There is no chance dramacool or other similar website will take it down but I'm actually surprised they removed…
I'm so incredibly grateful for the thought, thank you! Though I'm not sure if reporting is a function, and I do agree with Snuggy that they won't do anything about it since their whole site revolves around stealing, unfortunately...

I know, I was honestly so shocked by it that I almost found it funny. Aside from the whole thievery thing overall, lol.

But I'm glad you're interested in our subs! More likely than not, the project will continue but I do want to figure out somewhat of a workaround if it's a possibility.

Hi, I'm just going to post this here as a PSA. I'm seeing that the subs I'm working on with another MDL user are already being ripped from our Captionfy playlist and being uploaded to Dramacool. Not only that, I add our credits to the beginning of every episode and they've been removed.

Please do not watch on Dramacool or any external drama-watching website. Some of these websites are well-known for stealing fansubbers' work and taking it as their own. I'm currently only uploading to Captionfy and I explicitly asked for people to not redistribute elsewhere.

For the time being, I'm deciding whether we should continue this project. I'll spend the next couple of days thinking of alternatives if possible, and I will contact Dramacool asking them to take it down but I doubt anything will come of it.

I'm extremely upset about this. I'm subbing this so that people who cannot speak Chinese have more access to this wonderful show, and for the most part everyone has been very kind and I'm incredibly thankful. But I'm also not content to have my and my fellow translator's work be stolen from us.

Fang Xin not being able to cook seems a bit inconsistent with her allergies at first, but her overall characterization…
Right? It's a bit of a stretch, but I think the writers are trying to make her growth arc more impactful by making her completely not self-sufficient from the get-go, haha.

Just finished Ep.2 of this, OMG! there are really scumbags out there. Quick question though, why can't the character…
Fang Xin not being able to cook seems a bit inconsistent with her allergies at first, but her overall characterization is that she's somewhat of a princess – even if she doesn't ask or outright refuses, someone is always there to help her. Unfortunately, she ended up getting used to it. When she was younger, it was her parents and friends; and then once she started dating (likely immediately in college), she naively believed that her husband would take care of her. So it does stand that she wouldn't bother to learn how to cook and hadn't dealt with the consequences of that.

In other words, we all should know how to cook, otherwise not knowing how might doom us later in life lol.

If the original YouTube video isn't available in your region, then you can't view it on Captionfy either :(

Hello, friends! It seems like WeTV isn't planning on providing English subs so I've taken it upon myself to sub this show. I will be adding the subbed videos here: https://www.captionfy.io/playlist/61b42e5c85aaa3748a8d7ced Just make sure the subs are selected in the right panel!

The website I'm using, Captionfy, is great because it's just embedding the official YouTube videos, so you aren't taking any view counts away from the official platform when you watch there. Sorry, have to do this little promo because I really love this website :)

I'm pretty busy so I can't promise consistent uploads, but this is a really awesome show and I'll definitely be subbing as much as I can. In the scenario that WeTV adds official subs while I'm still translating, I likely won't continue. But in the meantime, happy watching!

They did Q&As on Douban with viewers, which was pretty cool:
director Zhou Nan: https://www.douban.com/group/topic/251674235/
Bu Guanjin: https://www.douban.com/group/topic/249932758/

Yeah, I think they hid a lot of stuff overall due to censorship. It's pretty much accepted also that Ouyang and Jiang Huizhen were dubbed over because all of their lines had to be changed for that reason. Kind of sad that we may never know the true story :(

Title Dear Diary Spoiler
For those who have seen the bonus episode, what do you think of it? For me, I guess it depends on my mood:- If…
Offering food for thought: the way the director explained the ending (based on the bonus episode, when someone asked whether the pilot and mama's boy were reincarnated versions of Murong and Ouyang) is that once you love someone and they leave you, you will see traces of them everywhere. Eventually, you'll learn to transfer that love towards that person onto the world, people around you, and yourself. So a lot of what we see with the two men being somewhat similar to their Babylonian selves is more symbolic than anything else.

Still, I think it's heavily implied that they are the reincarnated versions; it just can't be outright said due to censorship restrictions. Weirdly, the most solid form of evidence seems to be in Murong's character poster, where he has the pilot uniform on, because he has the scar on his face in that poster; whereas in the show, the pilot doesn't have the scar. Could mean something, but who knows?

I'm personally mostly satisfied with the ending, but I am somewhat disappointed because Chen Meiru's actress said that the ending that we saw was edited to be different from what the original ending was written to be. In that case, I can only imagine that the original was better, lol.

No problem! Hope you enjoy it just as much (if not more) on your rewatch :) I'll DM you the link to the special episode with ENG subs!

Hello friends! Rumor has it that someone (definitely not me...catch my drift?) has English-subbed the special episode that follows up episode 24, and can share the link with whoever's interested and sends them a DM to request it. I wouldn't know for sure, since no one but Youku VIPs should be able to watch it. On paper, at least, that's the case. But rumor has it that a DM might give other people access. But I wouldn't know.

:)

You're such a darling!! Yes, cultural reference does help a lot especially since Asian (not only Chinese I think)…
Aww thank you!! Yeah, that's mainly why I started it. I always loved when fansub teams explained a lot of references for shows that I watched, but it seems that's falling out of trend nowadays :( So I'm going for it instead, haha.

Decided to start my own subbing project after seeing that the official subs are...not how I would translate it, to say the least. I'm trying to include explanations for cultural references and whatnot for those who aren't as familiar with Chinese pop culture :)

I've never subbed anything before so it's going slowly, but please let me know if you have any thoughts/advice! I'm using a platform that attaches the subs to YouTube videos, so any views on it will still go to the the original: https://www.captionfy.io/playlist/616b42ac12b0d1fcf3f05676

You can choose the Eng captions on the right sidebar. Just make sure the CC on the actual video are off, otherwise you'll see the official line of translations at the same time. Hopefully this helps some viewers!

Can anyone tell me who is Ru Yi ( Ryan)I think i missed something.Or maybe forgot him .
Not 100% sure if this is accurate, but I think that character listing is a mistake? Ru Yi and Louis should be the same character (just different romanizations of the name) played by Joo Jong Hyuk, he's Woong's coworker.

Just watched an interview with the writer and director and there was a segment where the director talked about how he was reviewing a clip during filming and found that the camera was shaking. He couldn't understand why, because it was a pretty standard scene and there shouldn't have been an issue with the equipment. He went to the set and confirmed that it wasn't an issue with the camera itself, but due to cameraman shaking from laughing too hard while filming the scene LOL

how is it doing in china?
Pretty average. In terms of popularity, it's been gradually earning more recognition since it started airing, but isn't quite as wildly popular as others of the genre. Score-wise though, it's been holding at a stable 7.6–7.7 on Douban (which is especially commendable for the rom-com genre).
