BRAVO. Well-said as always, B. I haven't read the comments below yet, but now I'm looking forward to them. We both know MDL is populated by a wildly prudish SJWs, desperate to be offended by all things sexual; it's that sad, retrograde pre-1960s sexual hypocrisy coming back, apparently. Sad.
If my normal friends asked me to show them a couple of shows to help them get an idea of why I love BL so much, this would not be one of them. It is becoming increasingly juvenile and stupid. The I'm -rushing-home-to-take-care-of-my-cat-as-though-it-were-a-human-being-and-I'll-forget-my-phone-so-as-to-cause-miscommunication-and-angst plot line is beyond stupid. Not calling the little BF immediately is even stupider. How is this coffee shop going to survive, considering it's not located on a sidewalk, and is nowhere near a street with any foot traffic? How does the girl not know the teacher is gay? Hello? The acting has become more wooden with each episode; also it seems they're delivering their lines more stiffly and with ten-second pauses between lines of conversation, in the familiar Thai style of BL dialogue delivery. The teacher pedophile and nine-year-old student couple kiss like their lips are super-glued shut when they are standing up, but in the earlier bed scene, there was some actual, open-mouthed kissing...I guess the prone/naked thing got them loosened up and carried away.
The only semi-good acting has come from the coffee dude and his dead wife.
Oveall, my rating-to-come is lowering as the number of episodes goes up. Time for the creation of a new BL category to got with TOOT (Turd Out Of Thailand) and TOOK (Turd Out of Korea): TOOTW (Turd Out Of TaiWan).
Terrible movie. Started out possibly intriguing, then went to implausible, then to stupid, then to hilariously bad. If you are given the choice of watching this thing or killing yourself, take the latter option. The young mistress actress apparently attended the same academy of acting as did IU. Like IU, this one has one, dead expression 95% of the time.

Meh. Dropping at about 35 minutes. I was forcing myself to stick with it...not a good sign. Maybe more interested in the way it is telling the story than in the story itself: Repeated flashbacks, black and white to color and back again, etc. Bored. Your mileage may differ.

What an uplifting, enjoyable ride with a cast of wonderful young actors doing their best.
The film has its faults and could have been improved in quite a few ways. However, and I am pretty damn picky, this movie has what a lot of much more technically proficient and somewhat better-acted movies do not, and that is HEART. Despite its shortcomings, I cared about these kids and their coach and that makes all the difference.
Park Hee Soon is his awesome self, though it was cool to see him enjoy himself in a markedly un-glamorous role. He's great. Ko Chang Seok is his usual rock of Korea too.
I'm bummed that the film ended where it did without taking us through the entire tournament, but whatever...

Thing is, does it really matter WHY Fuji has emotionally and mentally tortured Sei? The fact is, that is what he has done regardless of his "reasons." If his mommy is dead and his daddy ran off with another woman when he was a child and he was raised by rabbits in the woods as a result, blah blah blah, it changes nothing for Sei. The damage is done.
And who is going to censor films and series that don't meet YOUR definition of their "...moral obligation to be responsible..." blah blah blah...You sound like a lot of far-right church ladies who think it's their business to determine for others what it is ok for them to see.
Guess what? The commenters here fantasizing about their teachers are just like the millions and millions of other humans around the world tonight having sexual fantasies that wouldn't meet your approval but which don't hurt anything but your fee-fees. Young humans have been enjoying sexual fantasies about their elders and other authority figures since time began.
Did you know that around 62% of women fantasize being raped in some form about four times per year? Or that about 50% of men do the same? No...somehow I don't think you knew that. LOL What are the fantasies YOU have that you're desperately afraid someone will find out about?
Fantasizing something does NOT necessarily mean we want that thing to happen in real life. I'd guess MOST young people who dream of getting busy with a teacher would wet their pants if that teacher actually gave them the opportunity.

The further I get away from episode 2, the worse this becomes in memory. I'm done wasting time on marginal or below BLs, even if they're NOT out of Thailand. I'm sorry to see Korea putting out more and more of these lame, fluff-coated stinkers. To my category of TOOTS (Turds Out Of Thailand) I guess I have to add TOOKs (Turds Out Of Korea). This is one of the latter.
