this too short as is so idk why we getting flashbacks that add nothing to the plot, we got that Yang Meng had a crush on Yushi & Yushi never noticed him. this was covered in the previous ep. why use filler to waste precious time???
but cute ep, Yushi is such a tease & that kiss was hot - unexpected too, so soon into the BL, let alone after the cold shoulder Yang Meng been giving Yushi. so guess the kiss is down to the alcohol - but was that Yang Meng's imagination & the reason he stopped the kiss, cause he was worried his fantasy would come true?!? well what we didn't get with the mains, the 2nd couple delivered - but have to say the island boy (can't remember his name for the life of me) is so weird - hard for me to read him. he hinted that he & the blonde haired dude had a past, but nothing was mentioned after that, we didn't even get the blonde haired dude trying to recall from where... well it looks like the blonde haired dude not looking for anything but a good time, that & Yushi - but Yushi not interested.
again given the length of the eps & the BL, wish this just focused on the mains - now we got some drama with the father & we have to deal with the witch that defamed Yushi... 7 more eps to go & that can either be more then enough to cover everything & give us a satisfying BL & ending or.... π€·ββοΈ
i might be asking for a spoiler (as haven't started this yet), but would someone PLZ spoil me - does the FL - Sarah Kim die at the start of the drama & the rest of the ep's r basically everyone solving her murder? would appreciate a heads-up thank ππ
i saw the 2024 adaptation recently so thought to revisit the OG version, that i watched ages ago. ironic how i misremembered some character's & parts of the plot, while others i totally blocked out.
for the life of me i didn't recall the whole Taengmo / Mo, Moan, Golf side story - that was such a messy, toxic hell.. so i should've remembered it. but other then the mains & their "gf's", i didn't really remember anyone. well who could forget Jeed or poor Khom (who deserved better), but she was the mains bad-guy in this BL IMO & that's ironic considering some of the mean girls in her group.
also i was too harsh with my criticism of both Punn & Aim, idk why in my head i remembered wrong that Punn was a douche that basically wanted to eat his cake & kept it whole. he didn't lie or gaslight Noh into anything, if anything Noh knew what he was doing & in-spite of it being a bad idea, jumped headlong over the "cliff" & offered his hand to Punn who willingly followed. so neither was guiltier then the other. on Aim's part, she wasn't some femme fatal, yeah she had a very needy side that needed constant affirmation that she was loved & cherished by Punn. she was selfish, but a lot of teens tend to be. that didn't make her the b*tch in my memories.
the whole Earn angel came to not - there wasn't enough of him interacting with Noh for it to mount to anything (not in the 1st season anyway & i really can't see myself watching all 33eps of the 2nd seasons to see if that developed similarly to the 2024 adaption). same with Earn & Pete, there was almost nothing to notice between them.
this was a cute teen BL & given how short the last ep was, they already planned the 2nd season, which given it's length & the fact the 1st time around i dropped... (& as i already said i aint gonna revisit). so will say that as much as i liked this, i enjoyed the changes done to the plot & character's in the 2024 version more.
this ep was adorable & i loved the date - by the end Kishi "saw" Toru & not as the student he tutor's, but as something more... was starting to wondering in the previous ep, if the tags were wrong - cause in spite of Toru crushing on Kishi, this doesn't give me BL vibes - everything felt very innocent & platonic. but was & am having fun so i didn't mind it. just wish the subs were better, so i would be sure that the conclusions i come too r accurate & not a figment of my imagination.
btw that briefcase Kishi carries around, is it like the one Newt from Fantastic Beasts carried around?!? where the frack he keeps pulling out the tea set, let alone the water & the other accessories lolπ€£π so weird π€·ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
Listen, Toh you are a hopeless case i give up ,go be treated like a bottom of shoe, WTF do you see in Jimmy?π‘π‘π‘π‘And…
"...go marry that cat..." made me laugh way harder then it should've... doubt that poor cat wants Jimmy, am sure it got more sense then Toh.
