The first episode reassures me that Nott & Pun are endgame, though I'll feel sad if Arm doesn't find anyone. A bit eccentric, but it's a sitcom, so that's expected.
If this has a happy ending, it could get big simply because BL fans have nothing else to watch. Most filmings are delayed due to covid, and by the time this comes out all current Thai BL would've finished. Afaik this is the only upcoming series with a release date.
I'm weirdly excited about the next episode even though I have nothing specific to say about this one. It feels like a built-up. Not just the fight. TharaFrong sharing a gaze, King and shirtless Ram (and the flytrap, I guess), Duen all tied up in the middle of the night. Next week will be good.
Can we have more MaxNat (Dew-Blue) please??? The duo's adorable. SMH What a waste. And they even have their own…
In the series they basically have no plot. They hated each other before and now they're all lovey-dovey, no explanation given. I agree they deserve better.
Before watching, I didn't check out the Novel and was surprised at how much people were screaming 'rape' at the…
For me, it's not the sex scene. Rather, it's Vee's guiltiness (and them being vague about why he feels guilty*) that makes me think they did worse than just drunk sex. I agree that the sex scene itself is kinda ambiguous.
*When Mark says "Why do you have to feel guilty? You didn't do anything wrong." and Vee answers "I did.", complete with a short pause for emphasis, but Vee's next sentence (or in fact the whole conversation) doesn't elaborate on what Vee did. Instead, it shifts the topic to Vee feeling bad after Bar breaks Mark's heart, which just sounds like an excuse for Vee to talk to Mark given that Vee is shown positively jealous/possessive in the rest of the episode. This makes me think that Vee did something bad that they both know but rather not admit.
I checked out the first episode and at least was satisfied to see that the actively problematic parts were glossed…
Yeah, this is my dilemma with this series. Sweeping the rape under the rug; on one hand it's a good way to handle a problematic source material (besides not picking it up in the first place), on the other hand it doesn't make the problem disappears — it's just under the rug. I still don't what to think of it.
The first episode is... kinda erratic. It does follow the plot of the novel (Vee rapes Mark, then feels guilty and takes care of him — classic 'rape to lover' plot), but it's trying to be discreet about it, for better or worse. People that are unaware of the novel plot might've find this episode confusing.
I guess MekBoss is just a traditional secret love story, which we've had plenty. Meanwhile we still don't know…
For now there's no obvious top/bottom dynamics in their (very short) interaction. Presumably, Frong is the top since he's a bad boy and Thara is ridiculously good. But honestly, it'll better if they don't fall into a stereotypical top/bottom dynamic. Maybe give Thara a dark, sexy secret.
2gether and this are definitely the best Thai BL of the year. I'd like this one a tad more if they decreased the…
I guess MekBoss is just a traditional secret love story, which we've had plenty. Meanwhile we still don't know where FrongThara is heading, and that makes it exciting (for now at least). So yeah, I'd love to see more FrongThara.
I just assumed he's salty over losing to Bohn but idk
I guess if he isn't bitchy here, Thara wouldn't notice him and their story wouldn't happen. From the trailer, Thara will win over with kindness, so we'll see him swallows his pride later on.
Thara is unusual though. He doesn't seem annoyed at all; if anything, he's amused by Frong's temper. So we get a jerk + a guy that'll let the jerk get away with anything. This could be a very interesting couple, but they're the 4th couple so I don't expect much story/screentime for them.
Sometimes I forget that King is just interested in Ram because he's weird. Unless...?The main couple is my favorite…
lol PlantDog. Yeah at this point there's no indication that King likes Ram yet (at least he doesn't act like it). He approached Ram because he looks foreign, and he keeps following him because Ram refuses to talk to him.
I think people are gravitating toward RamKing because, unlike many couple we're seeing nowadays, there isn't a clear "one guy in love with/chasing the other guy". They're just two people that are naive in their own ways, slowly getting closer until one day the romantic tension bubble pop and they fuck.
Plus they're also quite equal. Or to put it in the usual BL language, I don't see a clear top/bottom dynamic. Ofc if we judge based on the stereotypical appearance, Ram is presumably the top. But personality wise, they both have comparable standing, and that's good.
Frong and Dr. Thara finally meet in ep 6. An underwhelming meeting, honestly; Frong is unnecessarily bitchy. Though now I do wonder how their story will move forward.
But oh well, let's see how he redeems himself next week.
But once again a solid episode. RamKing and TharaFrong make me squeal all the way.
Vee is adorable though. And they actually have chemistry. The story still feels jumpy, but definitely not as bad as ep 1.

Overall a good episode with solid development for every couple. Too bad they don't do next ep preview.
