LOL well i'm careful to advertise something until I finish it, lest it become a disappointment and you're embarassed you told anybody about it ahahah(a lesson all us drama junkies have probably learned)..no but KoD doesnt look like that. Its really, really engaging with high energy; somethin new is going on like every 5 minutes I feel like I've watched 20 episodes lol..its a little crazy, in a good way B] But I'm glad KoD is getting good press on here, which it deserves (though I dont understand why the rating isnt higher?) because it is quality so far.

Thats great I have a few tai dramas on my list i think as well. hopefully you'll discover drama thats surprisingly good :]

thanks ~u~ thats great im glad you're able to laze around again. thankfully i'm closer to that now than i was; the work has become less intense, so my time is definitely more free :D it might get crazy again down the line but i'm enjoying this breather ~.~ gotta make it last

ahh well its good to take a break from dramathoning; i'm sure we'll both be back to that in no time ahaha ;] as for KOD I'm liking it so far; solid characterization (seems like there will be great character development), quick pace/good writing & a steady build-up/setup for whats to come, which includes a crazy twist xD so hopefully there wont be anything disappointing out of nowhere later on

and yes 'tis mee ^^;since taking that pic ive gone thru 2 other looks and am now right back to that one so im like i guess i'll update if im inspired but i pretty much look the same (yayy for convenient photos ^.~)

HNNNHHGGGGGG you can probably guess why ive been absent -.- my schoolwork has been cray cray (started taking more than one class in jan.) so much writing its ridic lol but im back aww yes; (did NOT plan to be gone this long)and i finally got to start watching king of dramas like yesterday lol im on ep. 3.
so how's school on your end? and your drama slump? ofc, i have watched nothing ahaha; but i made note of a few plus some movies i wanna check out, so i'll take any recs you might have

Loll omg I hate malls! I'm not a huge shopper (i like to buy a lot at one time) & I've never been a huge fan of shopping because of how stressful it can be, mainly in malls, so I mainly shop in smaller stores like target, forever21s that arent in malls, sometimes ross and this place called zizibeh. I feel your pain! But hopefully you've gotten it over with. And luckily the few people I get gifts for ask for simple things, like I do, like gift cards & money (which gives you more freedom to get what you want anyway) so I'm spared having to hunt for gifts & brave the crazy crowds. But don't worry you have next year to try and start early :]

ahh I'm glad you love christmas movies, they're great. and home alone is a classic, it was actually on abcfamily not too long ago as part of their ongoing 25 days of christmas marathon lol; i enjoyed watching Elf when they showed it too

eee! i'm glad i could remind you of charmed ;D nostalgiagasm. there are so many other shows/cartoons i watched from the 90s that i love rewatching, i.e. xena.. ive seen a few mentalist eps but havent really watched it either. was a huge fan of csi las vegas though

ah! i forgot to say as far as bollywood, just watched some great song vids on youtube, and started shahrukh khan's filmography with Deewana; he seems like a really good actor. but i may continue that later than sooner since viewing other things

But yea i think a break from dramaland can do wonders; helps us be free to remember our other sources of joy and enjoyment from our varied interests in other styles of shows & movies :D and when we miss dramaland, we can then enjoy it more/naturally when we return <3

how has reply 1997 been? it was on my ptw list i think. i wish i had more special dramas to recommend, but thats the way the ball bounces for now u.u to quote hallyuback in her priceless review vid lol
I for one am waiting though until after christmas to start King of all Dramas since thats when it'll be done airing, so I hope that'll be promising ;D

so what led me to charmed, i was listening to my 80s mix while working on the paper, and some songs from Fright Night came on (come to me, give it up, etc) and it made me remember Jerry & how seductive he was in it so i was like ooh maybe i'll watch that or some other vampire media with sexy evil people, which made me think of Interview with the Vampire next and i was like ooh oh oh i havent seen that in a while i might watch that..and while i kept thinking about those, almost instantly i remember Julian McMahon as Cole on charmed and i was like ughhh i have to watch those seasons again he was so beautiful ahahah which i thought was the perfect plan, since i had already started re-watching the whole series like a year ago but had stopped towards the end of the season right before Julian's character shows up. Since its been so long its like watching the show for 1st time aha its been fun

yea i started watching sungkyunkwan scandal shortly after we had talked but wasnt motivated to continue; and i had only checked your completed list when i recommended it to you but i saw right after that you had dropped it lol sorry about that. I didnt feel like starting QIHM either and didnt want to force myself to watch anything (cant enjoy that way)so i started enjoying some christmas movies on tv (i love christmas) & simultaneously watched an entertaining walkthrough for twilight princess on youtube lol and somehow ended up getting back into my Charmed dvds.. oh! i remember how now, i'll explain in the next comment.

I died laughing at certain parts; she used such perfect similes, references and descriptions. Reading her review reminded me of the energy i lost for writing more detailed reviews so i got some motivation back or my review-writing "groove" back. i'm only honored her bday is so close to mine ;D

yep people are more important than opinions, which are nothing to be threatened by; and different opinions are a great way to learn different things :D they own their opinions and you own yours which is perfectly fine and not negative, & the sky wont fall if everyones opinions dont change to yours lol
its great to see the person beyond the opinions, especially since opinions can and do change so very often (which makes getting hung up on them not worth it), but the person's character usually remains

so having seen everything of a certain type wont make anyone an expert; but people who believe that dismiss valuable information, believing it wont come from anyone not overexposed to whatever they're into. a consummate kdrama watcher can watch a show and know its crap, and someone who watched the show as their first kdrama ever can do the same lol its not complicated

and omg did you see one of them call it a "masterpiece"? but excuse me "of the melodramas category" (i thought a masterpiece is a masterpiece, that doesnt require the explanation of genre) the same person you quoted..she basically proved your point; i am so done lol

and i agree the amount of dramas watched is irrelevant if you lack the ability to identify basic flaws of media presentation. its a skill you either have or you dont, and watching every show & movie is not necessary in knowing whether its there or not. good writing, directing, & acting are always the same in contrast to bad, no matter the country a movie/show comes from. These aspects are always recognized by the same standard regardless of the culture they're from whether its bollywood, asia or america. basically, good production is good production, and bad is bad which means anyone who's seen quality media one place will be able to recognize it anywhere else. KDramas are just one type of media and arent exempt from the standard of whats good and what isnt in terms of production, as though judged with different rules than all the world's other media lol

no worries i didnt think u had seen the convo, but was relating to how you said you cant help your bitterness & ranting, that sometimes i cant either & this time led me to waste some in the wrong place instead of with a friend like you did lol yep all my beneficial wisdom gone w/the wind. definitely confirmed we're the minority lol; complete waste of time/energy, a mistake i wont make again. cant make a dent in balloons!
