I see. Maybe she's not good with acting childish/whiny. I don't mind her here cos at least she's quite smart. But I do prefer her in more serious roles. I remember she looked and acted very differently even as a guest in Love Between Devil and Fairy. I had to do a double take to realize it's her.

I thought the slurring was deliberate and less of a technical issue. I don't understand why. I thought it could be an attempt to sound babyish. I don't mind her acting here but the slurring is odd for me.

I've watched LYT in other dramas but cannot remember if those were in her voice or dubbed. For this drama, she slurs quite a lot. I keep wondering why this character needs to slur? To sound cute? Any one has thoughts on this?

Yes, quite annoying. But taking into account his background, he really doesn't know anything about courtship or love so I'll excuse his inability to emote correctly toward the FL at this stage. He's really very childish.

I watched this first over Starry Love so I think I like this more even though I enjoy watching Starry Love.

You're right. Usually the popular ones get low rating. It's also interesting that their taste on Kdramas differ from the international. What is popular with the international audience are sometimes rated rather low there.

I think the 1st 2 episodes were not so easy to watch but for those who completed the drama, they would likely score this high.

Of course 9.1 is excellent but seriously on Douban, anything close to 8 is not bad because of the number of people reviewing.

Expected more due to the media coverage but turned out to be a mediocre production. The acting was also not exceptional.

I would be surprised if she cried buckets over YQ. I think the emotional aspect was well handled. She wasn't in love with him. It wasn't grief over the loss of him for herself but more like she was sad because he's such a good god and was so willing to sacrifice for everyone's sake.

The sidekicks of both male leads are one-of-a-kind funny. Both have great EQ.

This is a great show! I love it. The story and the cast are amazing and ZRY is such a great actor. No wonder he receives so much raves. Plus while it is intense, the drama is short and not draggy. Very good ending too.

This definitely deserves like a 9 on MDL. Personally, I rated it 10.

The rating for this drama is too low. Deserves at least an 8.5. It's good quality and does not belittle the audience's IQ. The life of the real king was tragic but the ending is good.

Nah. I find her views exaggerated. Their line delivery is okay by my standard. It's not bad really especially compared to some other actors in other dramas. As for SWL, I've always been lukewarm about him due to his acting skills but this drama, I think the role suits him and it works out for me.
