I'm here again still thinking about the events of episodes 25/26. All the time I was wondering and I couldn't…
their reasoning for not telling Yinzhang was that she can't keep a secret but then they openly kissed in public so idek lol I think it was just the writer's way to get Yinzhang to go to Shen after feeling "betrayed". tbh I'm not really fond of how this part was written. I feel like they could've gotten Yinzhang to side with Shen in another way.
So their acting in the Condor Heroes drama was not good? I haven't seen any condor heroes drama at all.
the 2006 version was visually nice and LYF is visually perfect as Xiao Long Nu although her acting was still pretty wooden at the time. Her male lead, Huang Xiaoming tho.. was doing his best cave man impression idky. I never watched the 2014 version with CX but most people mock it because the female lead (who he ended up marrying in real life lmao) was a complete miscast.
yeah definitely. as with anything popular it will get its fair share of criticism too and people who think it's…
yeah it's still holding up but I can see it falling even more with the wave of 1 stars antis are rating. imo that's what's ridiculous about this whole thing. regardless of how much you don't like this drama.. rating it 1 star makes no sense whatsoever.
I feel like a lot of criticism the drama gets is because it opened to high ratings. 8.3 on douban is almost unheard of these days for these kind of romance historical dramas. I did notice the general mood on weibo was a lot nicer before the douban score opened and then when it was, a lot of people started calling this drama overrated and nit picking every aspect that they normally wouldn't do with other dramas. imo this drama has its faults, mostly in its writing, but its strengths far outweigh those weaknesses.
on an aside, I lowkey like sunniang and du teacher guy's loveline. the scene in episode 25 (or 26) where they chat while she' s on a boat is so well filmed. honestly, just for the directing alone, I'd rate this drama a 8/10. I love all the long camera takes the director does, or how she leaves in background sounds like birds chirping or the bustling streets. It's what elevates the scenes to feel real.
In the opening credits, there’s a scene where QF is quietly smiling at a sleeping PanEr in the pavilion. Has…
I saw some people speculating on douban that's after she moves in with QF. There's a scene of them walking hand in hand inside a large residence. I think that scene was at the same place.
Probably an unpopular opinion but maybe we should all cut Yinzhang a bit of slack?I'm super annoyed with her behaviour…
yeah I find her frustrating but when you realize she's a teenager (I think she's 16/17?) her actions make sense. If you put her story in a modern setting, she would be akin to a rising popstar or idol who suddenly became famous overnight. she feels like she belongs to high society now while Pan Er and their tea shop is lower class. She's definitely immature but she's a very fleshed out character. In fact, I think she has more complexities than Sunniang. I just wish the acting was better.
wut if she's 32 and he's returning from his studies aka a university student.. then how can they be childhood friends. he wouldn't even be alive when she was a kid
I know I sound like a broken record but Song Yinzhang would be SUCH a good character if played by a better actress. Lin Yun is not showing the depth required and just looks lost all the time even her speech during the birthday banquet was so bad. She's also playing the character like it's going to be a villain even tho the actress said the character never goes to the dark side so I'm sitting here like ?? why are you looking at the hair accessory with a jealous/hatred expression
I like how this drama has so far subverted most romance tropes. for example: - when Gu Qian Fan and Zhao Pan Er meet, she's trying to run out and save her own life but she ends up having to save him only because he forces her too whereas we usually see FL save ML just out of kindness, while endangering their own life for no reason. - Gu's father's response to his relationship with Pan Er. I was soo afraid they'd go down the stereotypical family objects to relationship route and create 10 episodes of drama off that but it got solved so quickly, the old man was literally hoping for grandsons the very next scene lol
I think it would be such a pity if the writer reverted to old tropes in the last 14 episodes so I hope the previews were just to throw us off. I have a feeling next week will show Gu Qian Fan being interrogated over his involvement with the Night painting that Ouyang brings back. I think that will tie into their breakup somehow.
holy shit that tear kiss scene and the way she just jumps him afterwards 0__0 they have so much sexual chemistry it's unreal
the fight scenes in this drama are so well choreographed and filmed! the director does so much better than so many so called action directors. at least it's not endless slo-mo and cut aways
Yin Zhang and her creepy man need to leave my screen. do you guys think they had sex? he was removing her top shirt when the scene cut away..
ngl I'm kind of looking forward to the break up because imo it gives the actors more room to shine. I'm loving the eps 32 preview, Gu Qian Fan is killing it with his reaction in that scene
for anyone that can understand mandarin, this is a veryyy good breakdown of the flower bridge kiss and Pan Er's reaction.
