i have no issues with the character. i get it and its an interesting take on her love/savior dependency and the thin lines (and perhaps lack thereof) between that. its the actress. in the first 6 eps she plays from the following script: "firefighter loses favourite rescue lab in a fire - but its soul and full being transports into a human female - she then runs around attempting to reclaim her firefighter so they can reunite and she can be his trusty walkies partner once again. ear scratches and belly rubs included" - then ill give her performance a friggin oscar

this FL was trying to play quirky cheeky almost a la Janice Wu, but unfortunately came off too much as a golden labrador instead. hard to see romance when you play your character that way πŸ€”. as one of the greats once said "never go full retard".

but knowledge and experience wise she IS a receptionist in the beginning and when she does that to him...i didnt say she had no education.

at ep 7 and cute story. different from your usual marriage tropes...but im not digging the whole arrogant glorified receptionist throws tantrums at and teaches higher educated exec how to do his job πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. i understand these shows are targeted towards us women..but we're not that chicken brained that we need these kinds of scenarios to amplify the value of our gender. come on. this is just pandering to idiots (and their stupid wet dreams) at this point πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

definition of understated this one. great story, wonderful acting. very lovely couple. VERY surprised by the awesome costumes (its a big thing for me in any show). funny as heck when needed. loved how they made fun of every trope under the sun (i was wheezing at the poison make out sessions). daddi tang needs more princely roles - he does em well and his look permits him to be very princely (not the cold kind). cast and crew really understood the assignment on this one. very well done

I respect your opinion, each person is different and has their own perspective. I couldn't see that. I loved it,…
why are copy pasting almost the same replies under everyones opinions? i think this drama was an insult to Liu

poor Liu is getting the Jeremy treatment. the problem wasnt one actress was worse or better - the problem was the director couldnt decide if he wants to make a serious show.or an idol rom com. so we were given a grown ass man with a sexy raspy voice and grown up darkish demeanor - and general grown up things to do - babysitting children with iqs of the scooby doo gang. of course he couldn't solve his wife's murder until the childish, presumptuous and smug FL came along and used her ABC block detective skills to solve it for him πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. she also brought along her barney and friends sidekicks in the form of 2ml and his unbelievable love line with a useless teenager. i love li ge - hes got something and i watch his stuff, .but you cannot pit him against Liu as 2nd ML. theyre not in the same category. they should have given ML role to a neutral idol actor and not someone like Liu who we are used to seeing in more complex roles with an adult depth to them. this is where this show failed utterly. hence the weird chemistry. they all tried but they looked liked jeremy in his yongan dream show..just a grown up surrounded by kids. sad cuz its not a bad one time watch but its just so potpourri that your head hurts watching it sometimes. or..given the fl 2ml Nd his loveline to more adult behaving actors. and no i didnt like the first actress over the second. the second one could at least keep her face from twitching and twisting into pouty droopy territory (altho i dont understand why she chose to portray her character in a comedic tone)- they didnt suit each other tho - they make no sense as each others replacements at all.

now i understand why jeremy quit πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. beautiful costumes, a potentially good premise, and wonderfully unique and quirky jeremy - surrounded and wrapped in childish script interpretation, and line delivery, a love line so tepid he looks awkward performing it whilst having to put up with typical cheesy flower petals/dumbass 2ml rival/slow mo glances. it just doesnt suit the poor guy. the cast was not to blame. its the director..who assumed its ok to take someone like jeremy in shove him into a beginners level romcom. the outfits were dope tho (especially all the official male ones..just wowza). jeremy has a johnny depp-esque approach to his acting - it really doesnt belong in a high school rom com πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. this story would have been better without him...or with a darker, more adult and grittier interpretation if they insisted on having him. he can easily pull off a wonderful older man younger woman role...but dont make his character be like a teenager either πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ.shame. hes a really interesting actor

So sad they had to cut and censor so much of this series. It’s one of my favourite series, wish we got the 94…
damn....shows like this can easily go on longer and we'd all happily watch it

dear short dramas - when you have barely any time and episodes, stop trying to focus on creating sappy stories for all the secondary characters under the sun to attempt making something meaningful, all the while ignoring your main leads. otherwise call your show "the everlasting sorrow of the second male lead, and also some more sappy sad times for another random character who was supposed to be the funny relief guy but we wanted to give him depth and philosophical value, oh and also theres a love story in the background for the main leads"

they both had flaws and grew together - that was the point of the show. he was attracted to her because she was so pure and saw through his evil image - and was willing to go to great lengths to protect him, despite her own brainwashing by the immortals.
also - this is a fantasy drama....1000s of years is a short time by human standards - who are we to say whats possible or not in a fantasy world created by the writer? its too.unreal? but flying humans, fairies and demons are real? lol

I find Esther Yu as a very good, pretty and talented chinese actress. She's very perfect for the role of Little…
i agree. shes a wonderful actress and plays her roles very well. not every actress can command that kind of voice and not annoy the viewers. in fact shes probably the only one. she did wonderful justice to her character

That's Deng Lun for you. I still cannot get over this drama because of Deng Lun. I miss him sm 😭. But I REALLY…
no i never got rid of the frustrations tbh. the love story never really picked up (it was just frustrations after frustrations 90% of the time and 10% bits of their love story) and i couldnt stand the female lead till the very end. her tiny redemption arc just couldnt make up for my complete lack of understanding why all these people liked her awful unappealing character tbh. the actress also couldnt measure up as someone charming enough (deng lun was just miles ahead of her). shes good at playing annoying petty childish characters...and thats it. i dont see any other allure to her - hence in my opinion this show was wasted by miscasting the FL.

i agree. after it was over i felt so empty when trying to watch any other shows 🀣🀣. such a weird admission but hey, here we are.

to be fair - "better build up" is what i wanted..i felt like a chunk of development was...missing. i love my slow pace if its entertaining and written well. i also wont kick out fast development if done right

it was hard in the beginning cuz FL was just...i dunno...off? something was off. her voice, her attempt to play this perfect innocent character. twas weird. but once i got past those episodes (somewhere around ep 6 or so), i fell in love. wonderful show. great cast, beautiful settings and touching love story. altho i love the villians styling, his love obsession made zero sense..they didnt flesh that out at all. this actor makes a great villian tho. the villian line was weak af tbh..considering how awesomely villiany the villian was..his idea/backstory were cartoonish.
