Yesss that title is so on point - “SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT in both of their head!” 😂 It's giving chaotic energy…
You're free to like and watch as you wish, of course, but this attitude is why Korean BL is dying: lack of standards. Why write anything interesting or original, when the same old, same old keeps a certain class of viewers coming back for more each time around?
both this and business as usual is killing me with all these miscommunication and misunderstandings. i hate hate…
Most dramas and comedies throughout history are based on miscommunication and misunderstandings. I realized a while back it's not the tropes I hate, it's the bad, lazy writing in which they are wrapped that I hate.
The two primary elements of this plot are: Unrequited love. Fear.
Those elements feed: 1. Lack of communication. 2. Miscommunication. 3. Refusal to communicate. 4. Lack of understanding. 5. Misunderstanding. 6. Refusal to understand.
Numbers 1, 2, 4, & 5 have been used as part of successful dramatic/comedic writing for thousands of years. If you think about it, most of our human problems are caused by some combination of those factors.
But when you attempt to build sympathetic characters, especially a lead character around who everything else circulates, out of numbers 3/refusal to communicate and 6/refusal to understand, you end up with a shit show like this one.
I have zero sympathy for a character who I see deliberately choosing to NOT communicate when all he has to do is move his lips and utter the words, in scene after scene after scene. I have zero sympathy for the same character when I see him choosing to NOT understand because that's the way the script is written, which is poorly, and for no other reason apparent in the plot.
Good writers come up with plausible reasons why a character CAN'T communicate or CAN'T understand. This show was not written by good writers.
I have lost all sympathy for the MC because I see him repeatedly standing there with that blank look on his face, refusing to do or say...anything. He doesn't speak, he lies, he obfuscates, he walks away, he tells the guy he won't talk to him but doesn't truly back that up, etc. He is the epitome of a spineless wimp. Unfortunately, rather than being a distracting side character, he is the center of attention. This does not work.
Add to all of the above, blatantly stupid, cop-out scene cuts, and yeah, it's a shit show. One character wakes up with the other character's mouth half an inch from his, the smoocher backs off and looks back blankly, they stare at each other blankly, cut to...next scene and they're out on a walk as though that thing we just saw, to which episode 3 built as a cliffhanger to lead us into episode 4, never happened. Never mind the endless lips-toward-lips slo-mo bit...that's standard BL crap, but all together, it's a sad mess.
Too bad...like a lot of Korean BLs of late, this is turning out to be a throwaway no one will remember ten minutes after episode 6.
The amount of comments I’ve seen complaining about the 2 main characters lacking ‘communication’ is unbelievable.…
"Also if they actually communicated, this show will end in 1 episode of 30mins. "
It is not the lack of communication that is the problem. The plots of zillions, maybe most, dramas/comedies throughout history have been based on various forms of miscommunication of one kind or another, with varying degrees of success.
The problem with this show is that the lack of communication is poorly written in the EXTREME. The script/dialogue/scenes/execution/direction/acting are embarrassingly bad. Everything is done deliberately and for no other reason than that miscommunication/misunderstandings need to continue to happen. There is no feeling of happenstance, convincing coincidence, believable anything; just rote miscommunication tropes one after the other. It's embarrassing and not entertaining.
The actors deserved far better than they got from the screenwriters and the director. I have continued to watch because the actors are cute and there is NOTHING else on my BL watchlist right now. Even so, I almost stopped halfway through ep. 4 because it has become painfully slow, predictable, and tedious.
You are free to enjoy the show and keep watching. But if you truly don't get why commenters are mocking the miscommunication tropes, you're not paying attention.
It has nothing to do with Kpop. Being a good person is not easy at all, actually, it's one of the hardest thing…
"... and not everyone is Kim Soohyun."
THIS tells me all I need to know about your mindset, which is that of a naive fanchild. As I've said what needs saying to you above, and have ceased wasting my time arguing with Killer Knetz Klowns lacking in reading comprehension, off you go.
Try not to believe everything you read on Koreaboo and Dispatch.
Well done. It's a quiet film. Not much happens. But what does happen feels real and evokes a feeling and mood I spent far too much of my life experiencing over and over again.
It has nothing to do with Kpop. Being a good person is not easy at all, actually, it's one of the hardest thing…
"...needs to shove it down others' throats." lol What a naked Freudian slip on your part. Alas, no matter how fervently you wish it, I'll not be shoving anything of mine down your bilious throat, Knetz.
Aside from that, is someone forcing you to read my comments? No? You're doing it on your own? And you haven't blocked me either? That's revealing.
The chip on your shoulder and the burdensome grudge you carry towards me for being brighter than you gives me immense pleasure. I'm guessing you've recently been batted down here on MDL for slandering actors, also. That must be frustrating for you. I'm glad.
The combined weight of all that resentment and self-hatred will break you one day. Knowing that has brightened my evening.

You're not perceptive, are you?
At no point did this actor assert that she is any better a person than anyone else. At no point did I assert anything negative about her; only that the commenter I replied to has no way of knowing anything about her either, good or bad.
From your tone, I'm guessing you're a Knetz; all too eager to imagine things nobody said, fantasize someone is "good" when they said no such thing, and most of all, raring to jump all over her and harass her to suicide once she is revealed as being human.

You don't know anything about this woman. She could boil babies for dinner each night; it's just that Koreaboo and Dispatch don't have pap pics of her doing it yet.
Your believing she is "a good person," any more or less so than any other idol or actor, is naive. I know nothing about her, but I know a lot about Kpop, and the Knetz who have driven far too many idols to an early grave. That this one has survived into her 30s is the result of luck, not pure soul or flawless behavior.
Lots of Korean entertainers who were "good people" took their own lives after being relentlessly tortured and publicly humiliated until they reached their breaking point. This young lady should be careful: The fact that this headline was written over an article about her makes her a target for the paps/press/knetz who will make it their business to prove she is NOT a "good person."
Bad...really bad.

I will repeat myself once, then feed your suicide-enabling troll self no more:
"He was in MIDDLE SCHOOL at the time of the bullying..."
Get a life.

Because, well...that' the way it works.
Why hello, Knetz Killer Klown. Feeling desperate for blood tonight?