but given this ep, am starting to wonder if Teh is subconsciously in-love with Jimmy, cause if anyone did quarter of the sh*t Jimmy did to Toh, to a sibling of mine i would be out for blood. 1 - i wouldn't still be friends with them & Teh has never given Jimmy the cold shoulder, let alone ignored him. & his love of holding onto his collar from time to time, amount to a big fat nothing, as he never hits him. 2 - i wouldn't be stalking or saving them & Teh is constantly observing Jimmy. more focused on him & in this ep he took if personally, when that guy asked if Jimmy was single. 3 - & i for sure wouldn't be breaking my back carting his drunk ass around town to then dump on my sofa. Teh's behavior makes no sense.. but a while back i did say that both sibling r similar in that they love red flags π€·ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
im on ep 3 and it baffles me that ppl say they love fah. bruh he sucks too. idk what he does to make him an 'amazing…
everyone in this BL is a different level of f*cked-up, Fah comes off as a red flag too. but compared to Jimmy - guess he turns green in some peoples eyes lol π π
this was rage bait, until i decided that there wasn't a character here that was worth the energy it took my blood to get to boiling point & since i came to this conclusion, i aint just calm (no matter what i see) but am finding this ridiculously funny. in this ep Jimmy turned into a freakin joker - i laughed so much cause of him.
but the one that is baffling to me; Teh - he in-love with Jimmy?!? he got a bigger hard-on for the dude, then his brother. until now i never got his mediocre out rage - oh yeah, he loveeeeessss manhandling Jimmy, but he never really causes any damage & for someone that was his bff, one he warned off his brother. that same good-friend goes behind his back, not just to woo his brother - NO(!) he uses him like a bargaining chip - like a hostage he will use & abuse if Teh doesn't keep his distance from Fah. what we get in this ep??? Teh saving Jimmy & brining him back home, even trying to soften Toh - by saying he was wasted - i.e suffering - what!??? idk which sibling acts this way - even siblings that r at each others throats on the daily, the sec an outsider hurts one of them (in any way), they turn into loyal attack dogs that r ready to rip that persons jugular out, with their teeth if need be. here Teh is more worried about Jimmy??? make it make sense?? why, cause Jimmy's a good guy cause he drank a bit & is acting weepy?!? this means he did his penance & is worthy of getting back with Toh?!?? WTF π€·ββοΈ don't get his thought process...
side note: i pity the dentist, cause sorry not sorry Toh is a headcase & he the type of person that sees a red flag & runs towards it. while a green flag might just be used as a minor distraction, until the next red flag come along. so for his own mental healthy, i hope Toh tells him "i aint ready" & leaves him alone.
Even I found it quite frustrating when he clearly knew Fuji's sexual orientation and sexual preference yet he…
glad i aint the only one that struggled to get to the end, cause i kinda had enough of not only watching Bing play the victim (when he had stopped being one, a while back) but watching both Max & Fuji take all the blame.
sadly they both came back for him in the last ep, so if there is a 2nd ep, idk if i want to watch another 60 plus mins of everyone running after Bing's ass, while he throws himself a pity party π€·ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
so the fact Jeong Yeon knew, means this ok?!? this was f*cked up & i might be the only one thinking this - but that fact is, that Yu Geon wanted Jeong Yeon from the 1st time he saw him, this fact makes this "romance" majorly f*cked. the fact Jeong Yeon was suffering, feeling misunderstood by his mother & abandoned by his father, the only way he could survive was rebelling & then Yu Geon walked into his life, a grown adult that was warm, caring, supportive yet stern & authoritative. Jeong Yeon was lacking a father figure & that's what Yu Geon became, so not shocking that Jeong Yeon developed feelings & was ready to ignore the research papers, that showed that he was used as a 'lab rat'.
Yu Geon on his part, from the word go wanted Jeong Yeon & his every word & action was grooming 101. the only reason he didn't accept Jeong Yeon's confession, was cause he was a teen - or maybe he needed for him to fall utterly & the distance & time part, would make the heart grow founder... as it did. idk how i feel about this so called romance, as this very messed-up. & even though Jeong Yeon knew all along, how Yu Geon manipulated him it doesn't make it ok (them ending up together) cause when ur brain-washed, knowing the facts doesn't revers the programing or undo it.
ima be the odd one out - yes this was hilarious & even sexy at times, BUT if u take out those parts & looked at the meat & bone of the thing, this was bad (& not talking about the acting, which wasn't always good). but the plot or rather the MC = Bing was a selfish, self-centered a**hole - sorry not sorry.
didn't like what he did with Fuji, WTF was that? he not have enough d*ck, he targeted someone that was an innocent bystander (family at that - even if they not blood related & Fuji was the son of a close family friend, that he called Uncle, that's family & f*cked up) just for the fun of the conquest?!? cause like it or not - what he did to Fuji was basically grooming. the fact that it backfired spectacularly (where Fuji used him as a pocket pussy, was ironically hilarious & just deserts) but gaslighting Fuji, confusing his feelings of kinship, making him second guess the love that was platonic, making him wonder was it more...?!? was that anything by an ego massage?!?
