I don’t think they cut it out because of the age gap. Hopefully it’s shown later because the way it was edit out made the scene felt abrupt? Or maybe it was intentional and be shown later?

The writer for 2521 has a way of misleading the viewers because I thought YJ was going to confess to HD at 2420 or at 2521 but it was earlier than that.

She doesn’t. She might be suppressing memories that she does not want to remember. MC asked her repeatedly but HD continues to say no she doesn’t remember which isn’t true. Something happened but HD doesn’t want to say. Maybe because it’s too painful? HD did say that in order to move on, you have to forget.
People really need to stop infantilizing YJ. He is NOT a kid. The writer is intentionally presenting him to be the adult figure & mature one amongst the five the characters. HD didn’t have any adult figure or guidance in her life for a while. YJ was the first person to be that for her.

The hug doesn’t have to mean romantic but more along the lines of caring. I think he felt hurt seeing her physically injured so it was probably a spur in the moment kind of thing. Would’ve liked to see it nonetheless.

Yes he still young at heart who had to grow up fast but he still an adult. Like he can legally drink, go to clubs, & what not. His maturity level sets him apart from TaeYang squad. They are kids, he is not.

Oh yes. I love HD’s response. She doesn’t say “I Love You” but more in the lines of I like you but it’s not that big yet towards love. She’s young & inexperienced so it’s nice to see a FL explore & understand her feelings first without rush & committed outright.
Suppressing traumatic events or bad memories may be a form of coping mechanism. Which is what present HD must be doing. The photo albums of highschool trip days are at her mother’s house, not hers. MC never saw those photos before either. Meaning HD does not want to see them, maybe due to something that happened. Im not sure if there was an accident(death). I don’t think it has to do with YJ. I also don’t think he’s dead either? Remember when HD says you have to forget in order to move on. If YJ is dead, than why does HD have things that reminds her of YJ. The 2521 sign. The little toy props in her old room with the space ship & bicycle. HD literally drives a red car(which she didn’t before so it must be either her mom or her husband). Who owned a red car? YJ did. So it’s safe to say YJ is not dead (hopefully).
YJ confession is so poignant because it isn’t a simple “I Love You” that a lot of dramas make confessions usually out to be. Most dramas have characters exchange ‘I love you’ & it proceeds with a grand kiss and dramatized music in the BG. YJ confession is so much more than that because he isn’t seeing HD as a romantic prospect(only). He sees her as a person first. He respects her as in individual first. No matter what she looks like or who she is. His love for her is unconditional. He simply wanted his confession to make HD happy.
