It's really a complicated issue. As some wrote, freedom of expression should be respected, but my point is that there are extreme cases that might need a different treatment. Let's say with my own money, I'll make a movie. And I say that this is purely fiction. But then there are lots of hints that it's Germany in 1930s and 1940s. And also there is some religious minority (they are very like Jews) that harass and start a war against others, so some people (who are very like Nazis) have to defend themselves and the rest of story. Do our society let me make and broadcast this, all by my own money and all 'as a fiction'? I strongly doubt it!
her works? I think her acting is always very good. Among the works, I'd love IS - Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Sei more because of its story (about intersex people) and also her character there, but even when I'm not a big fan of the story (Life (2007) a psychologicalish school drama) and she acts as an evil character, she is really great!
I am looking forward to see where the show goes from here. The whole angle around her gift has been unclear to…
People have different tastes, so daijobou:) I watched A Life (2017) from her, and I really disliked it, because for one thing, I think it downplays betrayal, cheating and things like that. So when Mokomi was laughing at his grandpa's cheating stuff, that reminded me A Life. But obviously, you can have a different opinion:) https://kisskh.at/21546-a-life

To clarify, I don't like the works of this screenwriter! But as for your question, I think the show wants to tell us that she really sees and feels things differently: seeing even the inanimate world as living things with feelings. And it's the reason why she was so quick in finding that broken pieces: instead of trying to check every angle of it, she quickly felt that there was something wrong with this piece, that it is unhappy or something, like seeing a facial expression and overall bodily expressions and movements of a friend and noticing that there is something wrong. This is my understanding of her! I really love this premise, but have problems with other things in the story:)
For me I think it will be a happy ending. Why? Because he turned himself in and that will probably give him a…
It's not simple. He killed the husband when he couldn't do anything. But maybe if something like this happens, the guy wouldn't get the worst punishment (capital punishment or lifetime prison). But I'm sure at least he has to be in prison for some long time. Aside from this, he is not a healthy person himself, so not sure he can make anyone including Chihiro happy. But with what he did, he gave her a new life. Now she can begin to enjoy life with her baby. This is the best! I was worried that finally it'll be the husband who kills Chihiro or causes her some irreversible body damage. Thank God, this didn't happen. Shiawase, really!
When I first read the synopsis a few months ago I was interested but unsure if they were going to handle this…
Thanks for the comment. I'd like the premise too, but not sure if Mokomi's issue is something real. Basically she see inanimate things as living things with emotions. So for example a mirror who is dirty or not in the right poistion cries. I mean she literally sees the mirror crying. I guess this is just fiction, but not 100% sure. What do you think?
Oh, one important thing: I usually don't pay attention to and talk about actors who play evil roles, but I have to confess that Fukuda Saki is great as the devil. I also saw her an an angel character in IS - Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Se and there she is as great as here. Her play and expressions are so different that it's difficult for me to find anything similar in her in these two dramas. Alas that her real character seems to be more like 'Anzai Manami' than 'Hoshina Haru' (not that she is an evil, but surely not an angel either).
This is more of a psychological drama with -super exaggerated psycho characters, a school that is more like a mafia headquarter: students that are like worst criminals and can plan to rape and kill their enemies and teachers and managers that are fine with all these. Some people are into this kind of stuff but I'm not. However, I'd find some favorable things in the positive side of the drama: where it's about friendship and family of the nice guys. There you can find some realistic stuff
Based on what I saw from the screen-writer before, I don't expect a good story: Betrayal in all its different forms should be fine, people who 'love' each other, easily leave each other and so on and so forth. However, I keep watching it because I love Koshiba Fuka badly:) Also, the main premise of the story -someone with this different way of seeing the world- is really interesting to me. Let's see what happens!
You're right, seeing them in other dramas, I didn't expect this. I mean at some angles, they look similar, but…
I'm watching the first episode and I should say that opposite to my expectations, I'm finding more and more similarities between these two. It's not just the poster.
The FL looks exactly like that FL from Neechan No Koibito, I thought it was her in the poster!
You're right, seeing them in other dramas, I didn't expect this. I mean at some angles, they look similar, but they are really different, one of them is considered really pretty by many, the other a great actor:)
Totally agree with you about the second male lead and the unresolved romance. Actually, in my review, I wrote about it too, but I consider the romance as a side issue in the dorama. The main story is about friendship and more importantly, the problems and challenges a girl might have in a dominated environment. I think this female-perspective (from period problems to studying in a technical school and many other things) makes this dorama kind of unique, so maybe it's the reason why it has a lasting impression on you!
Thanks for the review! As it seems you pay attention to cinematography and the landscapes, can you recommend some otherJ-doramas and J-movies which show the beauty of Japan well?
It seems that I'm the first one to read and like your review, so maybe it's sign that the movie isn't that great?:) Joking aside, I am really thankful that you've introduced this amazing series. Back then (1 year ago), when I was new to J-dorama, your blog saved my life:)
