yes but most of their journeys are the same plot points and scenes in slightly different setting, so might as…
Yes :) But even if it feels like it's the same story all over again - dramas do differ by details, cinematography, music, CGI, acting and directing, as well as the level of writing and utilizing the popular tropes. And I personally prefer to watch something that has high production value, good script and acting, even though it's missing an ending, then a weaker production with a destination. But that's a matter of personal needs, so if you prefer finished stories, that's great too! :)
I loved Detective L and really wished it had a sequel but so far, nothing.I'm currently watching Douluo continent…
Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the article ^^ You're probably right about the ratings and the economy side of producing a sequel. But if it's such an uncertain thing, in my opinion the writers should try to think about ending the story in such way that doesn't leave the viewers frustrated or outright angry about "wasting time on an unfinished story" :)
Interesting article. I would say the Princess Agents ending was actually quite definitive. Sure, there is a 5-10…
The "going off the rails" is what I actually love in Princess Agents xD (maybe because it was my first story with good or neutral people developing into villains, and it fascinated me), but to each their own ^^ I agree, PA lacks only a few additional scenes and it could be so much better than just leaving us in the middle of the lake :D and in the middle of a action sequence... JoL did the same, but deliberately - and we were clearly told that it's not the intended end of the story. Even if we don't get one though, we can think about it as an ending, just as you said :) Personally I'm dealing with it by the means of this one fanfic which shows a possible sequence of next events, and which suits my taste ^^ AD is fine as it is, it just has a potential for developing a new chapter of the story, and that's what I'm regretting here. Thank you for the comment!
from all your dramas described above, i only know joy of life, and here, I don't mind the cliffhanger ending,…
Oooh, that's a good quote in this context, too! ^^ (btw I love Neverending Story and Momo :D) I agree that fanfiction helps when the ending is missing, or when it's not one that we were expecting; it can also expand the world of the original story or explore some interesting concepts what could not be presented in the story :) Thank you for the comment!
Adding to the list we have sword snow stride, a second season is needed because we only reached the beginning…
I have yet to watch Snow Sword Stride. But it's funny that it's another drama with Zhang Ruoyun as the MC which needs a second season :D I'm surprised by your mention of The Blood of Youth though - I'm still in the middle of watching, but I haven't heard that it needs a sequel before? Thank you for the comment :)
Out of the dramas that I've mentioned in the article - I'd say Young Blood or Princess Agents. It's true though that none of these dramas are primarily focused on romance.
Thank you for the article. The only reason I didn't watch Princess Agents is because of the ending. Your article…
Thank you for the comment! Yes, if cliffhangers kill your joy of watching the drama, it's best to check if the drama has and ending or not before you start watching :) But if you ever try watching Princess Agents - just have in mind that you can think about the missing ending in any way that feels right for you! It may help enjoying the drama ^^
Thanks for this interesting read! Unfinished arcs, cliffhangers, and open endings make me feel really antsy -…
I'm glad you liked the article and thank you for sharing your thoughts! ^^ Hmm, in the end I also prefer dramas that have a proper ending (but one that actually fits the whole narrative structure), and I totally get the need for escapism :) You're right about BL-inspired dramas - but for me this is a different case: it's a deliberately left open ending, not a "to be continued" or "a plot cut in the middle" type of ending. So yeah, I have nothing against open endings done right (as you said, not in a sloppy writing way, but in a fitting and meaningful for the story way)! Do what feels right to you - if you still prefer defined happy endings, that's great too! ^^
princess agent is the reason why i hate unfinish drama ,,how can they do that! ,, and detective L story is more…
I'm sorry these dramas make you feel this way... If you really can't stand open endings or unfinished dramas, than maybe not even starting them is a smart choice ^^
I hope you can still give C-dramas another chance, though!
I'm also waiting to see these two together again ^^
