another foreshadowing. i think crown prince may get engaged to mudeok later as jang UK says he should marry in…
in Jin Family, it’s the man that adjust to woman. If crown prince is to marry a Jin, he has to change his last name to Jin and live at their residence, that is if he marries the eldest daughter which is Buyeon since she will carry their family therefore crown prince can only marry the younger daughter Cho yeon for she does not have responsibility to their family.

Naksu/Mudeok can have reverse harem and people shipping her left and right but to me no one defeats Jang Uk not because he is main lead, but because they have a better foundation of relationship.

Naksu and Jang Uk started as like enemy, then a master/servant, then we started to climb a ladder with Jang Uk protecting her from Gwiyu then her putting both of their lives on the line to achieve their goal.

Now we have Jang Uk promosing Naksu to basically give back her old life. Make her be her old self. This is not just about taking her on top of the tree, it’s about making her feel herself again. This is why she refuses Yul, the moment Uk had utter the words “would you like me to take you there” she understood, Uk meant to give it all so she can comeback as Naksu. She didn’t want someone to take her on top of the tree, she needed someone, to help her so she can take herself on top of the tree.

This is the beauty of their relationship, they have such foundation and not just mere moment here and there.

They did a great job building their foundation. I just hope to see a careful progress to their relationship. Slow but steady. Intense but not instant, and if they done this perfectly, the moment they get together, it would left such impact, and hoping they won’t loose their momentum.

A lot of Kdrama or even Chinese/Japanese/Thai dramas that fail to capture the same intensity of these characters when the main couple get together, they turn stale and it’s underwhelming.

I hope JU & MD would have a proper love story that even if they end it in sad note, the journey would overshadow the end state. So far, I’m satisfied.

What is Naksu's ultimate goal? I know she is trying to get her power back, but what are the ends she is trying…
I believe she wanted to avenge her family, though she is misguided so I’m thinking she will ultimately join forces with along side Daeho Four Seasons to defeat the villian

Need clarification - In episode 5, teacher Lee says that when soul shifters run wild they feed off energy from…
Master Lee was about to eliminate Naksu just for being soul shifter before she run wild but he saw greatness in her, she has no malice, at this point it also helps that Mudeok is right within her, Mudeok being the original soul of the body helps the fact that she is not running wild nor her mark is not on top of her heart. My theory is, the moment Mudeok’s soul is taken out, Naksu would run wild, the thing here is that Mudeok would someday be able to control her body again just like she did when Naksu is sleeping/unconscious.

There no win win situation for Naksu at this point, remove Mudeok, she will run wild or she master Hwansu by that time.

Mudeok and Naksu cannot live in one body forever, Mudeok would eventually take over her body as it’s originally hers. My theory for Mudeok not being dominant because she does not have the will to live, the moment she find her family she might break out.

I just want to say that I love the male lead so much and Lee Jae Wook is doing such a brilliant job, it’s very rare for me to love the male lead, and I’m mostly into the female lead or secondary characters (one other male lead I love was Choi Ung of OBS). Jang Uk is such a layered character, he is never boring nor flat.

I hope we see more of Mudeok/Naksu not just some mellow badass character, I need more feelings from her.

Main lead couple dynamic is so good. I don’t think I would really ship Naksu with another. They have such color and flavor together.

With Mudeok’s soul seemingly joining Naksu on one body, I just hope this isn’t another Mr.Queen or Oh My Ghostess where the male lead clearly fell in love with the soul inside not the owner of the body, but they made it seem like in the end he fell for the owner of the body not the soul that took over it. Someone had said that Jang Uk is for Mudeok and Yul is for Naksu. It would ruin the story for me if they went to such route.

