Seriously though, the article is so cool! I didn't even realize how much different options there are ^^
I'm not very interested in the romance genre per se, I prefer when it's just a secondary plot, that's why I also have low tolerance on triangles, squares, and more complicated shapes :) The Toradora-Effect square sounds like fun though, I'd like to watch one drama like that - I added Miss No Good on my to-watch list :)

Last year I watched a drama of A Whole Mess type, but with a hexagon and with an additional third wheel xD and yes, it was as bad as it sounds ^^

From my (limited) experience with xianxia dramas - the characters who are cheeky and shameless often give off rather creepy vibes to me... And that's not the type of character I'm looking for :)

You make a good point - the type of main character does depend on the type of drama :) Also - most of the male leads in costume C-drama are burdened with some kinds of responsibilities which make it nearly impossible for them to act and express themselves freely, hence their stoicism and seriousness.

Well... I got a bit lucky this time :D It's a good lesson for me though, next time I'll remember to make more extensive research or just ask someone more knowledgeable if the theses of my article are correct, before I submit it :) (yep, you can expect to be this kind of person ^^)

I did try to watch Jun Jiu Ling, but I only got as far as the first 15 minutes, and I felt like I wasn't vibing with this drama at all... but maybe I'll give it another chance in the future :)

Sounds great! High school dramas are not my preferred genre in general, but this year somehow I ended up watching quite a few of them (all of them were K-dramas though) :) So I'll put this one on the to-watch list, too! ^^

Haha, the first draft was very similar, just a little bit more stiff... So I changed some phrases, added some comments, and tried to write the conclusions in a lighter way :)

Ok, thank you for the clarification and the warning ^^ I think I don't mind love triangles if they're done well, and not just for the melodrama purpose. It's good to know the drama is somewhat heartbreaking, though - I have to be in a certain mindset to watch it :)
