all the filtering, seeing real faces with real skin texture , its like woah!
anyway, I am rambling, going to have dinner, and then maybe rewatching!

probably a monetary license issue. the more countries they want to make it available, so more they have to pay.
and lets be honest, the audience for such a movie, in germany?

Actually i find the novel quite more wacky than the drama, but thats a given, coz Chinese censorship would certainly let a Ton of stuff not through. My stance is, every incarnation and Adaption should be judged on its, and given its merit. To compare usually is unfair coz the Medium is usually different. Novel, Drama, movie, or turning into a Electronic Digital game, or just a Brettspiel (sorry dont know what the english Word for that is right now).
