I actually enjoyed these two episodes as it established an important development: TZ realizing and accepting that he loves YD despite being in constant pain from the bracelet's punishment. However, mirroring YY's fate, he is also torn by duty to his sect as the future chief. It needs to happen so when he goes back to the heavenly realm as YY, he will get the realization that YD is important and worth changing heaven's rules for. I'm hoping that we might actually get that white wedding scene at the end (reminiscing L & R's ending).

I also like YM's development where seems to be more sympathetic and supportive of TZ. The Shaoxian Palace arc is important in YY's investigation of the demon clan's conspiracy in the past war although it's not something TZ remembers but it looks like he will get a breakthrough and remember it once back as YY.

Are we even watching the same drama? What got me watching this was seeing Love and Redemption first and I fell for Cheng Yi’s charms and acting. I prefer his chemistry here with Yang Zi compared to the Deng Lun /YZ pairing. I also prefer YZ’s characterization of YD rather than Jin Mi.
I don’t honestly get why anyone would write such a long post on mdl criticizing a drama you didn’t like. I’d just go ‘nah, not for me’ and find a new one to watch 🤷🏻‍♀️

That would definitely make it interesting, especially if they focus on making the ending a mystery and you wouldn't know if YD will end up with YM or TZ/YY (like Korea's Reply series).

In the novel, after TZ found all the 4 artifacts, the deities in heaven came down to congratulate him and take him back., and that's how YD found out who TZ really was. I thought that would have made a great scene but it doesn't really fit in with extending the angst in the drama. Plus, the leaks in yt seem to point at TZ dying by YD's hands?

I persevered through the machine-translated version of the book which the drama is based on and I'm so glad they didn't go with the original premise of the story where Yumo is the ML. If Ray Chang, the actor playing Yumo were the ML, I probably wouldn't have found the drama as interesting or eye-catching. I find his acting a bit two-dimensional.

I'm here for the YY/TZ/YD romance and angst (it is xianxia after all lol) but also would like to see the YY/TZ and YM bromance develop.

Also, this is like a Love and Redemption reunion. I hope it doesn't turn into a quasi-BL again (lol) when YY returns and faces Huan Qi (Devil Star in LR).

My husband, who was watching Ep 14 with me today, said that Baek Yijin's smile after congratulating Heedo for her marriage isn't the smile of a sad, pining ex-lover but a husband who'll be seeing her soon. I'm holding on to that 😄

In the beginning I also did not find ML good looking but the story drew me in. Next thing you know, ML had grown on me. I find him really handsome and attractive now 😅

My take on this is that prior to Orad’s acceptance, everything was part of the dream created by Lemed for Kakarayan. After the reveal and Orad’s decision, we can assume that Kakarayan has allowed the world created by Lemed to become real, and Kakarayan has now taken on the tasks that Orad used to do for him, with Lemed helping him out. We can assume that he is naming new Kawas for the world that has become real, which is why we are shown the naming of the god of rebirth. It seemed a very apt way to reverse the previous doomsday scenario in the drama.

Kakarayan’s wish was for Orad to believe in his reality, and to do what Kakarayan could not: be with the one he loves and grow old with her. So the 2nd part of the last episode deals with the present that has now drastically changed: we are back to superstitious Tienti but now Orad has been reintegrated in her life as her boyfriend, Li Yingchen, but who is also still Orad. We also see that in the revised present timeline, there is no white algae disease because Kakarayan has named the creature the god of rebirth, and all the other main characters have retained some of their previous personas: the professor and his wife, Toem/Alice as an actress in a bit of meta, the sisters with their mom and grandma, and Tienti’s grandma back as the tribe’s Sikawasay, and Fali/Lemed is happy tailing Kakarayan. We see a hopeful and positive future for everyone, including humanity (although not really for Orad since he’s still a Kawas and will outlive Tienti). Don’t forget to wait until the end credits for the actual end of the drama!
