No he is a first love-friend. If they follow the novel until its end (I assume they are) they don’t get together.
Yes if they follow the novel (I’m pretty sure they are) it’s a sad-bittersweet one in regards to her romantic relationships.

Question: on episode 29 and on previous episodes the younger director is shown holding a handkerchief on his nose…
He probably has a stench smell
when he takes off his coat lmao 😂 so when he takes it off the people around him closes their nose 😆

Qin E crying in ep 37 😢😭

Wow, I never would have thought the one to defame Qin E was Chu Jiahe’s friend. She’s so rotten 😒😡 I hope she quits singing! Sorry I doubted you Chu Jiahe lol 😆

It’s nice to see Mi Lan again. She looks so gorgeous with her fancy hair & clothes 🥰 Aunt Hua & Mi Lan reunion is sentimental & sweet.

Watching EP 36 is making me cry. Our FL is still Laidi at heart; whether she is Yi Qin Ge or Yi Qin E, she is…
I hope we get to see her at peace & happy at the end. It’s going to be a rough journey to get to that point since she suffered through many traumatic experiences 😔

it’s been leaked ?
It was mentioned on Twitter but I haven’t seen any of those leaks. I think everyone is trying to not post anything about it in respect to the production team & cast

Her hardship started from her family. She was always the neglected child and having a son made it worse. She was…
Yeah her parents are definitely the root of her pain since she was a kid but now as an adult, as a famous qinqiang opera lead star, it has its negative side too (overwhelming fame & jealous colleagues, annoying tabloids, lack of rest etc) so I’m not suprised if she ends up leaving it behind since opera was something she never wanted to do as a kid (even though she grew to love it along the way)

Yeah I hope they touch up on her parents because they never truly acknowledge her at all which is sad. Uncle Hu & Aunt Hua were more like her parents than her actual parents.

If anyone would like to keep track of Qin E’s age by year & episodes, I think it's like this 🤔1976 |…
I hope we get to see Qin E in her 30’s which means the story will most likely end in the 2000’s.

Title The Lead Spoiler
Qin E is now 24-almost 25? Qin E is all grown up. Living in the city for 2 years, she is more exposed to the world & many people. I love that she gets along well with the provincial city troupe (except for Chu Jiahe). I’m happy her current living condition-residency is much better now (an actual apartment complex).

I like in the recent episode it shows the downside of being a famous superstar because there will always be jealous hacks who can’t compete or is on par with Qin E so they have to resort to shameless tactics to discredit her 🫩 But being a superstar comes at a cost because the extensive training & being in high demand is overwhelming & takes a huge toll on Qin E physically & emotionally ☹️

I would have thought maybe Chu Jiahe had change just a little bit but I suppose not. She will be her rival until the end. And that asshole lead actor probably had a hand in writing defamatory things about her to get it published in the magazines. I’m happy that Qin E has a strong support system in Uncle Hu & Aunt Hua. It’s sad she hasn’t seen her family in almost 14 years. I hate how her parents only recognizes her for her singing achievements.

It’s been 2 years since her arrival at the provincial city troupe, Qin E & Hong Bing relationship is more or less the same. But it seems like Qin E has shown a bit of interest. Given the teaser for ep 37, the show will touch on SA. It makes sense that it’s difficult for Qin E to open up to someone romantically because of what happened to her as a kid. Hong Bing being a brute doesn’t make it easier 🫩

If they follow the novel closely (SPOILER), that means Qin E & Hong Bing marries & he ends up cheating on her 😡😭☹️ which pisses me off because he was actively pursuing her like a maniac for two years (even against his parents wishes) 🫩 I’m sure Feng Xiao Xiao will show up again & Qin E will find out about his situation (not being able to sing anymore). It will be a very bittersweet reunion. There’s supposedly a third man in the picture in the novel but I doubt there will be enough episodes to cover so he’s definitely omitted from the drama adaptation.

I want Qin E to choose herself above everything else. I want her to be happy even if it means giving up on Qinqiang Opera altogether at the end. It gave her a sense of purpose in life but it was also the reason she faced so many hardships & sadness as a child & as a growing adult.

When I started watching this show I think it had around 300 watchers on MDL but it’s seems like it has almost a 1000 now so that’s nice ☺️

Wow how is this gem of a drama with such a low number of viewers here? This is honestly such a great show.
Right! It’s so good.
It’s probably because it’s not an idol drama with traffic actors. But it’s doing very well domestically! It has already reached 30k heat index, the second 2026 drama to do so this year and only 3 dramas have reached this index so far in 2026. A CVB tv rating of 4.5%, 700 million effective views, on hot weibo character discussion, and 50 million bullet interaction & comments on tencent.

I heard that she had known 2 years in advance that this role would be hers and had been training for nearly 2…
Thank you for sharing!

Wow that’s true dedication. It’s great that she read the novel too. 6 months of intense training (plus filming another drama in between) must have been tough physically. Her study & hardwork really shows in her performance for this drama. I love her qingiang opera scenes ☺️