& people got the audacity - saying they should just be a throuple, cause Bing needs both to satisfy his needs... f*ck that! Bing is a selfish prick that wants to eat his cake & keep it whole. but more importantly, given his mentality there is nothing that will actually satisfy Bing, not Max, not Fuji... not them together - cause the problem is internal, so maybe therapy.
& just to be clear Max isn't the one in the wrong, he isn't the selfish one. when u love someone u want them to only be with u & not bed hop. u want them to be only ur's, to be considerate of u like u r of them - this a logical type of possessiveness. making this normal reaction towards the person u love - abnormal, is what's f*cked in this BL! trying to redefine the norm's of a relationship, is a b.s strategy to brainwash the viewer's & sadly there will be a gullible few that will buy this sh*t. u wanna be in an open relationship - say so, but don't try & sell that sh*t like it's normal, good or healthy - as if having rules & boundaries is now the abnormal thing - like plz with the gaslighting.
so if u r just watching this for the fun of it, great - it's fun. but i can't ignore how f*cked up the plot or the main character really is. personally i think both Fuji & Max should cut their loses & leave Bing to "fend for himself". dude needs professional help, not d*ck β
Why the hell did they change You Qi name to Yushi and the flash back the writer used Yushi instead of You Qi.…
i heard there was an issue with the author, that they were gonna sue or something, maybe it has something to do with that... cause from the 1st ep's flashback - it's basically a reimagination of what happened in Addicted. like Yushi (there You Qi) is suddenly a new student introducing himself & Yang Meng finds his name funny, like his character did in Addicted. also think they changed Yang Meng's personality here, to match the age of the actor.
that's also why this BL is called Love after Addiction, it's not just for the fans to know that these two actors were in that old BL. well that's my two cents ππ
just watched the 1st ep & have to say/ask/point out that what bothered me more then anything else going on in the ep was the scene where he has a nightmare - WTF was that?? was that just that, a nightmare or was that past trauma?? like how dark is this BL gonna go??π²
rewatched this after idk how many yrs & it was cute, but having watched Revenged Love this totally falls short & not cause the acting or actors r bad. the plot felt disjointed - jumping all over the place & if u didn't read the book 1st, u will be confused throughout this. also the way 'they' chose to end it - it's like it was cute short wayyyy before the end. wonder how much got left on the editing room floor cause of censorship -
I thought they'd break up cz jim slept with Run but thank god he didn't (that's one thing that kinda saved him).I…
agreed with a majority of what u wrote - besides the crying with Toh part... if i blame him for the mess he has made with his life, how can i sit here & feel sorry him?? yeah i think he needs help so he will stop seeking out users... but that's a far cry from actually crying to him - maybe i am just less empathetic towards masochists fools, that r hell bent on digging their own graves, when everyone keeps warning him... π€·ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
to me this BL has become rage bait & yet i wasn't that angry this ep - 1st of the shocker that Jimmy can be a good person when he wants too. him running off to help an ex, isn't anything to scoff at. plus he gave him time to heal at his place & he wasn't creepy about it (given they were more friends with benefits then actual boyfriends), it's normal & very easy to "trip" into bed with someone u had good sexual chemistry with - even if u hate their guts lol π€¦ββοΈ 2ndly Toh doesn't evoke my sympathetic side, every time he cried i rolled my eyes. cause the dude needs help not sympathy(!), from how Jimmy has treated him from the start to assume he ever loved him, like what?!?? but this the same dude that convinced himself, that no matter why Jimmy too him to bed, he was gonna make Jimmy love him π€·ββοΈ & the part that made me shudder, was when he told himself "...don't be petty & make him angry..." that's how abused women talk about their abusive husbands. this dude needs help, so he will stop seeking out abusive people to partner up with.
btw i love Run - from the start of this i loved his sassy ass & i loved how he gave as good as he got when he was with Jimmy. the fact he tried to get back together with the moron, was cause he's in a vulnerable state & Jimmy offered a safe haven. & call me mean but i kinda enjoy his mean girl act towards Toh. but we all know that if they did get back together, sooner or later they would break-up, cause Jimmy is a personality only a mother can love - well his mother & Toh the masochist π π
also i don't buy Jimmy suddenly actually caring for Toh, why him? he's been bed hopping for ages & the sec he gets his prey he moves on to the next conquest. but this time it's different - why? cause Toh was such a doormat? π€
Is there a series with exactly the same plot? Whilst watching it, I kept getting a deja vue
i remembered that when u edit a comment, the person that started the thread doesn't get a new notification. so adding the edited add on in a new comment if u have already checked out my previous comment, anyway it's called - Spoiled by My Mafia Boss ππ
