iirc the webtoon also quite meandering and not so good at telling the story.
After finishing it, I think the story is good but the way it's been told make it less interesting and the story being vague in purpose.

I love the female lead too, she also not cold bossy type yet you know she has enough power if she want to step on you. She radiate confidence, also feel cold and at the same time, feel warm enough that you know she is a good person. It's like I understand her despite only knowing her for 1 episode.

To be fair, he loves his job. Job satisfaction does makes you enjoy life more.
Other being does not particularly into their profession.

Gu won also has a job so he has purpose and goal while other being usually amnesia about their job and goal. Knowing your responsibility also makes life more adaptable.

Some shot is a little cheesy, the camera has interesting pov and have 5 second staring to each other scene but I love both of the characters so much, I warm up even to the side character.
I get do do hee, she is tough but realistic, not really cold but also hard to get close, she respond to people but also don't let them overpower her, have different relationship with different people, I love her monologue in the washroom.
I also like guwon, he is not human but also act like a human, love the fact that he isn't human.
If I have power and eternal youth, I understand him.
It's pretty understandable 1st episode and they really lay a good background, we know all the family in both side, we also know both the lead.
The stand out for me is the end scene, the hair game when she is running is just great and how she act when she is in danger shows the urgency and her thought process. Love it

I find this drama actually get the essence of the webtoon, even when I don't think the acting is particularly good and there is some aspect that looks weird like when they meet in ep 4 and that place looks too simple for 2 conglomerate wedding discussion.
But then, seeing Se Hyeok and Yu ra being pathetic in 4 episode is great, seeing yura's mom try to own up do guk's mom and failed is also great. I can't believe they can't see why people dislike them.

in the webtoon, the marriage happen in the middle like around chapter 50 out of 100 chapter but I remember the webtoon also hasn't finished.
I am not sure what chapter they adapted but the marriage should happen in the middle to solve the mystery

I think the drama shows that she has been suffering from the consequences for her action, even before the dream, she has understood it, she lost everything and was in the street.
The dream is her way to gain back herself and accepted her regrets. It's her way to redeem herself in her own mind.

I didn't mean that she didn't suffer, it's that she didn't actually reach happiness, in the dream or in real life before because it's her regrets, her wishes that didn't come true.
The happy ending for her was the last bit in the drama when she accepted herself and the fact that she can't changes the past. The acceptance is what brings her happiness, there is somethings that is not for you even when you really want it. This comes true for both the dream and reality.

Still, I I lowkey want to see Yelan feel some guilt towards her and see the dreams comes true. I feel like yelan dream and real life yelan is kinda the same.

I do think the ending excuse the character's in the drama since the character we get for like 29 episode (minus the real life flashback) is not their real self.
Even Hua Qian that we love isn't the actual hua qian, it's the ideal version of hua qian and that she + the viewer wanted to have.
The character is also in the Hua Qian Perspective so even their supposed "own monologue" is not their thought. The dad never apologised nor get the redemption, it's her wish that the dad would do that. The guard is literally not a real person, hua qian also misjudged the lord and was never understand his action. Mu yao is not a damsel in distress but also not perfectly right but it's true that she was framed.
Imo the real story is about letting go and start over since as much as we thought the second life had some development, it didn't make what had happened the truth. It's also about how we didn't know people if we never observe them, Hua Qian was self centered and spoiled that she didn't see how her family comes to ruins, how the lord wants to help her and how her action has consequences.
Even the lord supposed to crush on muyao was determined by a 1 instances and that doesn't even end up with more stuff.

I think the drama needs more episode to flesh out what exactly happen since that's what we don't get. Imo the dream excuse the action but didn't explain it because we don't actually get the real fleshed out story from their perspective.

HRZ also too good to be true with lots of plot armor, I feel that the ending of her accepting that the perfect partner is not real makes much more sense. Like you said, that's the best scene for me, to realised that there is another imperfect person out there who also love you and she can only see it after accepting that she is worth to be loved / love herself.

I have love - hate relationship with the ending and it can be solved by extra episode with Xi Wu and Hua Qian. I love the way the story ending, I hate that there is no 30 minutes more of the ending.
I had my doubt in the early episode about the ending , fantasy chinese drama just makes you prepared for a lot of things, from bad ending to limbo ending.
I love the conclusion but I also want to see more Xi Wu in his own pov, in his own story and not from Hua Qian pov. I feel like we got robbed of his story at the end. I know the characterisation can feel the same but it just not him.
Also how does Yelan is popular? I don't get it, I need to know why hua qian falls for him in the beginning. I want to be isekai into this story and changes it. Also I want to know the parrot story , why both of those guy like mu yao because of the parrot scenes.

I think Pinggyego help boost the viewership, not exactly the reason they are successful but it reach a wider audience than the actual promotion, as example mmtg or entertainment weekly, I remember they also promote the my puppy movie which also a success, revenant also promoted in Pinggyego.
The number of views it has for guest episode is huge than other places where the actors definitely comes and talk about their drama/movie.

The funny things about pinggyego is that they hardly talk about the movie/drama but they'll mention the show to make you remember that the guest comes to promote (if they are promoting it). It feels so effective in an interesting way since most people remember about the moving episode is han hyo joo kim , how zo in sung needs more work and eat at the middle of the day, how cha tae hyun is there and they have a drama together.