Since I had a glimpse and know how Park Jin fight, I am curious on what Master Heo exactly do in serious battles…
here I am just questioning how old he is because he looks way older than Hemp Master Lee, he was a student of Master Lee and he had so much “power” on him to be able to give to Uk so I’m guessing he is a powerful man

Can you guys please drop your theories here. Aaaa can't wait for another episode :(
My Theory, Jang Gang is royal blood and is trully the rightful King therefore King’s Star meant his child, not the former King. Also if royal bloods are meant to be most powerful in this story, Jang Gang is royal for being the most powerful even to the King.

Jin Mu has had a long running scheme to achieve power and deceived the other families into believing Naksu's parents…
just want to remind you that Teen Naksu is already an assasin in training, she was taken by the evil guy to be trained as assasin when she was a child therefore whatever name she said to Yul either her real name or a name this evil guy could have created for her apart from Naksu

"So just be my maid. Bother me again and I'll sell you."This guy definitely knows how to make the girl angry!!!…
it felt realistic actually, when we are not in the mood, we all can get irritated, I feel that his character has so much more human realistic approach which makes the character having more depth than just a flat character.

I’m sure most of us has experience snapping to our parents esp mom for nagging then felt guilty afterwards.

What I absolutely love about this is that it is perfectly paced drama, well-balanced drama, comedy, politics etc, and the characters are not 2d characters, they were given so much depth.

It is so hard to find period drama that is not all about politics and sufferings, and full of villians.

I absolutely love that characters were introduced well without getting too much into narration, the characters were all given their own goals which makes them realistic and not some NPC-like in the games.

I love how the initial villians aren’t exactly villians, we know for sure one true villian, but the villians we thought were in the beginning are turning out to be not such a bad people. I was ready to hate Park Jin hardcore but he is making me conflicted about his character. We saw him as villian from Naksu’s pov, but he isn’t all that.

I also wasn’t expecting liking all four seasons of Daeho or whatever they were called i cant remember at this point but they have such a distinct personalities from one another and aren’t just flat.

So far very pleased with the story, I had been on drama slump for couple of months and finally found something worth watching and waiting.

I completely agree on some of your points. Gorya's lack of character development. The lack of romance. The "different…
@Hadija98
I did not meant to interfere with the conversation, but this is where my problems with the show is.

Gorya has seen the consequences of being a cruel dictator, and has seen what Thyme has suffered from (getting beaten up to death).

Thyme created monsters in his desire to lead, which resulted to him almost loosing Gorya and almost dying when it back fire, Gorya saw all these. She heard Talay story herself.

Gorya heard Thyme’s ideal Paramana before breaking up with him.

You don’t have to be smart to know that bringing old Thyme would just put him in trouble again, and it did.

This made Gorya a real stupid character and I hated that. She’s just someone who doesn’t learn from the past and a damsell in distressed to be always saved by Ren, when her character was supposed to be “strong”

I love this show, it’s the lighthearted romcom I’ve missed because everyone just want to be unique, dramatic, and preachy about life lessons. I’m an escapist, I enjoyed well thought dramas that has so much to offer, but there’s always balance, I miss this kind of romcom and I need them to sweetend my life, and this drama serve me the dessert on my meal.

As much as I love this show, I dare say I was more captured by the second lead couple. This is not to say I hate the main lead, I enjoy them as well, but after they got together, I didn’t felt invested to their story as much I wanted to.

Second lead couple, despite having very limited amount of scenes, they have more substance, feelings, better dynamic which satisfy me better.

It’s also a huge plus that Kim Mingue & Seol In Ah has such a great chemistry on & off cam.

