SJ will have to die so the drama can move to 3rd arc like in the novel. I'm looking forward to those scenes where LTY is the Demon Overlord and receives reports from the demon generals and they all think they're being low-key invisible. Meanwhile, the reincarnated SJ, who is a human Emperor, is wondering why there are demons in his garden talking to his Noble Consort 🤣

I'm sure that this will follow the novel and she won't die in the drama. At the end of the novel's first arc, LTY gets captured by the Sect Master, lose her memory as LTY, be brainwashed to be Sect Master's daughter and live in the Demon Realm where they also try their best to brainwash her to kill SJ. Useless because they were only able to erase her memories as LTY but not as Zhou Yan, her real identity in the modern world, so her salted fish attitude remains and she will say the same thing to SJ when they reunite, 'no grudge, no reason'.

I don't remember her in the novel so she must have been added in the drama as a plot device. Her other identity, Houng Lo, doesn't appear in the novel until the 2nd arc.

Yes but the sect leader won't get killed until the demon realm arc. The rest of Genchen Mansion, the minor branches, will scatter and be absorbed by other sects, like Tingyan's.

Ep 5 was a bit slow for me. Too much panning around Sima Jiao’s palace after the seal got broken

I’m curious about the 3rd lifetime in the drama. I hope it’ll be the ABO or school side story from the novel.

First 4 episodes are satisfying, esp. compared to the novel version. I like that the snake became human early and has his own ‘cp’ 😂 Great job CFY and WYL!

And we are on track with XZ, the tanned fisherman! 🤣 The filler ep was also hilarious and the scenes with YL so relatable lol I think this is the drama's way of building YL's empathy for our cp so that when the scene of XZ 's death comes and SL refuses to let go of his body, it is YL who persuades the Heavenly Emperor to allow ShenLi to bring his body to the Immortal Realm. I couldn't understand YL's motivation in the novel but the drama is setting it up very well.

She was captured after the battle (I think she had used most of her strength but not enough to kill her) then imprisoned by FS (that bastard is like a cat with 9 lives) and shackles were connected to her bones. After MF frees her, he leaves her by the beach where XZ finds her. Due to her injuries, she was woefully weak and lost her 5 senses but she is nursed to health by XZ the fisherman.

For those who think XZ is useless, we have come to the part of the novel where he will choose to care especially for just one person after realizing that SL has to be strong because everyone expects her to be strong and the protector of everyone. He will be the one to protect her from now on.

I hope the drama does not skip the racy bits of the novel which lead to SL and XZ becoming lovers 😁. This follows the current storyline of the drama after ShenLi is freed by MF and found by XZ by the beach. SL thought XZ is an ordinary fisherman having obscene thoughts about her 🤣 She lost her 5 senses following the battle and her incarceration by FS.

Also, I hope they include the end part where they are working on their 'bunch of grapes' (read: children) as requested by XZ to SL 😆

I've been waiting for this drama since 2018, when I first came across the novel. ZLY has believably embodied the Azure Sky King Shen Li. LGX is likewise the perfect XingYun/XingZhi. A great win for Princess Agents' fans, too!

I don't know how just 39 episodes can fully capture the novel's essence. So far, I like what I've seen and the episodes have so far been true to the story.

I'm Team ZJ because of the novel and what I've seen in the drama. I've visualized ZJ taking the step to see her by the river again 10 years later. QQ had no romantic sentiment for XB in the novel and only ever saw him as a brother whereas with ZJ, she had been fascinated with him since they were young and had only been jealous because of ZJ. But since the drama clearly has XB as the main lead then there will be changes to the story (and there have been a few) to accommodate QQ and XB as the romantic pair.

I think ZJ became an architect while XB opened a bookstore because this was one of QQ's dream. In the book, ZJ had 6 gf and QQ was no. 5. He never really got over QQ. Can't recall if XB had a relationship.

If I remember correctly, QQ and ZJ become a couple while still in HS. In the novel, QQ had feelings for ZJ since she was 8 years old (ZJ will find out about this 10 years later). XB had to quit school. QQ and ZJ break up before HS graduation because ZJ felt that QQ didn't really love him and that he will just drag her down instead of pursuing the opportunities ahead of her. QQ goes to Beijing and graduates from Tsinghua. She goes to the US for post-grad studies in Stanford and eventually settles in. San Francisco. Ten years after graduation, she goes back to her hometown because of her dad's health issues. After discovering something important about his relationsip with QQ through Guan He (that QQ actually loved him deeply), ZJ goes looking for QQ. At the same time, XB also goes looking for QQ after realizing his feelings for her. They both see her by the river. QQ was thinking about her relationship with these two and it seems she misses XB and has regrets about her failed relationship with ZJ (she felt that if she had been more mature they probably would not have broken up). That's where the story ends and it's up to the reader to decide which of the two had more courage and desire to actually stand in front of her. At this point, QQ could easily fall for either of the two.

I first came upon Accompanying The Phoenix in 2017 and it became something of an obsession to see this in drama form because of the great comedic writing by JLFX. It took a long time to see the English translation to completion and I'm glad the last translator, sonrisa t.n.t., kept their promise to complete it before the drama started.

I don't know how to feel about where the drama is going. I know the author is directly involved with the script (and she did a great job adding the BXS character) and some novels really need to be rewritten in order to make it as a drama, but the Heart Protection novel was such a wonderful tale (English translation by sporadic spores was top notch) that I am really torn about the drama's current direction. I'll just hope for the best.

Aside from full subs, BXS was sorely needed in ep 14. We need him back to spark the jealous dragon into action. Looking forward to ep 15.
