I applaud the choice of actors and the director :) although, as many people in the comment section, I also had a problem with visualizing Im Shi Wan as the Gunslinger, until I finally remembered where I have seen him before (Strangers from Hell) :D So now I believe that indeed, it could work! ^^ I know almost nothing about the history of Korea, so I can't tell if such western-like storyline could work in a historical setting. However, I would gladly watch it transferred into either sci-fi (someone in the comments has already mentioned space cowboys :D Space cowboys can be fun, at least judging from what happens in Cowboy Bebop!) or some kind of dystopian society, maybe similar to Akudama Drive?
A fun and interesting article! :D I have to mention my favourite wuxia Ummies: the drak blue one with white pattern, wielded as a weapon by Zhan Shiqi in Ancient Detective, and the host of extremely badass Ummies in Bloody Romance: white, but gaining more and more blood-red patterns with every kill that their owners make ^^ Two memorable scenes with umbrellas from other dramas would be for me: - Lu Yi using an umbrella in a heavy rain to shield Yuan Jinxia holding a cat (in Under the Power) - Gu Xiang looking for Wen Kexing in a storm (Word of Honor)

Yes, The Abyss probably hasn't even finished filming yet, but I'm already worried about it being put away for an undetermined future, because of the regulations I've mentioned :D In the current climate, it will definitely be only bromance/friendship...

Because it's based on a BL novel, and as far as I understand, the last broadcasting regulations in China were like "we can't have too many BL-novel-based adaptations at the same time". And it's probably one of the reasons we're still waiting for Immortality, Winner is King, and some other dramas...
