I find it strange that Kamiki (and not Ryo) was nominated for Samurai Sensei, when his acting was much more distinctive…
Ehhh, I think he does an offensively bad job in Algernon. Especially considering the subject matter. I actually really like having idols in Nojima Shinji dramas, but they often have their own special aura that makes or breaks the role, and Yamapi was so misplaced. He doesn't have that kind of acting range.
For my personal taste Ishihara Satomi can get away with bad acting with her cute-factor, whereas Yamapi can't in those boring-ass wooden, tsundere roles he does. If he got more roles like that one in MONSTERS maybe I'd start to rate him more highly.

Kimura Fumino has been my discovery of the year. I loved her role in Zeni no Sensou, but the two leading roles I've seen from her this year just didn't... resonate. But I'm looking forward to watching Mother Game soon.
Buuut... About Dakara Koya: I really wanted to vote Takahashi Issei as supporting man of the year. :( He's flawless in everything he does.
Okay, one thing that always confuses me... By OST are we referring to the soundtrack or the opening/ending/insert songs? The music in J-dramas can be either or both. I think there's a confusion because K-dramas don't have that distinction.
Anyone know of some Japanese dramas that could be called "slap and kiss"?
The stronger the repression in mainstream society, the wilder and weirder expression of self becomes behind closed doors (and within subcultures). And yes, most worrying of all is Japan's tendency towards paedophilia.

Probably because Japanese drama isn't as romance-focused, so DV and rape can be dealt with as societal issues. As they should be. I'm sure I've never seen any "normalised" sexual violence in J-drama, but throwing the question out there in case other people have.

I didn't watch 5ji kara, but Yamapi's acting was a travesty in Algernon, so he should be blacklisted from any awards this year anyway. xD
But most of my top choices didn't make it onto the actress and supporting polls. :(
Edit: But lol, it doesn't even matter how I vote if I'm voting in any category including Ouroboros. xD
But whatever. Endo Kenichi is there! :D He gets my vote!
