well she's winning awards not you so I think that says a lot about who knows more about acting lol
"I’m not the one jumping on everyone’s comment here..."
Newsflash: I'm the OP. Replying to replies to one's original comment is not considered unusual behavior, even on MDL. You should agree, seeing as you appeared here a month after comment/replies above, lathered up for battle.

I just re-read the comments above, including my own, in which I'm not the least bit "touchy" about my acting. Furthermore, I never used the term "acting career," as my acting has always been a side-gig for fun and passion, not a means to make a living. I implied nothing to the contrary. You made up "acting career," then snidely referred to something I never said as if I had. That happens a lot on MDL when the fankids get their panties in a twist.

The acting resume I present at auditions is far too long to share here, though I'm tempted to do so anyway. However, sharing it would buy into your silly line of BS that audience members are unqualified to have an opinion on the performances of actors, unless they have personally been a professional actor with at least as many credits as the actor they're criticizing. And as alluded to prior, that is BS. Silly BS.

A 20-year-old high school dropout with zero stage experience, and a 50-year-old housewife, and a 70-year-old famous actor with a magnificent resume, all get to say, "Dude, IU sucks as an actress."

At the same time, you get to say, "IU is the acting queen of the universe of all time and space and matter."

See how it works, IU fan-person?

Ok tell me a thing actually am confused that when the egg second time broke sungmin stayed there for another 20…
Oh Lord, sorry, but I'd have to watch it a second time to be able to try to answer that question. Right now, I don't even know what you're talking about. lol I mostly remember that the plot was very odd in a good way.

Sorry I can't help. Maybe someone else here can.

Title My Stubborn
Wow.
This is the first Thai BL in about two and a half years that I haven't dropped during the first episode, except Gelboys, which had me in a constant state of appreciative annoyance. I disliked all the characters and the 24/7 hyper-shallow, internet/social media/mass consumption universe in which they lived, but admired much about the way their horror story was told, from visuals to dialogue to acting. It looked and felt like a feature film.

Back to My Stubborn:
Love that within the first sixty seconds, it made clear what it was and where we were headed if we stuck around to watch. :)
Love the unapologetic portrayals of sexual desire on display.
Like the vibe between Sorn/Jun. Looking at them separately, I wouldn't have guessed they'd have this strong chemistry going on. You can't fake chemistry.
Like the hilariously over-the-top sexual harassment in the workplace. lol. Hey, it happens in real life. Plus, you know, this is a FICTIONAL, comedic story.
I'm guessing a lot of the MDL Puritan brigade is stressing out over this.
Like that the Puritans are stressing out.
Like the humorous bits so far. I haven't seen this raunchy, wink-and-nod approach to sex in a BL in a long time. During one of the restroom scenes, I flashed back to "Make It Right" and all the entertaining raunch in its first episode, from sore-butt-from-butt sex jokes, to explosive diarrhea from the previous night's love injections.
Like this show, Make It Right had a fun, light-hearted, unapologetic perspective on fumbling, imperfect sexual interactions between human beings.

All that said, I'm seeing many of the quirks and embarrassingly lame elements that put me off Thai BLs in general:
The production as a whole, but especially in the office scenes, has a high-school-kids-pretending-to-be-grownups-in-the-school-play vibe to it.
Face powder applied with a fire extinguisher.
Enough lip gloss and lipstick to graffiti all of downtown Bangkok.
Dialogue delivered at a glacial pace and timber-stiff physicality from a lot of the supporting players, both of which are the director's fault.
Boring, drawn-out side-character scenes that should have been cut or never written in the first place. Thank God for the FF function.
No matter what I see him in, that Yoon dude annoys me. I think it's the tiny mouth and dull acting.

There's more, but that's enough bitching from me for now.

This has aired in its entirety, but I'm in no rush to binge it, as I would with shows I'm ecstatic over. But I'll enjoy returning to My Stubborn when I'm in the mood for more. :)

Very very realistic sex scenes. The sex positions and angles are very accurate and anatomatically correct. There…
ooh, OK, well your comment cinched the deal...I'm in for the watch. I've been reading comments to help me decide, as I'm very much not a fan of Thai BLs in general.

Thanks!

Love your last paragraph, especially. :) As George Michael sang, "Sex is natural, sex is fun..."

Thanks for replying.

And if you do think of some good shows that are 18+, please let me know. I'm with you: filthy and raunchy are good things. :D I am always on the lookout for quality BL and other gay content. I've made my way through the existing canon since discovering BL four years ago, and so few of the new ones are worth my time. Most come out of Thailand, of course, but I've written off that country as a resource. One terrible show after another. Quantity WAY over quality.

On edit: I forgot to mention that I agree the sex scene in Stay With Me...is terrible/awful/wooden/unconvincing. I blame the director. Someone has issues with gay love and sexuality.

Reading this was hilarious 🤣 I love some aspects of this show, but the kissing/ NC scenes have me feeling uncomfortable…
Great description..."uncanny valley" indeed.

Wow, this comment is a study in Internet obsession/mental illness. Your level of psycho grandiosity within this assumed personae as the Big Mean Mama of MDL is wild

Well, sister, I am the Big Mean Daddy of MDL, and as I said earlier, I comment when and where I want, and say whatever the hell I please. I will continue to do that, despite your hilarious threats. And when I see the screen name "Shamu," I will definitely stop and run my mouth.

You're not even close to being worth one of my 30 "blocked" spots. lol

Like used dishwater thrown over my head. I was definitely not expecting that. Why even bother giving an NC scene…
I know.
But...when that naked part begins, Mashiro is above Kanade, as if hovering mid-air but neither is the least bit tousled-looking, sweaty, or even mildly disheveled, as one is after even the most boring sex. And they're just kind of looking at each other blankly. That's why I decided they had just gotten naked and were about to do the deed. It really is the oddest thing.

Such things in film and drama fascinate me. I always think, "did the director really watch this on film and think, 'yeah, that's awesome, it's a wrap?'" Well, yes, in this case it appears he did.

And the kisses...lol As I wrote above, I laughed out loud. And not even in a mean way. These two had so utterly charmed me to this point that even dorky kissing can't stand in the way. But the planking sex scene is a bridge too far. The whole episode, beyond the first confrontation with the mom outside, fell flat.

I took that to be BEFORE they did the deed. The fact that we're not sure, emphasizes the problem here. I blame the director.

After episode 8: lol These guys kill me.

I don't know if the director should be shot or given an award for the way he staged the kisses and the you-know-what scene. On one hand, the bizarre non-kiss kisses are annoying and stupid, but on the other hand, they made me laugh out loud; whether more at Mashiro and Kanade as characters or the continued terror the makers of this BL have of gay lovemaking, I do not know. :)

That they are laying on top of each other, presumably naked (am I supposed to disguise the word "n***d" for the tender flowers here?), yet appear to be stiff as wood planks (bodies, not schlongs), and with dispassionate expressions on their faces, is absurd but also funny. All I know is I laughed in both places. Mashiro looked as if he were floating like a sheet of plywood above Kanade, with two inches of space between them. lol

I was amazed when Kanade put his arms around Mashiro. Coming from these two, that is an expression of hardcore passion. :D It's interesting that this show is so restrained in its portrayal of sex. I recall some good JP BLs with wild sex scenes.

The actress playing Mashiro's mom is good. She portrays a wide range of emotions, most of them disturbing, with very little movement of her face. It's all there in her eyes.

Overall, given all that went down, this episode was a tad boring somehow.
