yes, i have been rewatching from the beginning as well! not just because the fight scenes are like droolworthy and should be rewatched every day, but also, wahh clues about clues, hints upon hints! its like the russian matroschka doll! you demasked one layer, and you discover another five layers of hierarchies and power structures inside!
its just so crazily fun! i am actually glad, not knowing any other sources, or dont remember, how their fates , all of their fates are going to be, (well except for prince langyas fate, but well... thats the only one!)
YOUKU always gets the better series as well. I've had WeTV now for about 3 years and don't watch it anywhere near…

then china took over hongkong, and the tv industry their went into decline, but on the other hand, c-dramas were in the infant stage, so i stopped watching hongkong canto dramas alltogether, for about 10 years, and purely spend time watching US shows. that decade between 2000 - 2010 was still great with american dramas. and even british dramas like BBC sherlock or BBC merlin. both were GORGEOUS, and the brits didnt even had that budget like Hollywood.
but us tv shows got worse with every year from 2010 onwards... and bam, nirvana in fire came in 2016, and that was the turning point, where my eyes and my sight went back to Asia. i skipped everything j-popculture (except for maybe long time ago, sailor moon, and lady oscar) and also skipped most of k-pop. i went straigt to c-dramas, and for over 8 years, havent left.
unless, US producers starts having fucking better fantasy dramas, i wont return.
i just had a funny thought, and realized, coz 2 weeks ago, I watched Tron :Ares: honestly, its been ok, and not deserving all the bad critics, it did have a diverse cast, and it did feel organic, and not like some people would like to force down my throat some hidden agenda about whatsoever, that each ethnic, has to be equally represented.
BUT, in terms of riveting F/X, i love all the cdramas better. they don't have the billion budget like US movies and TV shows, and still , the worldbuilding and sword fighting? can blow away, and US production any time.
honestly, if rings of power had a fraction of the level of storytelling and gorgeous magic sword fighting scenes (not to mentioned, immortal like looking cast?) of Cdramas? i would return to Hollywood immediately , sighss...

you seemed to have analyse it perfectly, why BR has been surpassing the other ones so far. yeah, the smaller interconnected stories, as well as how all the characters are related and interwoven into each other. and honestly, its a really huge cast with lots of side characters, and me personally, it helps, that i can remember some of them from before, (BoY, and DY), even though i try my best not to remember their fates so that i wont be spoiled in BR. and of course, it helps, that all the so called villains and heroes in BR, well they are not clean cut, each and every single one of them, has some sort of background and blood on their hands. which is, fair enough, its jiang hu, so killing is what everyone does, intent aside. even our ML , is a killer, so what, its been what he has been trained for, and its not like he had choice.
i admit, i am not tending to analyse the dramas, for the exact reasons, why i like some so much. usually, i just go with my feelings and the flow, and if it works, it works. if not, i move on. most thing, like the final product, its beyond what the actors and actresses aside from their acting, can influence. hating or blaming them for failure , is in most of the time, unfair anway. how the eps are cut, how the director puts everything together, how the script is written, mostly is beyond their means of control
i mean, with some, i know why i dislike them, like there are some actors, for the hell, i cannot work with their visuals (it even makes me angry at myself, coz i cannot get into them, coz some of their dramas are probably worth it, but if the human actors and visuals just dont click with me... i dont know how to change that )

i actually dont need some weird competition, and i dont like to support competition. everytone should just use youtube to glance and check out the first episodes of each drama, and then see, if it keeps them engage, and then go on and continue with the show, that speaks most to oneself.
all that weird haters and trolls, and numbers and heat index, its just ... taking away what really matters: and that is, what drama speaks most to yourself.

they all have gorgeous MLs - and the story is far from boring or bad, it keeps me interested, but they dont make me feel addicted like BR when the new eps of those dramas ends, its not like a bloody hell cliffhanger, where you feel like praying to heaven, that tomorrow cannot come fast enough, ´so that there are new eps.

I saw since the last marvel arc.

i have no bloody idea, what this heat index is supposed to represent, but i find the entire blood river ensemble and the story, and ogosh, the fights, all the entire package together, to just... overwhelming good.

i know we are still in october, but just finished ep 16, damn, they have been able to keep up the pace throughout all eps so far, this is the MOST riveting drama I have seen this year so far.

cheng yi is *dies*, so gorgeous and pretty (if I were a man, I am certain for 99% i would just turn gay for him) and the fighting scenes soooooooooooooooo beautiful! between this, blood river (fighting scenes with F/X is another level of gorgeous), and whispers of fate, not to mentioned I haven't even started love in the clouds and journey of legend, I am pretty sure, the only thing keeping up with 10 hours worddays, is , without a job, I didn't have money to pay for all of this !
(I would rather spend 10 hours a day, watching all updated eps... but then, I get fired, and living under a bridge with no salary to pay rent, food and subscriptions would not be beneficial to have access to dramas...) sighs.. must pack luggage, next week is business trip. the only good thing, when I am back, I can at least catch with 10 eps per drama...
I love blood river so much, it's the second drama this year, where I give youku my money for subscription, the first one being this one 💐💐🎉🎉
