their time in the village reminds me of shen li, just our main couple being cute and domestic that i almost forget they were biting each other not too long ago 🤣🤣
not saying this is always the case but there's just something superior about the chemistry between actors the same age and yes it's very much apparent here
i suppose in the end it always comes down to communication issues. it feels unfair to solely blame it on either of them. they both had their shares of fault. her fear of commitment due to her parents' failed marriage; not learning to heal or process it in a healthy manner. she always had one foot out the door in the event that something will happen. the uncertainty whether or not they'll end up like her parents which is why she wasn't able to fully confide in him. of course we can't live in constant fear but we're only human. we can be self sabotaging and destructive sometimes. it's not pretty but it's real. marriage is indeed a big commitment so in general, i think everyone should be on the same page before making decisions. unfortunately it wasn't until after the proposal, they found out late. it's not exactly wrong for him to propose when he believes that's the endgame but it did feel a little naive and somewhat misguided. his anger over her not telling him about important stuff was justified but at the same time when he questioned why she can't make a little "change" for him was quite unfair as if it was an ultimatum. yes i guess it was said in more of an heat in the moment thing but even when they still continued their relationship, him planning their wedding and buying a house secretly showed that he just didn't understand or respected her decision/refused to listen. there are certain things you can't compromise on and believing that you're able to change the person's mind will only hurt everyone in the process. insecurities, immaturity, lack of trust and communication all played a big part in the downfall of their relationship. definitely not throwing shade at anyone here, i can understand their perspectives which is why i'm looking forward to their growth both individually and as a couple.
i'm so happy they saw through the girl's bs right away cause too often they get away with too much, the steak threatening scene was gold lmao someone cast xrh in a villain role asap
the way shi qin stood up to her ex after he destroyed the book containing he si yue's note i got actual chills omg like you can clearly see how it's been a source of comfort to her if it's stronger than her fear
sometimes i feel iffy about second chance romances since there's a good reason why they broke up in the first place but i'm rooting for both of the exes! it's only 24 eps so i don't think there'll be dragging issues. let's hope for the best tho as i did like the beginning eps. :D
"those boys didn't know better. they liked to gain attention by making fun of others. if we felt ashamed, they would achieve their goal, right? so, we need to fight back with courage. let them know that i can't be bullied." 👏👏👏
