How is she a mediocre talent nepo baby?? You must not know her talent has been since the early 90s...Do you even…
Kiss my a*s. You must not know what you're talking about. Either that, or you're some poorly-paid underling from her PR dept. trying to shut down anyone who dares to speak truth about her.

Doona has "always been a familiar face, blah blah blah" because she's a nepo baby who got into the business through connections, not talent. She's not beautiful whatsoever. Look at those droopy nostrils and tiny, sour, drooping lips. ugh. Beautiful? Please.

I have seen five or six of Doona's lame flicks and I'm sick of her. See that expression on her homely face in the above photo? That is the expression she wears most of the time in ALL her work. She's not the least bit versatile, seeming to drag the same characterization with her from film to film. Her lack of acting talent reminds me of IU, who also wears the same blank expression in all her work, but at least IU is pretty.

Be sure to include my reply in your summary to your boss at Doona's PR dept. so they'll know your lame retort was entirely ineffectual.

Please get a life. lol (What a lame, dorky finishing line.)

Episode 6:

This show is exceeding my hopes with every new episode.
It feels like a privilege to be watching three different BLs in which the magic moments of self-realization and emerging love between the MCs are so beautifully portrayed, with complete commitment by the actors, that they bring me to tears.

The other two shows are "See Your Love," out of Taiwan; and "Blue Canvas of Youthful Days" out of China, which I just finished. The latter had some major problems, the largest one being the distracting/useless side couple, but the relationship between the MC was well-acted and thus touching.

It's Miseinen that's captivating me though, because almost all supporting actors are doing a fine job, and the writing is exceptional. The slow but steady development of the MC relationship has been believable and real; and Haruki's personal struggles are deeply touching but not maudlin or melodramatic. I like Haruki a lot. He has lived under such extreme pressures and been unfairly treated over and over, yet his inner, better angels yearn to be free. Minase is turning the key.

How many "let's play in the sea" have we seen through the years in each and every BL (yes, Thailand, I'm mostly…
Wow...I thought exactly the same thing when it happened. It's such a cliche but the fine acting of the MLs made the sea-splash seem spontaneous and real. I think I started to roll my eyes and then stopped and melted. :)

It helped that the bit with first Haruki and then Minase splashing their own heads was a new-ish thing. It was as though Haruki was baptizing himself, washing himself clean of his past, poor self-image and deeds, inspired to do so by Minase's affection.

Also, I loved how, after Haruki pulled them both into the water, Minase kept looking at him with that excited, expectant face, waiting for him to say what was on his mind. He knew something important was happening, but he didn't demand to know, he just waited with an encouraging, happy look on his face, for Haruki to share it with him.

must we present our portfolio & 5 references?
Naturally, that depends on the quality of your performance in said vids, as well as the boundary-pushing nature of the acts portrayed. I have high standards and many years of experience consuming such material, so I know good work when I see it.

Let me know if you need an email address for submission.

Oh look, another posthumously-released film/drama/album/whatever from a performer killed by the Korean Fan/Netizen/Media/Public/Law Enforcement Suicide Machine. What a surprise.

In nine days we mark the seventh anniversary of the 2024 suicide of Kim Jonghyun, the greatest Kpop singer of all time. A new, posthumously released album followed in January. In 18 days we mark the first anniversary of the suicide of one of Korea's greatest actors, Lee Sun Kyun. Several films have been released posthumously. It's a Korean tradition.

Good job, Korea! Keep it up. Fighting!

Oh my gosh! I had no idea SJR passed away. I loved him in Moon Embracing the Sun, Surplus Princess, Thumping Spike…
He did not "pass away." He deliberately and intentionally killed himself to escape the insanely torturous life of being a Korean actor/celebrity. A mad stalker was hounding him and the Korean scum media was about to pounce. He made a quick exit.

Good job, Korea!

must we present our portfolio & 5 references?
The submission window is open-ended for the time being. The friends list stands at 99 until a deserving candidate pops up.

References from professors are disregarded. References from production companies, porn studios for which you may have performed, former sex partners, psychiatric facilities, etc. are more likely to advance your application.

The one and only, all-encompassing benefit is the selectee's rarified status as etoks21's 100th MDL Friend. The presence of this designation on one's profile page carries with it prestige and glory beyond imagining. There may be a certificate, though no statuette or trophy. I suppose I could draw one though.

Full-body nudes will move your nomination forward more quickly than mere headshots. And please, no shaved pubes. Light trimming is permitted.

A detailed self-description in one's profile should suffice.
However, if you wish to increase your chances of success, you can DM me with your portfolio and a head shot (I'm a sucker for hot guys). Three references is sufficient. If they come from one of my trusted MDL besties, all the better.

Best of luck with your submission.

It's amusing that you would skip the ending of a series you enjoy because you assume the ending will be tragic.…
Well, if your emotional/mental health is that fragile, and I do not mean that as an insult at all, good on you for taking care of yourself. I mean that sincerely.
Depending on the show and the ending, I sob hysterically, wiping up the snot with paper towels, get severe weight in the chest (what is known as "heartache"), and feel depressed for hours.
But I recover within hours, though an ending that brings on that kind of reaction will stay on my mind for days; not only because of the ending. That powerful response means that I intensely connected with the story and its characters, and it will take whatever time it takes for the constant thoughts to fade to a manageable level.

That said, the process doesn't interfere with my work or my real life, and I guess I'm a masochist, because I seek out, and in some way love, the movies/shows that touch me that deeply. There are a lot of us out here. :)

The films "A Frozen Flower," "Night Flight," and "Bleak Night:" and the BL "History3: MODC," left me a wreck but all of them are on my top 30 lists in their genre. Though I just looked at my best bl list and the first truly sad ending is H3:MODC, at #7.

What I object to are sad BL endings that come out of nowhere and in no way connect to the story that came before. Those are sadistic, viewer-abusive con jobs you don't generally see in straight shows and movies, and I do believe they're homophobic in nature. This is the reason I despise the popular and influential BL movie "Love of Siam." That ending is deceptive, manipulative, and sadistic to its core; coming out of nowhere to devastate the viewer. It's a last-second cheat deliberately crafted to make the audience look one way, then slap the across the face from the other. That flick went from a 9/10 to a 1/10 for me in its last 15 minutes.

I know depression/mental health issues very well and have wrestled with them most of my life. Through medication and talk therapy I've found a ground from which I function well and even embrace my extreme sensitivity. It is a quality extremely common to creative types like me...and perhaps you?

This is all by way of saying that if avoiding sad BL endings puts you in the state you describe for extended periods, you are wise to avoid them. I hope you are taking care of your mental health in general.

All best.

You were SUPPOSED to be disgusted; that's the intent of the story; that's why the type of revenge taken on this man is so powerful. His manipulator intended for HIM to be horrifically disgusted.

I could see being disgusted with the film if you thought it was making such a thing look like a positive, but that's not the case.

Oh well...

With the age and prevalence of the internet the rise of snowflakes is more and more. Its hilarious to see you…
It's no masterpiece, but I totally agree that the emerging generation is alarmingly prudish and easily "offended." They think they have the right to go through life without encountering anything that makes them uncomfortable.

They should add incest in the tag so some people who take fiction as reality can skip this
That would be a spoiler, plus people who take fiction as reality shouldn't be watching anything.
