It was a while ago now, but some kid in my class threw a keyboard at the music teacher and got away with it. My school could've done with a yakuza teacher for sure. We used to bring in cans of lager and drink under the table. ...this is giving the wrong impression. I wasn't a bad kid, really. xD

Ahh, I've come across a lot of UK people here recently. =D
I like sad dramas but only if they're meaningful. I hate dramas that pile on the misery for no reason other than to make you cry.

That sounds like Bandage, pretty much. Though I've never seen Bandage either.
Lol, I won't bother then. I'm watching Ikemen Desu Ne and I'm sick of his face enough.
I love that this has turned into an "Education Systems of the World" article. I'm taking notes. xD

Bitter Blood sounds like it'll be good. And I still have 100kai Nakukoto to watch. And Ohkura will be in another movie at the end of the year, co-starring with Takei Emi again.
Ah, I see. Year 13 here then.
It's my first historical Japanese drama. I don't watch a lot of historical Western dramas even though I like history.

That's what I feel like watching I suppose. Nothing too heavy. I've been starting so many dramas and losing interest at like 3 or 4 episodes in.
Senior is the last year, right? They label us by year number here.
Yeah, Nezumi is pretty good. I like Kutsuna Shiori's character in it.

True. xD I made a lot of the dishes in Shinya Shokudo as a bedtime snack as soon as I finished watching.

I had a Geography teacher like that but we ended up making him cry. Pretty sure he wasn't from a yakuza family though.

Hello! Have you been busy?
I was recommended it and it sounds good, so... You enjoyed it?
Does anybody know of any dramas or movies set specifically in women's junior colleges? Or even just a junior college student character. Read a book about them recently.
Yeah, same jacket I can understand. But Kami-chan has been wearing that red and black stripy thing for months now. xD
(Cute Ryo in your avatar btw.)

Last episode of The Quiz Show 2 is my favourite episode of anything ever.
I like Gokusen 3 so far. But it doesn't really make me more of a fan of Nakama Yukie. There's just something about her I can never believe.

For Hikari, I think it's mostly about acceptance and being able to positively progress through life despite the obstacles. Japanese dramas are pretty good at that kind of theme. =)

My guess is it's due to time and scheduling issues, and because there are so many of them, that Jr. don't get acting lessons. Bearing in mind that most are still in school, and the priority isn't to produce good actors but good idols. For most Johnny's acting in dramas is more of a means to becoming a familiar face than an end in itself. But no doubt the older, more established Johnny's are made to improve themselves if necessary.
As far as philosophy goes, there's a feeling of independence and pulling your own weight. The Jr. seem to be left to their own devices to develop their own personae and talents through imitating senpai. They learn on the job, acting in senpai dramas and backdancing in senpai concerts/stageplays. And while there's always a need for backdancers, it's probably a waste to train so many kids in anything else when the majority won't make it to debut.
49 was lovely. I tried to resist making it a favourite, but nope! It has to be on there. =D And I just noticed 3 out of 5 of the dramas on my favourites list are Nojima dramas. Not really a coincidence I guess.
Gokusen 3 is the first in the series I've watched. I started with 3 for... bias reasons. xD (And not even Miura Haruma, as some people have guessed.) I've been going through a school drama phase and a lot of people rate Gokusen highly so I've no reason to ignore it any longer. I like it so far but it's not really anything special.

It's fine. =) I actually keep logging in meaning to reply to people but I end up getting distracted. xD
I'll tell you what I think when it's finished. Which isn't long... This season has flown over. xD
I'm not a fan of the comedy in Hana Kimi either. It's only recently that I realised I don't like the comedy in gender-bender dramas in general. I like the theme and I keep hoping to find one I can enjoy but the delivery is always so over the top. I've been recommended You're Beautiful so many times I decided to err on the familiar side and watch the Japanese version. It's still not my type, but for some reason my mother finds it hilarious. It's our watch-together drama for when Dr. DMAT ends. xD
Ah, my mistake, it was the 4-disc edition. I looked it up on Amazon and apparently it had 4 different running commentaries, deleted scenes and various making-of documentaries. I don't think I ever watched more than the movie itself. xD
Yes, Gabriel Byrne was in it. I borrowed the DVD and had to return it so I only saw about 2/3 of the first season. After that I got back into Japanese TV and forgot all about it. I should pick it up eventually too. xD
