They are not as few as you think. Those who make composite portraits of suspects according to the descriptions of one or many witnesses , have the ability to draw portraits without models, ( or even low quality photographs).
It is more difficult to draw a portrait without having any clue or kind of "picture" about how the person looks like, than draw a portrait having already some basic information about how this person's face looks like.
What Shen Yi does in the first episode, where he draws the face of a suspect according to the description that he gets on the phone by one of the policemen, is more difficult than drawing the woman's face from a screenshot of the surveillance video.
And the accuracy of the first portrait is a bit exaggerated because the person that gives the description has to confirm each and every change of each and every feature on the face of the person that is depicted on the portrait. That is the reason why such kind of composite portraits are made in the same room with the artist, but with each and every witness individually.

P.S I'm a painter/ illustrator myself. But not at any police department.. lol

I'm impressed that there were so many people who dropped this drama. The actress that took the role of Choi Ja Hye on the second half of this drama was better on this role than Go Hyun Jung. I don't know what is all that hype about the latter. I didn't like her acting at all and it was the first time that I've watched her in a drama.

I don't like her acting either. I'm watching now the 10th episode so I can't tell if the actress that replaced her was somewhat better, but I don't like the FL acting. She comes out very pretentious. In the style " look at me I'm acting now".
It is the first time that I"m watching her on a drama or film and I can't tell if that is her usual acting style. I plan to watch some other dramas that she participated to have a better picture, but generally speaking my first impression on her so hyped acting is not positive. I find her acting somewhat irrelevant with the character that she is depicting.

Are you going to donate to him a shirt at his size to rip off? lol Because it was his shirt the one that he ripped off at this drama. ha ha haha
Anyway... the concept is to watch him ripping his shirts. I don't particularly care what is the role that he will play when he does so. I just want him to do it! lol

It seems that you are more interested to discuss about Logic than discuss about why some actors and actresses are celebrities only in their native countries.
I bothered with such kind of philosophical discussions when I was in high school, but now I'm not interested at all.
If you can't see what is more than obvious I have neither the intention nor the inclination to persuade you. When and if you see him cast at any international production notify me to watch it!

What more concrete evidence there is other than he has never been cast to an international production? He is known to those that are following Chinese drama and film productions but not anywhere else.
He is Big in China. ( like Big in Japan). It is not a coincidence that there is this "saying". That there are people that are super famous only in their countries but nowhere else.

Which bring us to the point of this discussion which is that those who don't seem to interact in another language other than their own are not cast either in international productions even if they are very good actors.
And you might tell me that this is unfair but... that's the way it is. It wasn't me that I chose the language but it is a requirement if you want to communicate with other people outside your own country. I'm not a native English speaker but I write in English here because if I didn't do so you wouldn't be able to understand a thing.
So the discussion is not if he can speak English. Even if he doesn't he can learn them at any given time ( and not only Zhou Yi Wei but also all other Asian actors) . The heart of the matter is that those who are already successful in their countries don't usually bother to master another language, get out of their comfort zone and run after international productions.
This requires another plus lever of ambition that some people simply don't have it.
Which is not something that we can blame them for of course, but on the other hand some people as just very talented for not trying for something more.
A very characteristic example of what a second language can do to the career of actors is Zhang Zi Yi who has been cast in more international productions than Chinese ones.

Because there is not a single clip showing him speaking a single English word. Not even when he represents international brands, on magazines, commercials etc.

You will not see this happen if he doesn't learn English and move from the local TV productions to something more challenging. Some very successful on TV actors don't even bother after all to do so and I think that this applies to Zhou Yi Wei because this requires from them to get out of their "comfort zone".
They are not all like Takuya Kimura who is trying to learn English and expand his career outside of Japan or Gong Li to mention another Chinese actress that made a international career.
My point is that it is not that they are not cast because the producers don't want them but because they don't have not even the minimum requirement of a second language in their bio.

I've recently found my self dropping more dramas and films that those that I end up watching. Most of them have problematic plots or sluggish pace which make them unwatchable.
I don't know why the producers of these films and dramas can't understand that we have limited time to watch something to entertain ourselves and we are not in the mood to try to unlock the "secrets" or whatever the writer of the plot has in his or her mind.
I'm not saying that a plot has to be shallow in order to retain the interest of the viewers. But it doesn't have to be sluggish or boring or incomprehensible either.

Have you noticed that they always accuse them for tax evasion whenever they want to get rid of them or seize their businesses? The did the same to the guy that created Ali Baba and Ali Express that were the equivalent of Amazon in China. Actually this guy just disappeared and they nationalized his company. Something that everywhere else would be considered as illegal as he didn't made this company with state funds.
But even if Deng Lun cheated, what does this particular drama has to do with his dealings with the state. His company is private and in such cases it is used to fine the cheater and demand from him to pay the taxes that he owes. Not close his company in order to never pay the taxes back. This defeats the purpose you know!
That is the reason why I believe that they just didn't want him to be around. If that wasn't the case, they wouldn't cancel him this way.

I feel for the cult leader actor who had to endure loads of hair bleach in his head in order to get these blond hair! lol

It seems that Deng Lun became very influential way too fast and way to young. Something that the Chinese regime doesn't like at all because it considers as a threat the very talented and capable people.
Anyway... I'm removing this drama from my PTW list along with any other Chinese dramas.

Interesting story plot but sluggish.

I keep watching the first episode and I can't stop laughing. Did he go to bed with his cat or something? I'm talking about the scratches in his back. WTF she didn't even have such long or pointy nails to scratch him that bad. ( and why scratch him after all. The guy is perfectly fuckable ha ha ha) Now I know why this drama was rated that high.

I can't find also the stats for this drama. The button with the little lines that is usually next to the title. I'm asking because I want to check where this rating comes from. Neither the best of the reviews have such a high rating, nor the comments look so positive.

I totally agree with you. The ML seems to be completely dumb. Not to mention that I found the way that she found her body very funny. I LMAO... ha ha haaaaaaa
He wakes up in the sofa, he goes upstairs, he is speaking while he is getting dressed in the bedroom without noticing the splatter at all. Not to mention that he should have been still high as kite after a couple of hours with all that shit that he took at once. But ok.. let's assume that he is still very young and his liver is strong enough and works overtime... ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa
