I think it's because it's been a while since we've seen a main couple in a cdrama with such strong chemistry so most people who followed the drama were drawn by the romance but the side characters are indeed well written and acted and deserve their spotlight too.

I've always disliked him and found him greasy but the actor plays the character with a comedic touch so he isn't as annoying as Ouyang (who is just so whiny and miserable lol).

Chi Yan is an Asshole with a capital A. I don't care if he ends up helping Pan Er later on because his actions these two episodes have been so gross. He treats women like shit.

ep 29 & 30 were good! Yinzhang!! she finally had her moment. I think people looking forward to OTP will be disappointed by these 4 episodes but ngl the other characters all had great moments. I just realized this is what I like so much about this drama, even the side characters feel real and rounded.

the nickname is too immature and there's too much telling and not showing. like they need to actually film him being ruthless instead of telling us 1000x. I feel like they cut a lot of the ML's action scenes.

well.. that's weird and ngl reminds me of how most of her onscreen love interests earlier in her career were way too old for her lol I think Chen Xiao is the first time she acted opposite an actor her age.

tbh GQF has hesitated several times to disclose stuff about his work or personal life with ZPE but they usually get over the misunderstanding in the same episode. I kind of wish the same happened here but looks like this plot will drag for a few episodes. It just feels like a plot device to separate the leads because the director mentioned that all the characters will go back to how they were like in the beginning so for ZPE, she lost her tea shop in the storm and also lost her love.

oh forgot to mention tencent is gonna show the last 8 episodes earlier for some paid members on the 26th so there will prob be leaks

and I checked the previews and he still seems to be separated from her for at least 4 more episodes u__u I NEED HIM TO GROW A MOUTH AGAIN

lord the plot I was hoping they'd avoid is here u__u I don't like how they wrote ML in these two episodes. they've always been very open with their communication and now he's suddenly just going to hide from her? I get he found out the truth about her father but still.. this is ooc

yes the boat scene from ep 5 is my second favorite! I love how you can tell when these two started liking the other without any dialogue indicating it. That's good acting.

what are your guys fav Pan Er/Qian Fan moments so far? My absolute fav is the scene from episode 6 from the time she runs to him and they walk between this curtain thing up to the the court yard moment under the umbrella. That was the first time I felt intense sexual chemistry from them. Qian Fan's stare in that scene was so intense and prodding and you could feel Pan Er dodging his glances. That scene was so well filmed. It's kind of funny how after they started dating, Qian Fan turned into a puppy lol

Pan Er is such a good female lead the more I think about it. She's limited by the period setting but she is so independent and strong willed and ugh I just like her character so much. The scene in ep 25 where she saves GQF was amazing like she just took charge. It's kind of funny that GQF's dad was reduced to the character that sobs and doesn't know what to do.

honestly, MDL ratings are pointless because all it takes is a large fanbase to get high ratings. that's why all the dramas with traffic stars always have high ratings even when they're terrible.

lmao samee the stance and the slow mo, I couldn't take it seriously. they always give him some lowkey funny scenes that are supposed to be impressive but end up being funny because of the way it was filmed. same with the fish scene in ep 23

I weirdly find him more handsome when he had a mustache and was on the run

tbh it's never really clear if GQF knows YZ likes him. I think he kind of has a gest when he sends her away from the bday banquet because she was giving him weird expressions and he seemed kind of uncomfortable lol

I think Sanniang & Pan Er treat her too much like a child and she also does behave like a spoiled child. I feel like we'll get some kind of reconciliation in the next episodes because I remember Pan Er said in eps 26 that YZ should be treated as a grown up now.
