Princess Agents is a torn in my heart followed closely by Joy of Life. Seriously once in awhile I go and read…
Yes, when it's not even a cliffhanger, but basically a scene cut short in the middle, it hurts the most :)
I'd love to see the sequel to Ancient Detective - this story has SO MUCH potential, thanks to the revelations of the last episode!
Let's wait for the Legend of Shen Li... and hope for the best for our leads this time! ^^

I really want to watch Tribes and Empires but it seems like one of those best to stop early, and I don't know…
Yes, it's hard to figure it out on your own, so it would be best to just ask someone who has already seen the entire drama, as in the last example you mentioned :)

Yes, Young Blood 2! That one was astonishingly good, and though I could see the ending a mile off (not a cliffhanger,…
Yes, I understand what you mean about the drama of the last scenes of JoL, which comes in large part from the brilliant performances of the actors involved ^^
I'm also waiting for the sequel - and I've seen the first few episodes of SSS, Zhang Ruoyun plays quite similar characters in both dramas :D But as far as I know, SSS doesn't have a defined ending, too... :D

Love your article, very well written. Princess Agents was probably the best open ending drama I have ever watched.…
Thank you for reading, and for such nice comment :)
You're right about the cast issue! We love the characters because of the way they are played by specific actors; if the actor gets changed, the character has to change too, at least slightly, and the entire drama doeasn't feel the same anymore.
I haven't experienced it yet - but it is the case with one of the six leads of Young Blood, who got replaced for the sequel. I'm both excited and slightly apprehensive to see how it works... :)

this is a really really well done article! Big Congrats for your hard work! Also, I love your line with the "having…
Thank you for reading, and for this nice comment! ^^
Yeah, this is only possible when you ask someone who has already seen the drama - when is the best moment to stop watching and avoid an unfinished arc...

Thank you my friend for this great & thought-provoking article!! Imagining a different ending, or filling out…
I'm happy you liked the article, thank you for sharing your experiences! ^^
I found a fanfic set after the last scene of JoL and it was so well written that reading it was enough for me to get over the cliffhanger :) But I'd still love to see the second season and I hope it gets produced eventually :D
And you're so right about the last point! :)

Most dramas don’t stay with me but Princess Agents was so well done and acted that it has never left me. Chu…
Thank you! :)
Princess Agents was my second costume C-drama, but I remember it so much more vividly than the first one I watched (The Flame's Daughter) - exactly because of the reasons that you stated ^^
JoL made me feel equally frustrated as Princess Agents though :D

I experienced the same issue with Goodbye, My Princess, in 2019. I had never liked the series until I decided…
I'm glad you had such an experience! Maybe because the second time you already knew how the story ended (or not ended...), you were focused more on everything that you appreciated about the series and thus were able to enjoy it more? :)

I fully agree that dramas which end with a cliffhanger or have an open ending stay in your mind longer. In fact…
No, that's a good attitude that allows you to enjoy all kinds of dramas! Which is great as it doesn't limit the number of dramas to choose from ^^
Thank you for the comment!

Thank you for sharing this great article! I didn't realize there were THAT many legal dramas released last year ^^ It's not my favourite genre, but I like good mystery so I loved May It Please The Court! I wish there were more dramas with such concise and satisfying plot :)

Hi friend, I'm sorry but somehow I've missed your article last December. Or did I? My oh my I can't remember.☹️Anyway…
Hi! It's okay, I'm happy you liked it :D I still haven't properly watched Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty... last year just after I started, other c-dramas suddenly got released, so I put it for later and yeah, here we are :) maybe I'll try once again now, I miss watching costume c-dramas, especially with this kind of MLs ^^

Nice article with very reasonable reasonings!
I watch both currently airing dramas (and suffer the waiting time), and already aired dramas - with the latter I tend to binge the first few episodes and then choose the way of watching the rest of them... Because as you said, sometimes it's impossible to put a drama down, and sometimes it's impossible to watch more then 1-2 episode a day :) It really depends on the genre and themes.

Oooh, I didn't realize you wrote a second article in such short time... My mind is all over the place these days and I'm prone to missing various details :/ Anyway - good job! :)
I agree that Lee Kyu Hyung is an amazing actor, I only saw him in Life and Stranger 2 (both thanks to you btw ^^) but I was very impressed with acting skills! I definitely want to watch Prison Playbook :) And hopefully we'll see much more dramas with him in the future!

I'm really sorry for getting here so late, but: thank you for introducing me to this kind of music! From the selection presented here, I loved especially "Lost Woods" and "through the motion of the masses" :) I think I will be listening to more of it from now on, especially while working - I am one of these people who usually needs some background noise ^^)

And I must say that it's amazing to me how you can interpret the music and put it into such fitting words (because I can only describe songs by using simple adjectives like "nice", "beautiful", "energetic", "joyful", "sad", "haunting", and here my eloquence ends :D) I had no problems envisioning the scenes in dramas you described, with such music as a background!

Your articles are always surprising and creative, even though a bit niche :D Keep them coming ^^

It's an amazingly comprehensive article, thank you for writing it and sharing it with us!! I've been a fan of Zhou Shen since late 2019, and just as you, I first heard him singing OSTs without knowing who he was :D but then I got to know him more through Our Song ^^ I still can't believe how one person can pull both an incredibly hard and beautiful song and a silly disco in the same episode :D
His live performances are always such a treat - both The Song of Heaven Island and Da La Beng Ba are among my favourites :D

Thank you for this article, it's a really cool idea! And it helped me find a few new dramas to watch ^^
I often have the need for "Drama that's bizarre but weirdly good", so I'll definitely try the Frankenstein one ^^

Thank you for this article! The feelings you described are indeed relatable :)

I rarely re-watch dramas, usually I go for it just as you said: when I'm in a slump, or can't choose anything new to watch, or there's a lot of stress in my daily life and I just need something familiar to put my mind off things for a while.

Huh, now I've realized that the only dramas that I've re-watched so far are Chinese ones: The Untamed and Detective L, even though there are many K-dramas that I wanted to re-watch the minute I finished the last episode... but in the end I never got to do it :)

Sometimes I also have the urge to re-watch my favourite dramas when I see someone watching them for the first time and commenting the episodes on feeds :D That's why last week I re-watched the first two episodes of Guardian (Hi, Mic Lo! ^^).
