Well said, but I must said I disagree with the music, cuz where they put it most of the time were so absurd. The music score itself was okay, but they put it on the wrong scene etc. The ost were catchy tho, but then again, where they place it were just urgh.. it's frustated me. Honestly I would give this drama probably a 6/10? It had good moments, but far from perfect. I haven't watch final eps tho, so we'll see (but I doubt it will change my ratings tho).

Also I agree with your opion about Domyoji's Matsumoto Jun XD He acted Domyoji so well that Domyoji could be loveable ^^ because lets face it, all ML in any Boys Over Flowers version are shitty

Hi! Just want to jump into the discussion, thanks in advance.Well, I must admit it, I kinda agree with you. I…
Oh! I LOVE ep 1-2!! They are phenomenal! I agree with directional issue and BGM. Urgh the BGM are soo bad... And the way they placed it also absurd. I think I overlook the symbolism because there are alot of things that distract me more, like you said, the direction and the acting.

Also what part in ep5 that didn't satisfy you? I mean the specific part and why? I too had some problems with ep5 lol XD

More often than not, symbolism and metaphor are used in storytelling (anyone who watches Asian dramas will have…
I don't any have any particular negative reaction. The symbolism were fine, but I just don't get the importance of them to the story and it didn't increase my enjoyment. Like I said, I like series and movie that has characters that act like genuine real people and feel through these character (through their thought process and their emotion). We know these symbolism and it's part of the storytelling, but we didn't know or feel the thought process and emotion of the character.

Symbolism are great, but for me it's better that F4 Thailand has more solid plot and characterization with good directional decision and good music score than being detailed about the symbolism. Both of them can co-exist too btw
On F4 Thailand: Boys over Flowers Apr 5, 2022
I know I might get rationed for this, but I never get the hype of the "symbolism" other people rave about in F4 Thailand. For me it just bizzare. It feels like the characters aren't genuine people and are just used to tell certain idea. I mean it depends what your likings too tho, I like story that has characters who feels like real people rather than characters that were made to "symbolize" bigger ideas.

For example, the clothes the characters wearing to tell the story. I have seen people said about Thyme's animal prints clothes and how it tells about how the animalistic in him. And how Gorya wearing red shirt meaning black rose or Thyme. Which for me it's... Weird? Like these character just chose clothes based on the story? What kind of people does that 😂 Or how certain places or something in the background to symbolize and tells more about the story. Characters also didn't realize/know these symbolism right? So how these affect the characters? Like I just don't get it...

Don't get me wrong, clothes and places also can enhance the story. Like for example in Hana Yori Dango (2005), Makino wears mostly her uniform or cheaps clothes and reuse the piece throughout the drama to gives more her characterization as simple, poor girl. Whereas Domyoji wears fur, chains to show his extra-ness. Even at the end scene when Domyoji propose to Makino, Makino was wearing her uniform whereas Domyoji wearing gold tux to show their contrast. Or how Ebisu Garden Place was their special place and everytime they had some dillema or stuff they will go there.

Anyway this is is just my opinion and like I said it depends on what your likings too

That's why i think the Chinese version choosing a university setting made more sense. They made the ML financially…
For Gorya working part time I think it's because the source material are from Japan. In Japan it's quite common for high school students have a part time work (legal working age are 15) and I guess the pay are decent too, since some people do live off just from part time work. Also in Japan, it's not unusual for high school student to live alone away from family. Idk about Thailand tho

This series is not bad, i like it so far. It’s entertaining and the cast all great.however, i think this series…
I definitely feel more of puppy love vibes of Thyme-Gorya and not that passionate-emotional-true-love. And yeah their challenges doesn't make sense considering that their love isn't that deep like in Hana Yori Dango (2005).

Gorya is... Idk, the way this series potray the female characters are awful, probably except Kaning. What makes Hana Yori Dango so legendary is because of Makino and her "weed" power, yet Gorya isn't exactly that. Lita character also ruined, Tia become just an extra

If only F4 was made with 25 episode like kdrama or into 2 seasons like jdrama..This cramming up of all in one…
I don't think it's about cramming up, pacing, or due to shorter lenght. Cuz some parts are really draged while other parts are really rushed... It's more of a directional issue

The soulmate thing only happens in korean version. In other version Gorya soulmate always Thyme
Yea I agree. Ren has taken so much to the backseat since ep6. It would be nice to establish more of their relationship

I am confused. How are the japanese version and the 2018 version any less toxic? Domyjoji sent out his minions…
Well, he didn't "sent out his minnions to rape Makino". He sent them to scare Makino to make her quits, he didn't ask them to rape Makino. I don't say it was better or anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was the same with Thyme right? He also sent his minnions to scare Gorya and they also almost assault her. But the difference is Thyme really condone such act while Domyoji's reaction are more grey-ish

Huh? About that rape part, as I remember he didn't sent them out to rape Makino. He only ask them to scare her so she quits. I remember some subtitle did said that he agrees with rape, but actually per-my understanding Domyoji didn't actually agree with that act. It's more like he said something like "I didn't ask them to do so, they did it selfishly"

Either I beat them, or I'll sulking for days until the prankster and anyone involved apologized properly. I don't care about gender, I would like this scene to be gone completely. It was a cruel joke

My simple solution is, just remove whole hospital prank scene, much better.

Thank you. I was so mad to what F4 Thailand did to Lita character. I hate it that they painted Lita as villaneous…
She is not a villain, we can see it clearly thru her character. But the directional choices made her seem to be that way. The suspense eerie music whenever she comes up? Her being really nasty to Gorya? It was clear to me what the directional take what this to be. She was potrayed like Hana 2.0.

Even to robe scene, they used the same suspense eerie music for her and all about her want to "win". They did use some part of "One Last Cry" at the end, but it wasn't enough.

It just my opinion and the way I process the delivery of Lita's scenes. If you have different opinion and different take then ok

I haven't watch MG2018, but I just knew that they did more justice to their "Lita" than here. Even BOF did a whole lot better for Lita than this version

Yes. What she did out of desperation deserve no praise, but what I mean is that this eps potrayed her very villain-y when it's not all her fault. Whereas Thyme and Gorya aren't potrayed the same way
Replying to VSaraP9 Mar 14, 2022
why do they all make it seem like lita is the bad guy when never does anything wrong its nothing to do with narrative…
Thank you. I was so mad to what F4 Thailand did to Lita character. I hate it that they painted Lita as villaneous and even saying she is vicious?? I always love Lita counterpart in other versions. She did nothing wrong is correct. It was all Thyme's fault and he is an asshole. What's even worse were the directing of this eps, they made as if Lita is the bad person (with eerie bgm and her lashing out) and Thyme-Gorya as angels
