I started watching this on New Year's Eve and should be done this weekend. I wanted the season to go beyond 60.
It's definitely one of the best wuxia dramas I've seen with its jaw-dropping cinematography, an OST that fits so well with the story and scenes (the words grand and sweeping comes to mind), and acting that is among the best.
Chen Feiyu fit the bill as the shameless but determined Ning Que and Ireine Song was the perfect Sang Sang. This can be considered an ensemble acting tour-de-force but the youngsters carried their weight.
As recommended, I will wait for sometime before I watch Season 2. Earnestly praying for a Season 3.
Really bad withdrawal symptoms for this drama. I've rewatched and re-read the novels but can't let go yet. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Let's group hug fellow sufferers! *hug*

At the very beginning, LX saw ZY as a princess, pampered and cosseted by family and friends in the birthday party scene that he had to crash. He was fascinated by the scene thst was completely the opposite of his situation that he did not disturb them until the candles on her princess cake had been blown. He also realized that despite being a pampered princess, ZY had a kind heart after she offered him an umbrella. So when he saw her again in college, and we can see he clearly remembers who she was, he was initially sarcastic and rude to her. He thinks of her as a fake because of who she is and he thinks she is being nice when she doesn't have to because of her status. This impression is cemented in two instances: when she accidentally ate his lunch and when he thought GJH had to do her bidding with the hotel room. His impression of her slowly changes when he saw that she is really smart, persistent and dedicated. He also saw that she was loyal and just. I would say she definitely piqued his interest when she stayed all night at the rooftop after being locked out. She definitely cemented her special status when she said she could already understand his codes. After she had to eat her pride and call on her parents' help to deal with ZXB to get the app back, LX was a goner. He already liked her then. I would say the love developed when they were already together. Yes, I'm still not over this drama 😅😄

My colleagues who are Mandarin speakers have been asking why I'm suddenly listening to Mandopop. When they realize what I was listening to, they said 'ah understood' lol
I'm both happy and sad finishing this drama. What a great adaptation of the novel and a wonderful ending. The only thing I'm really sad about is Li Siqi not making an appearance. I thought the special ep would have him and the reconciliation with the mum. Props to Mr. Dong for acting as LX's elder and to Papa Zhu for being the understanding parent.
So what am I going to do now? All the other dramas have not been able to engage my interest
The growth Li Xun had since Zhu Yun was hospitalized is tremendous. I really thought he would object or say something…
I believe ZY is just biding her time with her parents. She does not want to antagonize them at this important juncture in Feiyang's future while her energy is channeled towards work and in supporting LX. The drama also needs to thread carefully when it comes to scenes of children being unfilial. As for TXZ, he knows where he stands with ZY and probably just said all of that to remind ZY that she has an alternative although he already knows ZY's choice.
At this point, I am looking forward to seeing in the drama that scene in the novel where the Feiyang guys noticed ZY is getting fat in the middle 🤠Maybe it'll be part of the special episode 🤞I also want to see them joining ZY's cousin's wedding where, instead of waiting in the car, LX will be invited by ZY's parents to join the celebrations with the rest of his family. That'll be a great ending right there.
