well idk anything abt donghua, if anything i would probably dislike it the same in the original source, character who insert themselves too much in other ppl business will never not get on my nerves 😭

it is not abt her being carefree, i dislike that she is inserting herself too much on her sister lovelife, ik her sister probably appreciate it and all, but it is annoying to see her talking down to every guy that interested in her sister, like yes she can do it but the way she did on the dining scene pissed me off so bad, you dek the guy like that, she is only judging based on her generalisation towards noble ppl, simply said: she is arrogant bc she think they are better person than the others

and to add, i also dislike wu xuanyi character for the same way, she meddle too much in her brother lovelife, like pls give it a rest, i dont remember much now bc they both annoying me too much so i basically skip the scene of them meddling into their family lovelife, both of ML and FL are adults esp FL can cleary put a distance towards ppl she not interested in, shenyue can help but there is simply better way than wtv she is doing by talking down to ppl who she barely knew, and ML is an adult, he made the decision not to tell her, WXY can help as well but pls read the room like ZXW character did, he knows when to retreat

ppl not liking this show?? some moments literally made my heart skip, like the scene in ep1/2 iirc where she hand his sword back to him and plan their next meeting, that is just so well done! but i never watch or read the original source media so if it deviate too much i definitely understand the criticism. i love zhang yunlong but his drama has always been a hit or miss for me so i have been looking forward for this, and for liu shishi i was greatly impressed with her assassin role in a journey to love (tho i hate her lovestruck side) so i have always wanted to watch her next drama but always missed the right timing and eventually lose interest 😂 so far this show brought me out of my drama slump

ml in ep3 is pissing me off, he does nothing for me to be angry abt but that's exactly why bc i hate seeing scheming ppl win, i know this is not some OP character i just get angry bc i expect him to be prepared 😂 anyway me and cnets rarely agree on shows we like, they love smth like blossoms and LGIEF but i love smth like this

i really recommend the novel tho you might think the plot is similar and all but i personally think there is always difference in reading and watching. maybe im biased but i personally think the novel deserved of all the hype it's gotten. i genuinely had hard time moving on from the novel when i first read it, definitely my top 3 chinese romance novel in the sense of romance centred followed by fall/falling in love. Eg AASOL i find the novel bland and the drama better tho i dont actually quite enjoy the show at first due to wulei acting 😅

tbf even first frost drama airs there has always been talk about the movie version bc the novel and the radio drama itself are hugely loved

i think that was how it is in the bginning just like how i had to drop hidden love bc i love sang yan too much and my introduction to it was through the novel, so it actually makes me angry that they turn his character into a comedic relief but i actually start warming up to victor ma potrayal last year, i personally still had issue with hidden love production team for making him more goofy tho bc i fully believe they can make him a bit goofy while also retaining his nonchalant, aloof side. Ppl keep saying that was how sang zhi & family view but i have read first frost many times and my memory of sang yan was not only yifan think he is aloof, even his friends think so, so while he may be more warm to his family, i still think part of his original self should be retained to make it more in tune with his real self

still contemplating to start this bc i feel like it is a really great show but i dislike the potrayal of introvert here from all the clips i have seen, not saying it was a false potrayal bc many are like her and ik they are simply sharing her side of stories but there is this feeling inside of me that angry bc it kind of increase the 'belief' of what introverts are when we are so diverse. i am a loud introvert and is one in the sense that ppl barely know me deeply, i dont keep in touch with my contacts, not even friends, i love being alone and like staying at home, but i dont actually have issue mingling with ppl socially, i just prefer my solitude but again, im loud

bc the novel has huge followings, like it is one of the most popular romance chinese novel, not even just simply popular but among the top bc the number is almost on par with danmei novel, and since the drama changed few things that got the novel fans mad

havent watch the show and i love my parents but i agree i wish my parents taught me real life skills like being in kitchen. it really helps and really make a difference. my friends just think im someone who doesnt know anything but my parents literally never rlly force me to do it, they are expecting voluntary help which smth im not good at. i just feel shy to offer help first bc it makes me feel like im a good person (eventho it was just simple thing and i hate that feeling) and i hate it more that when i offer my help sometimes, my mom basically saying there's nothing to do bc to extend help was already a big courage i need to muster only to get my spirit dampen like that. it's not helping that when im in kitchen i dont like being watched by others so i never rlly get to learn until now that im away from my family

read the novel sang yan in first frost is closer to real sang yan self bc you are also seeing description of him not only through yifan lenses but through his friend. likewise my feeling watching hidden love as novel readers are similar bc sang yan in novel is potrayed as cold, it only took me last year to actually warm up to that version of sang yan being a comedy character hence read the novel, im not sure if it bc i met novel sang yan first but i genuinely think novel sang yan has the most attractive character out of all version of him, and honestly worth reading if you wish to understand why he is the author most popular character in mainland

i know you meant this as a zhang ruonan praise but have you ever watch her movies bc this has always been the kind of roles she played, ofc she is improving again playing sleepwalking character bc iirc i havent seen that in her movies (didnt watch her dramas besides TFF so idk) but emotional character wise, that has always been her strongest forte imo

it is bc the novel is soooooo loved, forst frost is a hit for both radio drama and manhua so the fandom is really big. since roduction team dare to make some changes they gotta embraced the criticism too. ofc novel adaptation couldnt follow 100% of the novel storyline but since they dare to deviate and add scenes, they gotta be brave to embrace the reactions too, be it good or bad

real novel age gap is 7 years but still it wasnt predatory, it feel slight predatory to me only bc man didnt hesitate or feeling conflicted at all, i dont need him to feeling so conflicted but at least i was hoping there was at least 1% but i dont see it in the novel, ofc it wasnt a concern at all since he didnt harbor such feelings for her since she was a child but no hesitation at all also makes me feeling a bit disturbed but ofc that's just me

gonna ruin your mood again bc chances 99% he was never offered bc that will offend novel fans since sang yan is one of the most popular novel character in china (more popular than DJX) and the director himself said many are scared to play main lead roles bc the characters are so loved there and when casting team are considering someone fans would always have smth to say

read first frost novel it is so much better than the drama

i dont think hidden love pain or angst was ever sad, dont get me wrong i mean it in the sense where it will give you heartwrenching pain or your heart ache for the character, but rather hidden love pain was just some character sadness which i would make a sad face with but quickly move on and no attachment whatsoever. first frost angst is the kind where it would hurt, the drama itself has more serious tones and definitely can be seen as more matured shows, it is the kind i would clarified has slight angst while hidden love i would only clarify as pure fluff despite the angst part bc it just not sad at all.

but, i recommend reading the novel, first frost novel is so so much better than the drama, having reading both, i enjoyed both novels but HL is forgettable for me while i still remember the feelings first frost gave but ofc i'm the kind that prefer romance with strong yearning and tension and i felt that with first frost.

no fr what i hate is the drama regressing her character and that they make sangyan being sooooo loved again, making viewers pitying him as if sangyan wasnt one of the most popular novel character in china, he is loved enough, there is no need to make him more loved by regressing her character. i understand that she has more trauma in the drama but one of major point of this scene in the novel is her character progression, how this became the turning point of her laying bares to him, it was her own iniative and i want it to stay that way. i understand all the nanhong chinese fans criticism before but it is especially more annoying now, what i hate is the douban score the drama will receive after bc i still it is a good show but the novel is too good for the drama to get such rating ☹️ like yes douban doesnt matter but i just dont like it for my fav novel to get that result hahha