Sunghoon & Younseo we see them how attraction/interest leads to love and learning about each other. Some might say they don’t even know each other yet and they started relationship, to start relationship it always starts with interest, they are interested and attracted to one another, sexual tension build up, acted on it, decided to be in relationship, then slowly starts getting to know each other.

oh we see them have fight, a really good one I might say. Youngseo comes from a family who never gave her love, she wanted to find and marry someone she loves, someone that prioritize her, Sunhoon having deep loyalty with Kang family, probably didn’t even thought about prioritizing himself (therefore YS as well). I’m glad their fight isn’t a shallow thing that is created out of nowhere.

we also see them made up, and talk it out which shows maturity on how they handle the reconcilation (which we aren’t able to see on main leads, made me wonder how are they gonna handle a fight and what could it be), then we also see them missing each other, all these feelings, they have shown a lot of the sides of their relationship.

and the most important aspect for me, we see them being playful and laugh at each other’s company or presence (piggyback scene, at the gym when video of SH reveal, youngseo kisses on couch) all of these says so much about their dynamic, they have fun and happiness.

for main leads, I never felt that, Taemu would sometimes smile at Hari, they would smile at each other but they are never playful nor laugh at each other that it felt like their scenes aren’t bringing something lively to me. Heck Taemu was more playful with Sunghoon than Hari. Actors Sejeong and Hyoseop have a better dynamic behind the scenes than their characters, they are more fun to watch.

this was also a reason why in kdrama WWW i like the second lead couple as well better than main couple, same sentiments. Also as to why I like female lead’s dynamic with second lead guy in True Beauty.

And as much as I love YoungCha couple, I’m also in love with the dynamic between Hari and Youngseo, their dynamic as best friends was so natural, they are such a delight to watch. I could watch a drama that focus on their story & friendship.

Kim Se Jeong & Seol In Ah were great, expression, tone, gestures, everything was so well-done. I like Mingue’s acting as well, he did great, not as par as the girls, but still great. As for Ahn HyoSeop, maybe I was expecting more? it feel flat quite some parts, and I’ve seen a lot of cold characters before from Do Min Jun(MLFAS), Kim Boong Do (Queen Inhyun’s Man), Lee Young joon (WWWSK) Ryan Gold (HPL), Ri JeongHyuk (CLOY) but the actors always manage to bring more personality to these characters. I’ve seen AHS act in Father is Strange, Dr. Romantic 2, Abyss and he did great on these roles, maybe he just doesn’t suit this role as I thought he would.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the drama overall, the ending did not satisfy me and has many loose ends, I could list points of story I wish they could have wrapped up more, but I just want to say, the past few weeks of me waiting for the episodes and watching the show the day it comes out, brings joy, then a week worth of withdrawal from missing the show, I say it was a good watch. This is my final goodbye to the show, thank you that was a sweet treat.

I’m quite hesitant in posting this as some people here sees a negative comment and it equates to being an anti, but before you fire back at me, I’m one of those who loved this show so much that I do long reviews each episodes (you can check older comments).

Anyways, if you can take critism then proceed to reading, otherwise, I suggest to stop because as much as I love this show in first half of it, I’m not very pleased with the whole picture.

I can appreciate the symbolism that has been thread to the show but I’m always someone who values the core of the story more than anything else, RELATIONSHIP & CHARACTERS.

This is a remake of a popular ROMANCE genre story, therefore I do expect a well-build and show cast of this very core of the story apart from the characters. If this wasn’t a remake, then I wouldn’t be complaining here, the fact that it is therefore I have every right to complain about it.

The story’s core was the love of Thyme & Gorya, imagine my happiness and thrill when I see how F4 thailand build up the relationship of these two, they communicated, they try to learn about each other, they were playful and teasing each other….then suddenly the build-up was gone, and somehow those little moments didn’t seem to build something at all.

One of the biggest trial introduced in the series was the whole Gorya isn’t able to step into Thyme’s world, it’s a conflict that seem so big but it was used as a device to put Thyme-Lita together and this “big issue” between them was just forgotten and was trash out and was never addressed again between them.

The constant repetition of events but characters never seem to learn from the past, Gorya not trusting Thyme (multiple times I dare say) landing her as victim of Talay. Gorya agreeing with Thyme’s mother to bring back old Thyme as if she didn’t experience first hand the consequences of the red card and it’s revengeful victims. A perfect example of puzzle pieces that looks like they belong in same picture but actually don’t fit together. Very questionable decisions are not just annoying but purely eye rolling moments.

