I have seen L&R and it’s one of the reasons I’m watching IS. I became a fan of Cheng Yi because of that drama and I’ve liked Yang Zi as an actor after seeing her in a few other dramas.
CY as Sifeng def went through a lot in L&R. It’s like he became a combination of YanDan and Jinmi.
I’d say the most angstsy xianxia I’ve seen is the Fengjiu/Dongha story in TMOPB and ELOD.

Okay, wasn’t happy with today’s episodes. Sick of the angst and Yingyuan’s long face lol Give me back my puppy Tangzhou, drama! 😂 Also not happy with the scriptwriter and the boring speech-like dialogues. We only have 11 episodes left and yet the editors wasted 2 episodes on unrelenting angst.
Here’s something else that’s bugging me. The Supreme Deity has special powers that not even Sovereign Lords can match yet Huan Qin was able to take over so easily. Does that mean the SD was incompetent or too trusting? Since he had already encountered Xuan Ye when his sister Ranqing brought him to heaven and all those events came to pass leading to Yingyuan’s birth, he should have been more suspicious of attempts from the demons/asuras to infiltrate heaven.

Yan Dan was being very logical. She knew that Ying Yuan had to be revived in order to deal with the evil conspiracy that now involved the heavenly realm. At the same time, her love for him will not allow her to let YY just disappear from their world. So, she is faced with fasttracking the death trial of TZ based on the information provided by her sister that a. Dizhi is in the area and b. it will sense its master (TZ/YY) and will appear to protect him in the event of danger (death).
Now it begs the question, since it looks like YY will be resurrected with Dizhi (and the other part of YD's heart), did the trio just waste time getting the other 3 artifacts when YY's one was actually enough?
That's the question of the day! Wasn't she trying to save him? I thought she forgave him about owing her his life?…
As mentioned earlier, watching the episode will help. YD and sister discussed how TZ/YY can be saved and with time running out on TZ/YY, YD knew it was the only way to save him. She’s going to give YY the other half of her heart to heal him again once he is revived so YD is basically just being true to her loving and sacrificing character.
We will miss you TZ. I can't wait to see YY as a combination of his old, restrained self with the assertive cheekiness of TZ. YD better get ready to be wooed the new YY way.
HQ miscalculated on Zhixi's ambition which is a good thing as he has brought proceedings forward with YY's return. I expect the next remaining episodes to be as quick-paced. Part 2 has not been draggy so far and I wish they could have done the same for part 1 so part 2 doesn't feel like it's rushing towards its ending. I still want a proper one with YY and YD wed, Goudan and sibs, Yumo teaching the YY-YD brood and perhaps YM wed to Zhaolan.
Today’s episodes are my favorite so far. Tangzhou can finally move forward knowing his sect will be able to continue. Because of Tangzhou, Yandan was given a different perspective of Yingyuan and has now forgiven him. We’re all set for a great reunion later. I feel bad for Yumo because he is a great guy and a good friend. Also, I never thought the inside of a jade gourd can be a date place, too lol. The things we learn through that cheeky Tangzhou. So glad to see so many TZ-YD moments. Looking forward to the full soaping scene 😂

Yumo is second ML. The ML is Yingyuan/Tang Zhou. The drama is in the mortal realm at its current airing episodes so TZ (Yingyuan's mortal identity) and Yumo have more scenes. Once the story returns to the heavenly realm, Yingyuan will be back in action and Yumo will become a supporting character again. Watch from the beginning so you can see the story develop.
Why is the rating down to 8.2! 😤 Poor TZ being forlorn and generally pining over YD in ep 40 but he sure makes a handsome bride in that trailer 🤣 I knew there was something off about that sect.

Not upcoming but I'm looking forward to the Legend of Shen Li next year. I've been waiting for years to finish the novel (Accompanying The Phoenix/The Prince Is Here by Jiulu Feixiang) but was pleasantly surprised to learn that the drama version is already being made.
The other one I'm looking forward to is Love When The Stars Fall which is also scheduled next year. Sadly, the novel translations, like the one above, are also not complete.
Yay, rating increased to 9.1! This drama deserves more. Never been this invested in a costume drama since TMOPB. Stopped watching other dramas to watch all the IS bts and spoilers. My yt history is pure IS content, esp on Xuan Yue 😅😂

Man, that ep was just full on angst. And poor TZ being set up by Xuanxiang 😂 I was so surprised seeing him in YY get-up. The pacing is much better so far and the previews for next week seem to indicate that. I hope they get to the last artifact soon so we can head back to the Heavenly Realm.
The last 2 eps of part 1 were pretty fast-paced and I hope they maintain it with part 2. One definite good thing is not having to see that lamp lady ever again.
