yeah, i just wish, you know, for f*cks sake, if they dont want it in China itself, then why dont allow it for the network / production studios to release them to the international audience? they have such a fabulous internet firewall around their country, they have perfect surveillance , fine, no chinese in china is allowed to see this. let the studious make money, with the rest of the world. I would happily pay for weTV and youku or whatever app, IF they just give me those two dramas!

i would immidiately pay for a subscription at weTV or youko or whatever, if they would confirmed for sure that there is going to be a sequel with the same cast :D

i think like most watchers, though the relationship between xiao chuhe and the FL was not really ... balanced.
if the original novel and narrative has been changed, then it makes more sense now.

yeah, well, most families are not royality, so thank heaven, no need for killing everyone. most normal families are just disfunctional and toxic on a human level .

i mean look at the british royals. LOL, i try to imagine if william and harry in former ages would try to kill each other. (of course, they would wait, until their mother is dead...)

i remember that version as well, though at that time, my interest in the HKG dramas didnt fade yet, but it was getting weaker. i was busy with my college degree, and then deciding for which university degree to go. slowly my interest in those dramas got lost (also coz the Hongkong drama industry declined, with the takeover by china. )
back then, I told my aunts in 2005, when those Chinese dramas reach a level of narrating and FX well above the golden age of TVB?

its comforting to know, i am not the only one disappointed by both this one, and unchained.
but alas, i guess, i loved untamed, and i loved that cast, but you know, worshipping certain characters like Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, simply doesnt translate in mindlessly loving all dramas from both the actors xiao zhan and Wang Yibo. (i really tried to get into their later dramas, except... it didnt work as well).

funnily though, one of my most fav scene is the one , where Chuho was in the sword tomb, and meet his inner demon in the form of his kingly father.
the speech he gave was beautiful.

lol you are right though, the villain prince was such a parody, it did have an reverse effect on me, i actually started to like him, coz well, its soo badly written, its kind of funny.
plus, the hero was so elevated, i started really to feel honest pity for all other princes, whether they were villains or not.

they put chuhe on such a high pedestal, it was.... at times difficult to like him. well, at least for me.

awww now you made me wanting to go down memory lane and watch The Smiling, Proud Wanderer from my childhood, the TVB Hongkong version from 1983 ! that cast back then, with chow yun fat , was also brilliant.

i am huge fan of SSS, but i cannot really see, how you can compare that drama with this one.
both are excellent though.

SSS i cant remember this kind of brotherhood, that Blood of youth had.
the ML in SSS was brilliant, but he had siblings, friends and subordinates. not really the kind of sworn brotherhood like here.

i loved dylan wang in can lan jun, and tried for him , unchained love (sorry, but the trial failed, LOL, I could not get through the story of unchained love). plus, the trailer for unchained love suggested something dark, but from watching a few eps, its like false advertising. sighs. i gave it up, I will fast forward through all eps, just to watch Dylans face, but that's it.
the king is annoying, the FL does nothing for me, and the empress dowager nothing as well.

so, I loved li hong yi in blood of youth, and thought, well, must give this a try... LOL, I don't understand the story at all. plus, the FL again, does nothing for me.
meaning, I will give it a second glance, once all eps are available.

and will for now, try to watch queen lau, and see, if its somewhat humorous.
oh wait, they dropped league of gentlemen today!
must give that a try, there seems to be a controversy about whether or not that new drama counts as BL romance or just bromance or just mystery detective thing.

i absolutely adore this drama: except for one point:
everyone and the king himself, they are just... kept on saying and repeating how much xiao se is THE favorite and favored son and prince.
yeah yadaha he is super talented, he is great and he is good-looking and of course, I worship him like a crazy fangirl as well. totally looking up past li hong yi dramas next weekend-..

BUT If i were Prince Chi or any other prince?
I would hate Xiao Se guts too. and kill him, and kill the king.
jesus hell, what a toxic environment, of course, its game of thrones, and being royals is about such life, but if i had 10 siblings, and the king father IS JUST TREATING ONE SINGLE SON like he is the HEIR already?

otherwise, this show is GOLD! its one of the first ones, where i enjoyed all the fighting scenes, even though normally i like dramas where its all talking all the time.
