FEELS LIKE I WAS EXCITING FOR NOTHING LMAO They tried to cut out Li Xian out of frame because of Japanese sensitive…
do they portray the japanese in a positive light or something? because there are soo many c-dramas and movies about that era. I don't understand why this drama is suffering so much
there was a chart posted on chinese sites about IQIYI's 2022 line-up. the earliest this can broadcast is Q4. although it hasn't passed censorship yet so we'll see.
Do we know why this was held up in review for so long? People seem to assume it's because of paranoid homophobia,…
homophobia? lmao this isn't bl. the reason it's being held up by the censorship board is because it deals with undercover cops. apparently CX's character is on drugs too while undercover. CCP is sensitive about anything that portrays government officials as bad guys.
honestly at this point I don't even think this drama has a chance of being good after having to edit and cut so much out due to the difficulties of getting past the censorship board. Sad because I kind of like Chen Xiao's look here, kind of reminds me of Tony Leung in Infernal Affairs.
He will break all ties with his father around E33, but you understand why when that happens.
I love when he did that and I thought that scene would've compelled him to rush to Pan Er and reconcile with her but instead we got that comedic mouse trap scene instead. And then after that, he goes back to the whole "we can't be together because my dad killed your dad etc etc" I was soo frustrated with how he responded in ep 36 and it felt so OOC for Qian Fan to care that much about their parents issues.
no. she learns her lesson about men towards the end. there's a bit of "flirting" with Chi Pan at the end but I don't think she's interested in anything serious with men at that point. I honestly think Yinzhang has one of the best growth plots in the show.
I won't spoil but there is one scene in episode 33 between Qian Fan and his father that is SO well acted by CX. I really wish he got more to do in the latter half of the show :/ I feel like even the side characters like Chi Pan and Ou Yang have more scenes than him. I wish CX did more historical dramas these days :/ I don't really like watching modern c-dramas.
I finished all 40 episodes. Imo the ending is a bit convenient and Pan Er's problems are solved a bit too quick/easily. I feel there was a bit of pacing issues because they tried to pack in too much there towards the end. There a lot of high points to this drama and I will definitely check out the director's next work because her eye for visuals is one of the best things about this drama. The writer on the other hand.. I'll pass on them. Imo she ruined the OTP and Qian Fan's character is completely downgraded after episode 30 and is barely even on screen for the last 10 episodes and when he is, he does nothing. The romance was what made this drama popular but it ended up taking a backseat in the later episodes. This drama really could've been THE cdrama classic for me but the writer held it back. I'd give it a solid 8/10 simply because I enjoyed the first 26 episodes so much.
Hey guys! Check WeTV Twitter! Looks like we can also purchase the Express episodes and not wait! Here’s the…
I really don't get the point of this. If they're gonna make people buy the episodes in advance then they should just cancel next week's schedule because everything is gonna get leaked online tomorrow lol but ngl I'm tempted because I just wanna know how they'll resolve the main pairing's misunderstandings