Circling back to romance, I have to say this Director doesn’t know anything about romance please do not direct another romance genre again, I have seen behind the scenes, and scenes that could potentionally makes the scenes more romantic were taken out, also if your idea of romance is FL beating the shit out of ML, then you have the very wrong concept of it. Even at the last episode Thyme has to go down his knees only for him to be tying his shoes, yeah no I ain’t trusting this director ever again for any romance genre. the RomCom was just Com, he rather do it all for comedy, I did not felt the Romance even when the chemistry between the leads are absolutely insane.

We don’t even have to mention their kissing scenes, and don’t even give me the “their characters are young, they are student, or it’s their first time” the last scene with the silhouette is pretty but underwhelming.

Character development, I could rave about how much I love the development of Thyme, so well done! but Gorya? what happen, even at the end her dialogue was ‘everyone move on but she’s the same’ yeah like way to tell us you did not develop her character at all, Gorya’s character was so flat, she’s just someone strong and have wisdom, but what is she besides those? her hobbies? her dreams? out of all version, this version was the only one without dreams or achievement, what is her achivements? changing Thyme? goshh

This director/writer doesn’t just not know how to write romance, but not know who to write female characters as well (even Mira’s character who played house with Ren but actually dating somebody was already mesed up) Tia’s character didn’t serve much purpose. Kanning is barely a charcater at all.

I started this show where I count down days and even wake up early on weekends (even though these are my days off work) just to join youtube premier show, that’s how much I love this until it just starts dissapointing me each episodes.

It was difficult to watch the second half episodes of this show, each saturday I was hoping it would pick up again but it never did, maybe it would have been better if I binge watch this.

I have watch all other versions ongoing, Meteor Garden 2001 when it was airing in my country (we do not have streaming sites back then) Boys Over Flowers is my first kdrama I watch to wait atleast 24hrs for subs, Meteor Garden 2018 I watch every friday on netflix during the time it was airing, Hana Yori Dango was the only one I binge watch while I basically I wait for BOF, anyhow, in terms of pacing, and episode restriction, I thought this version wouldn’t felt like it dragged but pacing did deteriorate.

if you are here for the Romance part, HYD & MG 2018 handle that muchhhh better. I gotta say Chinese dramas are superior in giving a satisfying amount of romance.

This is my final goodbye with this show, I enjoyed it for the first part, I will probably rewatch those and just look back how excited I am for this version.

In the 1st promo of F4 at 0:54 second I wanted to know in which episode is this scene presentPlease let me know…
I believe this was a scene they are intially going for when Gorya stands up to Thyme, but it looks like they have change it to a much meaningful one with the Gorya using the exact shoe Thyme ruined to kick him right infront of Kocher Stadium. And it seems like that first promo was like just for promo purposes and what the story they are working on, scenes from it are different from the actual scene, like Gorya screaming in the window not rooftop, etc.

can someone clarify to me about the age? I see some people on twitter are kinda iffy of YJ saying i love you to HD when she is a minor, wasn’t she 19 yrs old though, is this about culture that she needs to be at legal age of 21 before dating? (but she did date that one guy and Yijin date Da eun during high school) or is it because Yijin is at legal age but not HD? I’m quite confused since most of the dramas I watch I didn’t see anything about age problem.

oh gosh that’s suck, they need to start doing it like netflix, if it’s their show entirely just exclusive for them they drop it one time, if not and it air in tv then they do the day they air. Disney+ is opposite, if it’s a show entirely produced by them they have one ep per week thing, but if not they wait and drop it one time? ugh

the way I scream “finally”
if it wasn’t for trending a hashtag they would even think of promoting them. Tu has photoshoot with Dew & Nani. Win & Prim has photoshoot together. The lack of promotion for main couple was just frustrating, 90% of the pictures & moments were provided by Bright&Tu themselves.
