It’s funny because HD & YJ are the main characters but had the most lackluster ending lol. Some didn’t make sense from a narrative standpoint unless the writer wanted to show that HD & YJ end up being a shadow of their former selves? Let’s shoehorned character development into the trash bin. 🙃
HD had regrets about how she spoke to YJ in that tunnel but after 20 years does it really matter anymore? It’d been nice to show present HD teaching some people lessons. Her workshop is rather empty.
Also, YJ family subplot just disappears. Like his dad was a financial criminal but we don’t even know what happen to him? How did he bounce back into society after being in debt & hiding.
Honestly thought SW would be a radio DJ speaking on current social issues? I mean that would been more befitting.
That’s probably where he gots his money from. He paid rent a year in advance. He also know how to haggle money from people. And he knew what MJ situation was when he saw her mail (loan). He also considers himself an asshole (not good person) lol.
That 2009 interview though 🤣. Like HD is already married with her husband & has MC but fixes her hair to the…
HD & YJ obviously did not end up together so a breakup has to happen. But you know the saying “beating a dead horse that’s already dead”. Well that’s the breakup.
It’s emphasized 3 different times in the last episode. The lost diary fiasco stuck in limbo & imaginary breakup made it unnecessary than it needed to be when it all could’ve been said & ended at the bus stop. Because the bus stop would’ve been the perfect opportunity for YJ to give her diary back or at least tell her where he left it. But nope, let’s add more unnecessary story elements for lingering regrets to ensue 20 years later 😒.
HD & YJ broke up for various reasons, at least show why it worked out with her current partner from 2009 & in 2021? The audience doesn’t know anything about him & he’s barely present , which makes it also ironic 🙃 & disjointed narrative wise.
It’s like the writer wanted to make their love story & breakup poetically tragic. They are 25 & 21, not Romeo & Juliet in the Middle Ages. The backdrop of an actual tragedy (9/11) was also odd in itself?
It felt like the writer was cutting the branches of the tree which itself she was sitting. But what astonishes…
For one thing, KTR likes to play roles where FL are goal oriented & like stories that resonates with her. 2521 story is fantastic but with a few lackluster episodes in narrative, specifically the last ep.
For Mr Sunshine, the FL was also goal oriented & the story definitely resonated with KTR since it has a lot to do with Korean History & whatnot, but I dropped it halfway. Also thought the romantic aspect was lame lol. But I still enjoyed KTR performance because her acting is beautiful.
2521 is a great show, But it’s definitely stronger & clean narrative wise in the 1st half & up to ep 12.
I rewatched the last episode to give it another chance, and the "realistic ending" is definitely not the problem…
That 2009 interview though 🤣. Like HD is already married with her husband & has MC but fixes her hair to the left because YJ told her it’s her pretty side. YJ & HD both gazing at each other & reminiscing their youth days on LIVE TV. HD repeats a line she once said in the telephone booth in ‘98, a line that only they both know, which YJ subtlety nods in response.
It’s been almost a decade, why are they like this lol. Also, I’ve never seen a drama where the main leads break up in 3 separate occasions in 1 ep. The last ep is just odd rather than heartbreaking. 🙃
I couldn't really get into my mister, may have to give it another chance
You should definitely give My Mister another go. The dialogues is just awesome. One of the more satisfying drama from start to end. Consistent characterization & development. One of the best endings. Although bittersweet in a very good way, it's very well done.
It took me 2 years to watch it. So it's never too late lol.

It took me 3 episode to really get into My Mister & it end up being one of my all time fav kdrama. I didn’t watch it 2 years later after it aired.
If you find yourself coming back to watch each ep, then there’s must at least be something you like about it? I think ep 5 is a turning point in narrative. Watch ep 5 to see if it’s worth continuing or dropping.
If you feel super bored watching these characters then I think the writing is doing it’s job lol. These characters lead very simple mundane ordinary boring lives so it’s kind of the point? It’s not supposed to be exciting (yet) lol. Maybe because I don’t lead an eventful extraordinary life I resonate with these characters lol. Also the parents are quite old fashion so I relate to the siblings & their predicament.
I don’t think the directing style is bad either. It’s quite befitting in tone & pacing. I mean it’s from the same writer so she must have wanted the same stylistic direction visually (not exactly the same) like My Mister for MLN.
Gong Yoo wrote on his 2nd MLN post on IG with the caption - “Rating? Don't crave it.. give it everything like a warrior. Just set up an explosion with your love!!”
The company that MJ works at provides clubs for employees to join. Because it’s a graphic company that usually have people sitting all day, it’s probably a way to promote an active & social life style for the employees to interact and have things to do outside of work.

But seriously, where is MLN cast Swoon-Netflix interview😢.

He referenced a line from ep 4. 😆
Drama
2. MLN ✨
Actors
5. Kim Ji Won✨
6. Son Seok Koo✨
It was at #4 last week in drama. It’s good to see KJW & SSK up in the charts this week even with minimal dialogue!
