I love this slow burn story. It's as realistic as it can be showing the progression from strangers to friends then lovers. The story line and acting are fantastic and had me hooked from the beginning. I started watching this after completing 'Shine On Me' but I think like this drama more. I hope the storyline and characterization remain on-point and consistent until the end.
I was too busy to catch the regular broadcast so I'm just starting to catch up with the episodes. I've been waiting for a new modern drama with He Yu in the lead and 'Speed and Love' didn't disappoint. He's one of the best young actors around and his range is amazing. I first noticed him in 'My Fated Boy'. He's matured so well. Also, say what you will about Esther Yu but her chemistry with He Yu here is off the charts! I find it funny that her previous leading man, Mike D'Angelo, seems to be in a LT with them.
I was so ready to rant about todayβs episodes but then THEY GIVE US THE RINGS EXCHANGE SCENE π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°πππππππ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯ΉππππππππππSo…
In the novel, LTY did not completely recover her memories. In the human realm after SJ reincarnated, she did manage to remember a lot of things. She actually fell for him again despite the amnesia because she saw that he really knew her likes and dislikes and really cared for her so the drama might follow this direction.
I know I'll get hate for this comment but I have to ask. Have you ever get the ick from an actor because they…
Understandable if you're an OG EXO-L and KW was your bias but I've always thought the resemblance was very slight. KW always seemed to look surly and his eyes , aside from being a different shape, never gave the clarity and earnestness you can find in CFY's. I've read that some netizens, who do not like CFY because of his privileged background and looks, have used the slight resemblance to attack him.
I have been revived with the double episode! CFY has really matured with his acting and this is really a great drama pairing with WYL. The chemistry was off the charts!
Why oh why did they have to ruin such a great thing with this unnecessary detour. We've got 11 eps left and this Demon arc that's supposed to have lots of laughs has taken a dark turn and an unwelcome love triangle. I think we'll end up with just two eps for the human arc and 1 ep for the modern day arc *sigh* Saving grace was the acting, esp CFY's tortured expressions but the direction drama is taking is making SJ look like an simple cultivator instead of the all-powerful, deity-like Grandmaster. Not looking forward to the next episode with that tampered memory plot.
CFY talking about how he internalizes the role of Sima Jiao and mentions the scene that left a deep impression on him. This is when SJ transfers the spirit fire to LTY. Based on the novel, after this scene SJ 'dies' and gets revived as a human prince and is Emperor SJ when they meet again.
Can't wait for their reunion where human Emperor SJ is trying to make Demon Overlord LTY understand that he's a merciless tyrannical killer and she should be afraid of him and LTY's reaction is 'Wow?' π€£π€£π€£
Other than the Demon Lord and frost fish plots, we're basically on track with the novel. She's turned into a badass and I think this will make it easier for SJ to pass on the spirit fire to her later. And since SK and LTY discussed both reincarnation and resurrection in referring to reviving Ruling/Hong Luo via soul revival, the drama has paved the way for doing the same to SJ later. The preview for next ep made me excited. I wonder when LTY will discover her old Qiankun pouch where she kept all her love gifts for SJ π Boo to Youku for its usual stinginess for new drama eps right when the story has become so interesting.
I knew they'd reunite by Ep 21! LTY has now learned skills that will be helpful for SJ and when she takes over the Demon Realm. I sort of see where the drama plot device of her being the frozen fish is going.
is this enemies to lovers?? or love/Gate relationship??
Nope. More like an employee-employer relationship first lol The employee manages to get her boss to adore her and vice-versa. Boss is Ultimate Boss. No third parties.
Looks like Ep 19 ends the Immortal Arc as per the novel and weβre going into the Demon Realm arc where LTY will become Shi Yan for 10 years. Iβd hazard a guess that Nanjiu will find her and bring her again to SJ (like the first time around) by Ep 21. I wonder how weβll get Huong Luo (her Demon Realm bff) if sheβs also Ruling. Huong Luo was quite helpful in the novel esp during SJβs resurrection in the human world and LTY had to be away from the Demon Realm. I hope the ending will follow the novel and not be your typical xianxia drama (frowns at the memory of TMOPB, Immortal Samsara, LBFAD, and The Last Immortal).
We're nearly at the end of the 1st arc. I'm looking forward to the 2nd arc where SJ identity becomes Dao partner to LTY, and the 3rd arc where the reincarnated Emperor SJ is smitten after seeing Demon Overlord LTY once and makes her his Noble Consort (which she willingly agrees to) and the fun and games with the assassins and the demon generals π
I will power through the angst to get to this! π
I joined a CFY GC in X and one member said we might get an OE because this is a transmigration-xianxia drama after all π¬π
Too bad we won't see that part when the ministers mistook snake boy for their son. That cracked me up π€£π€£π€£
